Los datos obtenidos en este trabajo demostraron una actividad potenciadora de antibióticos prometedora por parte de P. mollicomum, alentando el desarrollo de nuevas investigaciones para caracterizar las propiedades toxicológicas y farmacológicas de los extractos y compuestos aislados de esta especie, que pueden contribuir al desarrollo de nuevos agentes terapéuticos para combatir la resistencia a los antimicrobianos.\u0000\u0000\u0000This study aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial activities of different extracts of Piper mollicomum Kunth ex Steud. against standard and multidrug resistant strains of bacteria and fungi, as well as to analyze their potential to modulate antimicrobial resistance. Para la extracción de ficoeritrina, el uso de tampón acetato (pH 5.1) produjo 65.04 µg mL-1, y se identificó como C-ficoeritrina. Los resultados de su actividad antioxidante sugirieron su acción como un potente eliminador de radicales libres. Además, la C-ficoeritrina de Nostoc mostró una capacidad notable como agente antibacteriano y antifúngico, con estabilidad significativa de hasta 10 días. La glucosa (4 mg mL-1) fue un buen conservante para la C-ficoeritrina a 25 y 4 ºC. Se obtuvo por primera vez una C-ficoeritrina estable de Nostoc sp. en condiciones de sequía en piedra caliza, lo que demuestra la necesidad de estudiar microorganismos de ambientes extremos.\u0000\u0000\u0000The phycoerythrin characterization from Nostoc sp. strain A5 was done, followed by investigation of its biological activity for biotechnological applications. For phycoerythrin extraction, the use of acetate buffer (pH 5.1) resulted in 65.04 µg mL-1, and C-phycoerythrin was identified. Results of its antioxidant activity suggested action as a potent free radical scavenger. In addition, Nostoc's C-phycoerythrin showed noteworthy ability for antibacterial and antifungal agents with significant stability up to 10 days. Glucose (4 mg mL-1) was a good preservative for C-phycoerythrin at 25 and 4 ºC. The data can be used as a tool for identification and classification of Pinus upto genus and species level. Se observaron alteraciones en la actividad locomotora de las ratas, donde hubo una disminución significativa en la locomoción del Grupo 3 (MP10) en comparación con los Grupo 1 (Control) y Grupo 2 (MP2,5). Con respecto al comportamiento de ansiedad, el Grupo 3 pasó significativamente más tiempo en brazos abiertos en comparación con el control y MP2,5. No se observaron cambios hematológicos y bioquímicos. En este estudio, se concluye que, la exposición a la MP puede causar daño neurológico y, en consecuencia, afectar a otros sistemas. \u0000\u0000\u0000Particulate matter (PM) can alter the cognitive processes, the depressive behavior, and the hematological profile in animals. This study aimed to evaluate the effects on behavioral, hematological, and biochemical parameters caused by PM in an animal model. A significant decrease in the locomotion activity of Group 3 (PM10) in relation to Group 1 (Control) and Group 2 (PM2.5) was observed. Regarding the anxiety behavior, Group 3 remained significantly the most part of the time in the open arms when compared to the control and PM2.5 groups. No hematological or biochemical alterations were observed among groups. El perfil fitoquímico se obtuvo por cromatografía de gases junto con espectrometría de masas. J. mollissima mostró actividad antibacteriana moderada y moduló la actividad del antibiótico Norfloxacino, promoviendo una relación antagonista. Este fue el primer estudio de este tipo realizado con J. mollissima.\u0000\u0000\u0000The emergence of resistant bacterial strains and the significant increase in side effects of currently available antibacterial drugs have made it urgent to develop research to identify new bioactives antibacterial compounds. Jatropha mollissima is a plant endemic to the Caatinga biome, Brazil and this species has antioxidant, antibacterial and antiproliferative action. The present study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial and modulatory potentials of J. mollissima against multiresistant bacterial strains. The phytochemical profile was obtained from gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry. J. mollissima presented moderate antibacterial activity and modulated the activity of the antibiotic Norfloxacin, promoting an antagonistic relationship. Los experimentos se realizaron por Diseño Central Compuesto Rotativo 22 totalizando 11 ensayos. La mayor actividad enzimática de 352.53 U/mL se obtuvo con 1.5 g de HCY y 0.6 g de LMF. La temperatura y el pH óptimos fueron 55 ºC y pH 8.0, respectivamente. CGTase mostró una actividad relativa superior al 50% durante 120 min. a la temperatura óptima. Solo el CaCl2 mostró actividad positiva para CGTasa. Los resultados apuntaron a un buen potencial de B. trypoxylicola SM-02 para la producción de CGTasa usando substratos residuales.\u0000\u0000\u0000In the present work was studied the use of cassava peel flour (CPF), corn steep liquor (CSL), and cassava wastewater as substrates to produce cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase (CGTase) from a new alkalophilic isolate of Bacillus trypoxylicola SM-02 by submerged fermentation. The experiments were performed as a Central Composite Design 22, totalizing 11 assays. An enzymatic activity of 352.53 U/mL was obtained using 1.5 g of CPF and 0.6 g of CSL. The optimum temperature and pH of CGTase was 55 °C and 8.0, respectively. The CGTase depicted a relative activity of more than 50% for 120 min at the optimum temperature. The only salt that positively influenced the CGTase activity was CaCl2. Dado que la especie está considerada en esta comunidad autónoma como especie exótica invasora, se valora el riesgo potencial de colonización de ambientes naturales limítrofes a la zona de observación (jardín privado en zona urbanizada).\u0000\u0000\u0000The non-indigenous terrestrial flatworm Bipalium cf. kewense Moseley, 1878 is reported in Alicante province (Iberian Peninsula) for the first time. This occurrence is the most meridional from the Comunidad Valenciana, enlarging its distribution in this area. La flora se caracteriza por una alta proporción de taxones raros y/o endémicos, entre ellos, 6 especies son endemismos algero-tunecinos pertenecientes a la familia Orchidaceae. En este trabajo, se da a conocer la presencia de una nueva especie para la flora argelina, Ophrys fusca subsp. lupercalis. Los análisis multivariantes revelaron, ciertas variables ambientales que determinan la distribución de los geófitos. Los lugares de interés son particularmente sensibles a las amenazas, particularmente las de origen antrópico.\u0000\u0000\u0000Thirty stations at the El Kala National Park (North Eastern Algeria) were the subject of a floristic focused on the study of the ecology of bulbous and tuberous geophytes. The floristic analysis was used to draw up a checklist of 67 species belonging to 36 genera and 14 families, among of which 19 species a high proportion of rare and/or endemic taxa; among them six signed taxa are endemic to algerian-tunisian mainly represented by family of Orchidaceae. In this work, we recorded the presence of a new species for the Algerian flora which is Ophrys fusca subsp. lupercalis. Multivariate analyses revealed certain environmental variables determining the distribution of geophytes.
