However, the comprehensive properties of existing PEEK‐based low dielectric materials are insufficient to meet future demands. In this work, hollow molybdenum disulfide nanospheres (hMoS 2 ) were prepared by the template method and hydrothermal reaction, and then modified with 1H,1H,2H,2H‐Perfluorodecanethiol (PFDT) to obtain fluorinated hollow molybdenum disulfide nanospheres (F‐hMoS 2 ). Subsequently, the F‐hMoS 2 was blended with poly (ether ether ketone) (PEEK) to form F‐hMoS 2 /PEEK composites. Morphological, structural, and chemical composition characterization confirmed the successful synthesis of F‐hMoS 2 . The results showed that the addition of F‐hMoS 2 effectively reduced the dielectric constant of PEEK composites while enhancing their thermal stability and mechanical properties. The F‐hMoS 2 /PEEK‐0.6 composite exhibited a dielectric constant of 2.75 at 1 MHz, a thermal decomposition temperature of 541.7°C, and a tensile strength of 101.7 MPa. In addition, the composite exhibited better frequency stability, a higher glass transition temperature (154.5°C), and storage modulus (3200 MPa) compared with pure PEEK. This work establishes a materials design paradigm for the practical application of PEEK in electronic devices.","PeriodicalId":510403,"journal":{"name":"Polymer Composites","volume":"47 5","pages":"4439-4452"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdfdirect/10.1002/pc.70436","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147898964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, due to the black‐box nature of polymer processing, the underlying dynamics of particle migration remain unclear. Traditional techniques (e.g., scanning electron microscopy, laser confocal microscopy) only capture final particle distributions, challenging real‐time dynamics analysis. This study employs a Computational Fluid Dynamics‐Discrete Phase Model (CFD‐DPM) approach, solving interface evolution (Eulerian framework) and particle dynamics (Lagrangian framework), to elucidate the force‐velocity‐displacement‐aggregation relationship and the contribution of force components to particle migration. Combined with experiments, we clarify thermophoresis‐driven migration mechanisms and propose engineering strategies for directional control of particle migration. Herein, we report a high‐performance heterostructure film fabricated from poly(p‐phenylene‐2,6‐benzobisoxazole) (PBO) nanofibers and Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene nanosheets. A PBO‐modified MXene (mPM) composite was first prepared via vacuum‐assisted filtration. This mPM layer was subsequently deposited onto a homologous PBO sol, followed by an in situ confined sol–gel‐film conversion process to construct a wrinkled mPM/PBO heterostructure film. The resulting architecture integrates an electrically conductive top layer with a thermally conductive base layer, enabling an exceptional combination of high tensile strength (312.7 MPa), high toughness (57.3 MJ m −3 ), superior in‐plane thermal conductivity (18.2 W m −1 K −1 ), and remarkable EMI shielding effectiveness (12291.5 dB cm 2 g −1 ). Additionally, the film demonstrates outstanding photo‐ and electro‐thermal responsiveness. Imidazolium polyurethane (IPU) modified carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and nickel@carbon nanotubes (Ni@CNTs) were used to improve the PLA/PCL composites' EMI shielding properties. The EMI shielding effectiveness (SE) of all samples increased with increasing CNTs and IPU2 content. The values of PLA5/PCL5 and PLA7/PCL3 composites with 10 wt% CNTs are 36.7 dB and 34.1 dB, and the reflection coefficient (R) of the samples is less than 0.5. IPU1 modified Ni@CNTs is selectively distributed at the PCL phase for the magnetic effect, and IPU2 modified CNTs are mainly located at the interface of the co‐continuous structure, establishing a more complete three‐dimensional conductive network. By constructing a dispersed structure of magnetic conductive fillers and a continuous structure of conductive fillers, absorptive dominant EMI shielding materials are realized through an electromagnetic multilayered structure. The addition of Ni@CNTs greatly enhanced the electromagnetic absorption, as well as the three‐dimensional conductive network formed by CNTs, which can enhance electromagnetic attenuation. Plenty of interfaces in the co‐continuous structure facilitated the multiple reflections of electromagnetic waves, thus achieving low‐reflection electromagnetic shielding.","PeriodicalId":510403,"journal":{"name":"Polymer Composites","volume":"47 5","pages":"4275-4290"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-09-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147909884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Herein, we synthesized silver nanoparticle‐decorated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs@Ag) via a rapid solvent‐free method and integrated them into poly(lactic acid) (PLA) matrices to fabricate composite films through solution casting. The resulting PLA/MWCNTs@Ag composite film containing 10 wt% MWCNTs@Ag achieves an average EMI SE of 18.59 dB at a thickness of approximately 95 μm, with the shielding mechanism dominated by surface reflection. To strategically control EMI attenuation pathways, multilayered architectures were engineered using layer‐by‐layer solution casting while maintaining identical filler content. Systematic analysis reveals that both thickness and layer number significantly influence EMI shielding performance. Notably, a multilayer film with a thickness of approximately 155 μm and seven layers exhibits an average EMI SE of 24.43 dB with an absorption‐dominated mechanism, showing a 31.41% enhancement over single‐layer counterparts. This performance transition from reflection to absorption dominance originates from optimized impedance matching, enhanced interfacial polarization, multiple internal reflections, and reconstructed conductive networks enabled by structural design. However, their relatively low tensile properties limit their effectiveness as standalone materials, necessitating reinforcement. Poly(p‐phenylene benzobisoxazole) (PBO) fibers, known for their superior mechanical and tribological properties, struggle with effective interfacial bonding with PI due to low surface activity. This gap in effective reinforcement strategies is critical for advancing PI applications. Here, we address this challenge by anchoring graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets onto PBO fibers using rare‐earth (lanthanum) ions, producing RE‐GO‐RE‐PBO fibers with a multi‐scale reinforcement structure. The study involved optimizing the rare‐earth solution (RES) concentration and characterizing the fiber surfaces. Our results indicate that an optimal RES concentration of 0.3 wt% achieves uniform and stable GO deposition, significantly enhancing interfacial bonding with the PI matrix. The resulting RE‐GO‐RE‐PBO/PI composite exhibited a 91.74% increase in tensile strength and a 58.44% increase in modulus compared to pure PI, alongside improved wear resistance and a low friction coefficient. These findings present a novel strategy for designing high‐performance tribological composites by integrating rare‐earth‐modified nanomaterials into fiber‐reinforced matrices. This approach not only addresses the critical challenge of enhancing interfacial bonding but also provides a theoretical and experimental foundation for advanced applications in aerospace and other high‐tech sectors, pushing the boundaries of tribological material performance.","PeriodicalId":510403,"journal":{"name":"Polymer Composites","volume":"47 4","pages":"3550-3567"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147899076","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The influence of filler addition and content on the tribological properties was investigated with a pin‐on‐disk wear tester, whereas the wear morphology was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results indicate that the neat EP coatings primarily exhibit an adhesive wear mechanism, whereas the composite coatings show a mixed wear mechanism involving adhesion, abrasion, and delamination.
