Under the background of hemodynamics, we abstracted a family of fractal operators and investigate the kernel function and properties thereof. Based on fractal operators, the intrinsic relation between Bessel function and Struve function was revealed, and some new special functions were found. The results provide mathematical tools for biomechanics and automatic control.","PeriodicalId":510138,"journal":{"name":"Fractal and Fractional","volume":" 0","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141826495","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, achieving such precision becomes challenging in complex energy systems rife with uncertainties and disturbances. Controlling different parts of the energy system poses a challenge to achieving optimal power system efficiency, particularly when employing model-based control strategies, thereby adding complexity to current systems. This paper proposes a novel model-independent control approach aimed at augmenting transient stability and voltage regulation performance in multi machine energy systems. The approach involves the introduction of an optimized model-free fractional-order-based excitation system stabilizer for synchronous generators in a multi machine energy system. To overcome the limitations associated with complex system model identification, which add degrees of simplification at defined operating conditions and assume the system model remains fixed despite high uncertainty and numerous disturbances, an optimal model-independent fractional-order-based excitation control strategy is introduced. The efficacy of the proposed approach is validated through comparative numerical analyses using the MATLAB/Simulink environment. These simulations were conducted on a two-area, 12-bus multi-machine power system. Simulation results demonstrate that the presented excitation system stabilizer outperforms conventional controllers in terms of transient and small-signal stability. It also suppresses the low-frequency electromechanical oscillations within the multimachine energy system.","PeriodicalId":510138,"journal":{"name":"Fractal and Fractional","volume":" 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141830493","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, network delays and jitter in real systems introduce uncertainties that can compromise synchronization accuracy. Three clock skew estimators designed for the PTP scenario were obtained in our earlier work, complemented by closed-form approximations for the Mean Squared Error (MSE) under the generalized fractional Gaussian noise (gfGn) model, incorporating the Hurst exponent parameter (H) and the a parameter. These expressions offer crucial insights for network designers, aiding in the strategic selection and implementation of clock skew estimators. However, substantial computational resources are required to fit each expression to the gfGn model parameters (H and a) from the MSE perspective requirement. This paper introduces new closed-form estimates that approximate the MSE tailored to match gfGn scenarios that have a lower computational burden compared to the literature-known expressions and that are easily adaptable from the computational burden point of view to different pairs of H and a parameters. Thus, the system requires less substantial computational resources and might be more cost-effective.","PeriodicalId":510138,"journal":{"name":"Fractal and Fractional","volume":" 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141828927","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The influence of the order of fractional calculus on chaotic systems’ dynamical behavior is examined using phase diagrams, bifurcation diagrams, and SE complexity diagrams. Then, the principles and methods for determining the frequencies and amplitudes of weak signals are examined utilizing fractional-order multi-wing chaotic systems. The findings indicate that the lowest order at which this kind of fractional-order multi-wing chaotic system appears chaotic is 2.625 at a=4, b=8, and c=1, and that this value decreases as the driving force increases. The four-wing and double-wing change dynamics phenomenon will manifest in a fractional-order chaotic system when the order exceeds the lowest order. This phenomenon can be utilized to detect weak signal amplitudes and frequencies because the system parameters control it. A detection array is built to determine the amplitude using the noise-resistant properties of both four-wing and double-wing chaotic states. Deep learning images are then used to identify the change in the array’s wing count, which can be used to determine the test signal’s amplitude. When frequencies detection is required, the MUSIC method estimates the frequencies using chaotic synchronization to transform the weak signal’s frequencies to the synchronization error’s frequencies. This solution adds to the contact between fractional-order calculus and chaos theory. It offers suggestions for practically implementing the chaotic weak signal detection theory in conjunction with deep learning.","PeriodicalId":510138,"journal":{"name":"Fractal and Fractional","volume":"74 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141643233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study delves into the investigation of chaos patterns and solitary wave solutions for the (2+1) Beta-fractional double-chain DNA system, employing the theory of planar dynamical systems and the method of complete discrimination system for polynomials (CDSP). The results demonstrate a diverse spectrum of solitary wave solutions, sensitivity to perturbations, and manifestations of chaotic behavior within the system. Through the utilization of the complete discrimination system for polynomials, a multitude of novel solitary wave solutions, encompassing periodic, solitary