Components of\u0000RAAS and other serum and urinary parameters were not different between the groups except for\u0000Endothelin-1, which was significantly lower than that in the controls. Urinary calcium excretion was\u0000significantly higher in FDT-treated rats (p < 0.05).\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000It seems that daily oral administration of FDT significantly lowers blood pressure in\u0000SHR through mechanisms that do not involve RAAS but may involve the endothelium or other yetto-\u0000be-determined mechanisms.\u0000

Chemical analysis was carried out by high resolution\u0000mass spectrometry and one and two-dimensional NMR techniques.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000Structures of purified compounds were determined as betulin 1, α-amyrin acetate 2, mixture of\u0000β-sitosterol 3 and stigmasterol 4, tetratriacontyl-trans-p-coumarate 5, ursolic acid 6, β-sitosterol glucoside\u00007, picralstonine 8 and scholaricine 9.
