A Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) was utilized for automated pump control, with the study focusing on enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability. Fuzzy Logic enabled precise regulation of pump operations, adapting to varying water demands while striving to minimize energy wastage. The methodology involved the development and implementation of the FLC model, considering water depth and consumption levels as input parameters. The system was designed to effectively adjust pumping speed based on water usage patterns and tank water levels. The results demonstrated that water quantity significantly affected energy consumption. The fuller the water tank, the lower the energy consumption needed to maintain the desired water level. However, it is important to note that the influence of water consumption also increased the energy consumption of the control system to pump water, highlighting the importance of energy efficiency in water management. The research findings underscored the potential for an efficient and adaptable water pumping mechanism, aligning with sustainable energy practices and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).","PeriodicalId":515899,"journal":{"name":"TEM Journal","volume":"9 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140424527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previous empirical studies abroad indicate significant differences in the incidence of hikikomori syndrome in the case of boys. The study examined the phenomenon of hikikomori syndrome that has not yet been studied in Slovakia. The aim of the study is to map the prevalence and analyze the hikikomori syndrome phenomenon in primary school students. The sample consisted of 2 767 respondents with an average age of 12.68 years. We found a statistically significant difference in the prevalence rate of the hikikomori syndrome among boys and girls. Hikikomori syndrome is more common among girls than among boys. Furthermore, a positive correlation was found between drug use and hikikomori syndrome in both sexes. In relation to gender differences, our findings have broadened the theoretical foundations of hikikomori syndrome and present a starting point for designing preventive educational activities for professionals working with children and youth.","PeriodicalId":515899,"journal":{"name":"TEM Journal","volume":"10 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140424942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the use of calculations in the frequency domain, it becomes possible to perform decomposition, reconstruction, image filtering, and other transformations with high performance and precision. For multiscale signal analysis, a wavelet with a rectangular amplitude-frequency response has been constructed, which allows for an increase in the accuracy of decomposition and reconstruction compared to the Mallat algorithm presented in Matlab computer mathematics. At the same time, the time of multiscale analysis is reduced several times compared to the Mallat algorithm.","PeriodicalId":515899,"journal":{"name":"TEM Journal","volume":"61 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140425207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To create dataset and ensure the versatility of the solution for different applications, we developed an online scraping tool designed to extract articles from ResearchGate based on a specific search query. The proposed machine learning model leverages contextual embeddings and graph theory, translating intricate scholarly work into informative steps for one to go wider rather than deeper in their research. By employing a Christofides approximation of the Traveling Salesman Problem algorithm, our model efficiently navigates through more than 1000 article embeddings. We prove that the resulting path not only accelerates the knowledge gaining process, but also evidently diversifies the findings. Moreover, we evaluated multiple PDF reader libraries to arrive at the most suitable one for the purpose. This adaptability allows the framework to be applied not only to scraped articles, but also to those stored as PDF files, giving an option for multiple data sources. In conclusion, this paper presents a transformative approach for literature research optimization, equipping researchers with a potent tool to efficiently explore articles.","PeriodicalId":515899,"journal":{"name":"TEM Journal","volume":"33 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140425939","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to investigate the impact of introducing educational robotics as compared to computer-assisted experiments (EXAO) on students' motivation and learning in physical sciences. We divided a group of 120 middle-school students into two cohorts: one used the cost-effective educational robot, EducThermoBot, as an experimental group, while the other employed traditional EXAO as a control group. The findings demonstrate that the integration of educational robotics has a noteworthy and positive impact on students' motivation, whereas the overall academic performance exhibited no significant disparities between the two cohorts. Notwithstanding some limitations, this research offers valuable insights to enhance pedagogical practices by promoting the integration of educational robotics into the teaching of physical sciences in Morocco.","PeriodicalId":515899,"journal":{"name":"TEM Journal","volume":"76 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140426733","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The remaining resources do not equal the amount needed. For this reason, effective and efficient disaster management methods are needed. Learning from recent research that describes how they optimize the coordination function of hospital systems to overcome the imbalance between need and care capacity, we add the bed occupancy ratio (BOR) of healthcare facilities to the modeling. This paper aims to provide information about the distribution mechanism for injured victims by minimizing the total time to arrive at the healthcare facility. This victim evacuation modeling uses the integer linear programming method with two scenarios. Simulations were carried out on 164 injured victims, estimated by residents who live in areas that cross the Great Sumatran fault. The results show that the second scenario, which involves distributing it to the nearest healthcare facility, is 3.6 hours shorter compared to taking it to the general hospital in the first scenario.","PeriodicalId":515899,"journal":{"name":"TEM Journal","volume":"3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140427031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The difference in the mechanical properties is due to the AM’s specific working manner of adding the material in layers. By consulting the available literature on this matter, it is concluded that most of the research papers are concerning the tensile strength of the parts leaving only a small number of papers dealing with the compressive strength of the parts. The aim of the paper is to make contribution in this particular research area. As an AM process we are using the fused filament fabrication (FFF) process and polylactic acid (PLA) material. The study also explores the influence of the infill pattern on the compressive stress of the parts. Samples are designed and tested according to the ISO 604 standard. Three samples size 25x25x25 mm were tested on SHIMADZU AG-X 250 kN for the experimental study and in LS-Dyna and HypeMesh for the numerical study. Results showed correlation between the results in the experimental and numerical study. Lowest values for the compressive strength were achieved by the concentric infill samples. This is one addition in the studies correlating the process parameters to the mechanical properties. These types of studies are valuable input in the design process and material selection process for a particular application.","PeriodicalId":515899,"journal":{"name":"TEM Journal","volume":"41 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140427325","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are 14 zakat institutions that will be analyzed using data envelopment analysis (DEA) window analysis during the period of 2016 to 2020. The result shows that the average efficiency of zakat institution is 78% during the observation period. The inefficiency of zakat institutions from both countries is caused by the less-than-optimal distribution of zakat funds. The best performing zakat institutions are Selangor, BSMU, BRI Foundation, and Baznas because they have the highest efficiency and stability. This study has filled the gap in previous studies that measure the efficiency of zakat institutions with the standard DEA approach. Zakat institution managers can identify potential improvements in input and output variables to achieve maximum level of efficiency.","PeriodicalId":515899,"journal":{"name":"TEM Journal","volume":"24 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140427539","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
