Methodologically, the researcher applied tabular analysis alongside elementary statistical techniques such as measures of central tendency and percentages for data examination. The findings revealed a significant lack of awareness among non-insured farmers regarding crop insurance, with nearly half of them being uninformed. Conversely, among insured farmers, the primary motivation for obtaining crop insurance stemmed from either bank compulsion or the pursuit of financial security. Concerns regarding premium rates were evident, with a majority perceiving them to be excessive. Recommendations for the enhancement of customer satisfaction and the promotion of greater farmer participation included the proposition of tailored insurance offerings and the mitigation of concerns pertaining to premium rates

The study was carried out for a period of twelve months from October 2021 to September 2022. \u0000Methodology: The study comprised of eighteen Large White Yorkshire breed sows of different parities with 177 piglets that were reared in three types of farrowing systems which included Conventional farrowing crate, Guard rail model & modified farrowing facility. \u0000Results: Litter size, season of farrowing, number of stillbirth and parity affected birth weight significantly (p < 0.01). It was seen that each increase in the number of litter size reduces birth and weaning weight. However, parity had no statistically significant effect on the weaning weight (p > 0.05). Likewise, the type of farrowing facility (p > 0.05) also had no statistical significance on the birth weight. \u0000Conclusion: The results of the present study reveal that mean birth weight and weaning weight were not influenced by the type of farrowing system they were reared in. However, season of farrowing affected the birth weight which could affect the pre-weaning survival.

Parshuramkar
Since cotton is a major crop grown for commercial purposes in the Vidarbha region, Dr. PDKV Akola conducted and recommended the current study, which has several goals, including determining the extent to which recommended technology has been adopted in cotton production, examining input utilization in cotton at varying levels of adoption of IPM technology, calculating the cost-effectiveness and profitability of cotton at varying levels of adoption of IPM technology, and analyzing the barriers to technology adoption. The districts of Akola and Buldhana in Maharashtra State's Vidarbha area served as the study's locations. Three tahasils—Akola, Akot, and Sangrampur—were chosen from these districts, and 120 farmers were chosen from these villages, namely Varvat Khanderao, Khiroda, Sangrampur, Rambhapur, Mandala, Kinkhed Purna, and Khambora. The primary data, which cover the years 2022–2023, were gathered using a straightforward random sample technique. As a result of input usage, the group with a high adoption level utilized the most human labor. All three categories had seed rates, resistant variety usage at the indicated level, and sowing times that were closer to the recommended level. Farmyard manure, at 30.68 quintals per hectare, is most commonly used in the high adopter category. This is followed by medium adopters (16.80 q/ha) and low adopters (14.05 q/ha). The results of applying fertilizer (NPK) indicate that more was applied in all three categories at the recommended level. The highest per hectare yield, 16.64 quintals, was recorded by the high adopter group, followed by 14.01 quintals for the medium adopter group, and 12.71 quintals for the low adopter group. The net returns at Costs "A1," "B2," and "C2" were in the high adopter category, with amounts of Rs. 76557.94/-, Rs. 59781.64/-, and Rs. 50163.47/-. For low, medium, and high adopters, the input-output ratios at cost "A1" were 1.95, 2.05, and 2.27, respectively, but the input-output ratios at cost "C2" were 1.36, 1.43, and 1.58 for these same adopters. High adopter farmers saved Rs. 599.58 and Rs. 854.32/-per quintal at Costs "A1" and "C2" as a result of the per unit cost decrease. IPM technology was discovered to make cotton farming profitable because it reduced the cost of plant protection measures while simultaneously increasing yield. As a result, all cotton growers need to employ IPM technology more widely.

Through survey responses, it was observed that a significant number of respondents were able to identify weeds and common varieties. However, there were noticeable knowledge gaps in specific IWM practices such as intercropping and understanding the critical period for weed control. Furthermore, the study reveals a correlation between certain factors and higher levels of IWM knowledge. Factors like education level, land holding, and access to resources were found to be positively associated with a greater understanding of IWM practices. These findings underscore the importance of targeted extension programs aimed at educating sugarcane growers about best practices for weed control within the framework of Integrated Weed Management. By addressing these knowledge gaps and leveraging key factors that contribute to higher knowledge levels, such programs can significantly enhance weed management strategies in sugarcane production.

The treatment combinations comprised seven treatments along with one control that was arranged in a randomized block design (factorial) with four replications and two varieties namely Hisar Onion-2 and Hisar Onion-4. The results of the study showed that bulb yield-related parameters such as average fresh weight of bulbs (82.39 g), yield per plot (26.74 kg), and yield per hectare (29.71 t) were recorded maximum in the treatment T6. However, the better storage life of bulbs was estimated in treatment control which was at par with treatment T3 i.e., physiological loss in weight (20.23%), sprouting (3.14%), and rotting (11.43%) were observed minimum after 120 days of storage period. Hisar onion-4 was found superior in all the bulb yield and shelf-life parameters in comparison to Hisar Onion-2. Treatment consisting of 50% recommended dose of NPK + 50% RDN supplied through Vermi-compost recorded maximum net return (Rs.1, 97,942) and benefit-cost ratio (2.25). Therefore, it can be inferred that the combined use of organic manures and inorganic fertilizers contributes to the improved shelf life of onion bulbs and enhances the long-term production potential of the soil.

These advantageous qualities are subsequently transferred to a moderate pool of resources so that breeders can create new varieties for farmers. With the process of discovering useful characteristics, preserving their genetic diversity, and incorporating these genes into a form that can be used, crop improvement innovation is generated. Connecting genetic diversity from wild relatives along with other uncontrolled sources is the main goal. Pre-breeding strategies aim to introduce genes for tolerance to environmental difficulties and resistance to major diseases and pests from wild relatives into cultivated crops using the application of introgression and integration procedures. Pre-breeding provides the base for commercially important techniques for plant breeding by broadening the diversity of germplasm and providing breeders with easily accessible resources to breeding beneficial characteristics, while adhering to the basic concepts of the field. The comprehensive discussion of pre-breeding is a valuable resource for scientists and researchers alike, addressing all aspects of this crucial phase in improving vegetable crops.

While previous research has noted higher resistance in younger potato plants and an acropetal increase in resistance within plant leaves, such investigations are limited in tomatoes. Our study aimed to address this gap by investigating the influence of chronological and physiological ages on early blight resistance in tomato plants. Using the Keck Ruth Ageti cultivar, we conducted experiments at various plant growth stages. Chronological age variations were achieved by sowing seeds at 10-day intervals, with inoculation occurring when the youngest seedlings reached 20 days. Leaf sampling from different sections facilitated the evaluation of physiological age effects. Results showed a direct relationship between plant age and disease susceptibility, with older plants exhibiting higher incidence rates. Moreover, resistance increased from lower to upper leaves, with top leaves demonstrating the highest resistance.
