It makes it obligatory to explore novel antimicrobial drugs to cure lung infections. Phytochemicals, which are herbal compounds found in plants, exhibit antimicrobial properties and contain\u0000substances like tannins, terpenoids, flavonoids, etc. Now, researchers have opted for novel strategies\u0000for drug invention through the screening of medicinal plants. These plants offer a lavish source of\u0000new structures and phyto moieties, making them precious in the development of effective treatments.\u0000Many current researchers recommend medicinal plant formulations to cure different respiratory disorders. Among these are Tinospora cordifolia (Thunb.) Miers (T. cordifolia) shrubs. The plant T.\u0000cordifolia is mainly claimed for its antispasmodic, antipyretic, antineoplastic, hypolipidemic, hypoglycemic, immunopotentiating, and hepatoprotective pharmacological properties. This review provides insight into T. cordifolia, which plays a significant role in combating infectious ailments and\u0000its significance in maintaining the health of mankind. This review article recapitulates the plant TC\u0000and specifies different bioactive components that showed antimicrobial action. The present study\u0000outlined various investigations that have been done on T. cordifolia, i.e., in-silico, toxicity, and antimicrobial, which will explore the opportunity in the development of novel medications against microbial infections. In addition, this study depicts the application of T. cordifolia in culinary, beverage\u0000and marketed products that were found helpful in the treatment of various disorders and recent updates on T. cordifolia. It is packed with natural macro-micronutrients, immunoglobulins, peptides, and proteins\u0000and has been utilized in traditional medicine for centuries to treat a range of illnesses and problems.\u0000Its therapeutic advantages are particularly significant in the treatment of respiratory problems,\u0000growth factor augmentation, and other conditions. Numerous preclinical and clinical research studies\u0000have demonstrated its therapeutic effects, including its ability to promote well-being, treat medical\u0000conditions, and support animal husbandry. Bovine colostrum may assist therapy against COVID-19\u0000due to its potential antiviral properties, which can slow the course of the disease. Bovine colostrum\u0000contains bioactive components such as lactoferrin, which has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and\u0000antiviral properties. Additionally, bovine colostrum may boost both the adaptive and innate immune\u0000systems of humans. Colostrum's chemical composition differs from milk, with higher concentrations\u0000of nutrients and physiologically active compounds such as enzymes, growth factors, immunoglobulins,\u0000and hormones. The colostrum is crucial for the development of a newborn calf's immune system,\u0000and the initial section of the colostrum has the highest concentration of insulin-like growth factors\u0000(IGFs), which rapidly decline after that. Our study aimed to assess\u0000the effectiveness of melatonin as an adjunctive therapy to classical mood stabilizers in addressing sleep\u0000impairment and mood symptoms in bipolar patients currently experiencing manic episodes.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000Fifty-eight hospitalized patients, with a mean age of 38.04 ± 11.03, experiencing an acute\u0000manic episode and receiving valproate sodium treatment for one week were randomly assigned to\u0000either the melatonin group or the placebo group. Both melatonin and a matched placebo were initiated\u0000at a dosage of 3 mg/day at bedtime for the first week and increased to 6 mg/day for the subsequent\u0000three weeks. The primary efficacy endpoint focused on evaluating the severity of manic symptoms\u0000using the Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS) at enrollment and at weeks 1, 2, and 4 postinterventions.\u0000Additionally, as a secondary efficacy endpoint, the change in insomnia severity was\u0000assessed at the end of the study period using the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) questionnaire.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000Analyses were conducted on an Intention-to-Treat (ITT) analysis dataset. Despite a significant\u0000decrease in mean Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS) scores over the four-week study period in\u0000both treatment groups, melatonin exhibited a notably higher improvement in manic symptoms compared\u0000to the placebo (p-value ≤ 0.001). By the end of week 4, patients receiving a placebo demonstrated\u0000a mean ± SD decrease in YMRS scores of -17.3 ± 4.75, while those treated with melatonin\u0000experienced a more substantial reduction, with a mean ± SD of -21.06 ± 5.92 (p-value = 0.012). The\u0000proportion of responders, defined as patients with a ≥ 50% reduction in YMRS total score, and remitters,\u0000defined as those with an endpoint YMRS score ≤12, was also significantly higher in the melatonin-\u0000treated group compared to the placebo group. Furthermore, at the study endpoint, the melatonin\u0000group experienced a greater reduction in the mean ISI score compared to the placebo group (11.51 ±\u00003.07 versus 8.97 ± 3.56; p-value < 0.001). Chemical proteomics, specifically the use of covalently\u0000linked probes in live cells, allows for the identification of protein-binding partners or targets of\u0000small molecules. Recent advancements in target identification of natural products have utilized affinity-\u0000based probes and photo-affinity labeling techniques, enabling the capture of potential cellular\u0000targets even when the interaction is reversible. This knowledge can aid in understanding molecular\u0000pathways and developing new therapeutics for diseases lacking treatment options. Several methods,\u0000including DARTS, SPROX, CETSA, TPP, and bioinformatics-based analysis, are employed for target\u0000identification of label-free natural products. Chemical probe design and synthesis are tailored to\u0000screen targets of molecules with diverse structures. Herbs and spices are now the primary ingredients in the\u0000global food and nutraceutical industry. Traditional methods for extraction of active metabolites of\u0000herbs and spices may lead to lowered extraction efficiency due to high solvent consumption and a\u0000longer extraction period. These issues can be resolved by the use of novel green and sustainable extraction\u0000techniques.