wave, and Jacobian elliptic function solutions, were systematically constructed. The influence of Beta derivatives on the solutions was elucidated through parameter comparison analysis, emphasizing the innovative nature of this study. These findings underscore the potential of this system in unraveling various biologically significant DNA transmission mechanisms.","PeriodicalId":510138,"journal":{"name":"Fractal and Fractional","volume":"12 22","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141646073","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed scheme integrates a reaching phase-free integral backstepping method with an integral terminal fractional-order sliding mode to ensure finite-time stability at the desired equilibria. The core of the algorithm is built around proportional-integral-based nonlinear virtual control laws that are systematically designed in a backstepping manner. A fractional-order integral terminal sliding mode is introduced in the final step of the design, enhancing the robustness of the overall system. The robust nonlinear control algorithm developed in this study guarantees zero steady-state errors at each step while also providing robustness against matched uncertain disturbances. The stability of the control scheme at each step is rigorously proven using the Lyapunov candidate function to ensure theoretical soundness. To demonstrate the practicality and benefits of the proposed control strategy, simulation results are provided for two systems: a cart–pendulum system and quadcopter UAV. These simulations illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme in real-world scenarios. Additionally, the results are compared with those from the standard literature to highlight the superior performance and appealing nature of the proposed approach for underactuated nonlinear systems. This comparison underscores the advantages of the proposed method in terms of achieving robust and stable control in complex systems.","PeriodicalId":510138,"journal":{"name":"Fractal and Fractional","volume":"18 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141649443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, escape criteria are used to determine the dynamics of fractal patterns through various iterative techniques. Taking motivation from this fact, we generate and analyze fractals as an application of the proposed Mann iterative technique with h-convexity. By doing so, we develop an escape criterion for it. Using this established criterion, we set the algorithm for fractal generation. We use the complex function f(x)=xn+ct, with n≥2,c∈C and t∈R to generate and compare fractals using both the Mann iteration and Mann iteration with h-convexity. We generalize the Mann iterative scheme using the convexity parameter h(α)=α2 and provide the detailed representations of quadratic and cubic fractals. Our comparative analysis consistently proved that the Mann iteration with h-convexity significantly outperforms the standard Mann iteration scheme regarding speed and efficiency. It is noticeable that the average number of iterations required to perform the task using Mann iteration with h-convexity is significantly less than the classical Mann iteration scheme. Moreover, the relationship between the fractal patterns and the input parameters of the proposed iteration is extremely intricate.","PeriodicalId":510138,"journal":{"name":"Fractal and Fractional","volume":"37 13","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141649157","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, the fractal and chaotic structure of the selected variables was explored. Asymmetric Cantor set, Boundary of the Dragon curve, Julia set z2 −1, Boundary of the Lévy C curve, von Koch curve, and Brownian function (Wiener process) tests were applied. The R/S and Mandelbrot–Wallis tests confirmed long-term dependence and fractionality. The largest Lyapunov test, the Rosenstein, Collins and DeLuca, and Kantz methods of Lyapunov exponents, and the HCT and Shannon entropy tests tracked by the Kolmogorov–Sinai (KS) complexity test determined the evidence of chaos, entropy, and complexity. The BDS test of independence test approved nonlinearity, and the TeraesvirtaNW and WhiteNW tests, the Tsay test for nonlinearity, the LR test for threshold nonlinearity, and White’s test and Engle test confirmed nonlinearity and heteroskedasticity, in addition to fractionality and chaos. In the second stage, the standard ARFIMA method was applied, and its results were compared to the LieNLS and LieOLS methods. The results showed that, under conditions of chaos, entropy, and complexity, the ARFIMA method did not yield successful results. Both baseline models, LieNLS and LieOLS, are enhanced by integrating them with deep learning methods. The models, LieLSTMOLS and LieLSTMNLS, leverage manifold-based approaches, opting for matrix representations over traditional differential operator representations of Lie algebras were employed. The parameters and coefficients obtained from LieNLS and LieOLS, and the LieLSTMOLS and LieLSTMNLS methods were compared. And the forecasting capabilities of these hybrid models, particularly LieLSTMOLS and LieLSTMNLS, were compared with those of the main models. The in-sample and out-of-sample analyses demonstrated that the LieLSTMOLS and LieLSTMNLS methods outperform the others in terms of MAE and RMSE, thereby offering a more reliable means of assessing the selected data. Our study underscores the importance of employing the LieLSTM method for analyzing the dynamics of bitcoin. Our findings have significant implications for investors, traders, and policymakers.","PeriodicalId":510138,"journal":{"name":"Fractal and Fractional","volume":"14 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141648103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
