The electrotomography method is used to construct geoelectric models of the upper section part to depths of several tens of meters. One of the important tasks of this method is to determine characters of fault zones. Large regional Cenozoic faults are distinguished by significant shifts and are usually well manifested in relief. Intradepression interblock faults overlaid by sedimentary deposits are hard to identify by geological methods, but they are reflected mainly by zones with a reduced value of electrical resistance in sections according to electrotomography data. The paper considers practical examples of the ET method use for studying fault structures of the Gorny Altai. Analysis of the accumulated volume of electrotomography field data allowed researchers to compile typical models simulating the fault structures of this territory. The results of simulated data inversion obtained by numerical modeling of fault zones of the Gorny Altai using well-known third-party programs and proprietary developments are compared. The capabilities of different software systems are analyzed for interpretation of electrotomography data.","PeriodicalId":52268,"journal":{"name":"Geology and Mineral Resources of Siberia","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68426851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The obtained values of isotopic oxygen shifts relative to the global meteor water line (GMWL) from 2 to 9‰ indicate the ancient sedimentation origin of most samples. The primary enrichment of waters with the heavy isotope 18O due to evaporation in warm climatic conditions was subsequently further enhanced by their isotopic exchange with oxygen-containing rocks. The migration hypothesis of light isotopes of water into the overlying water-bearing horizons during the formation of condensatogenic waters is proposed, the influence of moisture burial duration on its isotopic composition is shown. The isotopic concentration characteristic of DIC is very broad and covers the range of δ13C values (from –51.8 to +21.8 ‰) and the carbon dioxide content in waters (from 0.17 to 38.6 mmol/dm3). The content of DIC in waters is primarily associated with the availability of carbon-containing substance to waters and bacteria directly involved in its processing. The isotopic composition of DIC varies non-linearly and indicates a variety of competing processes of formation and isotopic exchange of carbon dioxide with the environment. The pattern suggesting the homogenization of isotopic composition of carbon dioxide in ground waters to values close to the average values of air CO2, taking into account the fractionation coefficients is found. The revealed effect may indicate the closure of carbon cycle in the “air CO2 – organic matter – DIC” system.","PeriodicalId":52268,"journal":{"name":"Geology and Mineral Resources of Siberia","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68427020","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Comparative analysis of the mineral resource bases of Russia, Chile, the USA and the world as a whole is carried out using cumulative availability curves. The curves represent a graph of cumulative volumes of proved mineral reserves, ranked by the degree of economic feasibility of their involvement in the development, depending on the estimated price for this type of mineral products. The estimated price is determined based on considerations of the minimum level of the development profitability. The authors propose an approach to determining the estimated price depending on the probabilities of deposits involvement in development. The approach is based on the construction of “content-reserves” diagrams for operated and reserve mineral deposits and can be used in conditions of limited availability of information about the parameters and conditions for the development of specific reserves. For the compared mineral resource bases, the sizes of economically available copper reserves have been established at present, the limits of possible increment in available reserves have been determined with favorable changes in the market position of mineral commodity markets and improvement of the extraction tehnology and processing of mineral raw materials.","PeriodicalId":52268,"journal":{"name":"Geology and Mineral Resources of Siberia","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68426690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Identification of such heterogeneities of coal seam as sand down-cuttings and other is an important element of this. Information on the geometry of coal seams and their large-scale characteristics is often provided by a relatively dense network of exploration wells, however, these data are usually insufficient to identify such local features of the coal seam structure as down-cuttings. The present work shows the applicability of new method by means of wave field modeling. This method is based on focusing channel waves scattering on the seam heterogeneity. The result of applying the method is a medium image whereon an energy is focused at the combined point and at the point of the simulated scatterer. It is obvious that the practical applicability of the approach is based on the signal extraction against the background of intense surface noises and noise attenuation is supposed to be achieved through crosscorrelation processing.","PeriodicalId":52268,"journal":{"name":"Geology and Mineral Resources of Siberia","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68426985","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is shown that more than half of the balance reserves (52%) and bulk of reserves of especially valuable coking coal grades for open-pit mining are already in the distributed subsoil fund and are being actively developed. The undistributed subsoil fund contains 54% of reserves of highly valued grades, the mining of which is mainly (97%) possible only underground. Assessment of the brand structure of balance reserves from the position of forming an optimal coal charge indicates an imbalance in the raw material base - deficit of coking coal grades (K, KO and OС) and inert additive (KC) both in distributed and undistributed subsoil funds, and only about 30% of reserves fully meet the condition of balance. The volume assessment of the coking coal production from the position of forming an optimal coal charge to meet the domestic needs of the country indicates an excessively intensive development of the coking base coal reserves, that may lead to exhaustion of the distributed reserve fund of these coals in the near future (about 20 years).","PeriodicalId":52268,"journal":{"name":"Geology and Mineral Resources of Siberia","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68427061","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
