The study was carried out on Charles Foster Rats after the approval from Institutional Animal Ethics Committee. A total of n=18, rats (12 weeks old) of an average weight of 160 ± 20 g were used for the study. The study group included n=6 control and n= 12 treated with sodium arsenite orally at the dose of 8mg/Kg b.w daily for 40 days. The n= 6 animals were dissected and rest n=6 was administered orally with Curcuma longa rhizome ethanolic extract at the dose of 600mg/Kg b.w per day for 40 days. At the end of the entire experiment, all the animals were dissected out and their reproductive organs were taken out, especially epididymis for sperm counts, sperm motility, sperm mortality, sperm morphology. The blood samples were collected for the hormonal assay (testosterone and luteinizing hormone), as well as for hematological and biochemical analysis. The study showed, high magnitude of degeneration in the reproductive organs of the rats in the arsenic treated group. There were degenerative fluctuations in the sperm counts, sperm motility, sperm mortality, sperm morphology and in the hormonal parameters, as well as in the hematological and biochemical parameters in the arsenic treated rats. But, after the administration of Curcuma longa, there was significant amelioration in all these parameters. Therefore, the present study shows that Curcuma longa plays vital role to combat arsenic induced male reproductive toxicity.","PeriodicalId":509303,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Zoology","volume":"81 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140251879","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Chronic arsenic exposure from drinking water to humans causes major public health-related issues. The present study was conducted to investigate the antidote effects of Foeniculum vulgare (Fennel) against arsenic-induced hepatotoxicity and testicular toxicity in Charles Foster rats. In the present study, twenty-four male Charles Foster rats (120±5gm) were divided into four Groups (n=6), where control Group-I received a normal diet and water; Group - II and Group - III received sodium arsenite (8 mg per kg body weight per day) for 90 days. Group III was left with a normal diet and water for the next 60 days for auto-recovery. The group IV rats were administered Foeniculum vulgare (Funnel) hydroxyl ethanolic seed extract at a dose of 150 mg per kg body weight for 60 days in a 90-day pre-treated sodium arsenite group (8 mg per kg body weight). After complete dose duration, all the treated animals were sacrificed the same day for haematological, biochemical, hormonal, and histopathological studies. In the arsenic treated rats, there were significant (p<0.001) changes in serum levels of SGPT, SGOT, urea, uric acid and creatinine as well as in haematological parameters. And there was also decease in the sperm count and sperm motility, accompanied by an increased incidence of sperm abnormalities and hormonal imbalances leading to infertility. In contrast, after the administration of F. vulgare seeds hydroxy-ethanolic extract to arsenic-treated rats, significant (p<0.001) improvements were observed in hepatic and renal parameters as well as haematological parameters. In the arsenic-intoxicant rat, after administration of F. vulgare seeds hydroxyl ethanolic extract, there was a significant (p<001) reduction in the arsenic concentration in blood, liver, and kidney tissues as well as serum LPO. The histopathological study also showed the F. vulgare seeds hydroxy-ethanolic extract significantly restored the cellular integrity of testicular cells, leading to their normal functioning against arsenic-induced toxicity.","PeriodicalId":509303,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Zoology","volume":"3 s1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140254025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, the Methylene Blue (MB) loaded Carrageenan polymeric film was prepared by the method of direct addition of MB into pre-polymerization solution of Carrageenan (KC). This composite film and plain KC film were characterized by FTIR, XRD and SEM analysis. The characteristic peaks of MB photosensitizer were obtained in FTIR spectrum of composite film. The composite film KC/MB shows prominence of amorphous nature may be due to MB is present in very small quantity. The SEM analysis reveals that the composite film (KC/MB) having much more smooth surface texture throughout the film. Finally, the result of effect of variation in degree of crosslinking on amount of MB release is, as the amount of K+ ions used to crosslink the film increases, MB release decreases.","PeriodicalId":509303,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Zoology","volume":"2 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140255301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Understanding the cow's rumen microbiome can provide valuable insights for devising effective emission reduction strategies. Despite the recognized environmental impact of methane emissions from cows, however, a systematic review on the cow rumen microbiome has not yet been done. This study aims to fill this gap by performing an unbiased bibliometric analysis to review the effect of the rumen microbiome on methane emissions through cross-check of multiple data sources. While the bibliometric analysis offers a quantitative approach to assess research trends and identify areas of potential exploration within the field of the cow rumen microbiome, this study also evaluated the concurrently growing interest in the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, specifically ChatGPT by OpenAI in terms of its efficacy and accuracy in enhancing scientific research project. Through the fusion of conventional research methodologies and AI-driven insights, this study aspires to provide a holistic perspective on the cow rumen microbiome's profound influence on methane emissions, while also exploring the untapped potential of AI in advancing scientific inquiry.","PeriodicalId":509303,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Zoology","volume":"267 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140255883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a spectrum of metabolic illnesses definite by continually increased blood glucose levels. Undiagnosed diabetes can lead to a variety of difficulties, including retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, and other vascular abnormalities. In this context, machine learning (ML) technologies may be mainly useful for early disease identification, diagnosis, and therapy monitoring. The core idea of this study is to detect the strong ML algorithm to forecast it. For this numerous ML algorithms were chosen i.e., support vector machine (SVM), Naïve Bayes (NB), K nearest neighbor (KNN), random forest (RF), logistic regression (LR), and decision tree (DT), according to this work. Two, Pima Indian diabetic (PID) and Germany diabetes datasets were used and the research was implemented using Waikato environment for knowledge analysis (WEKA) 3.8.6 tool. This research discussed performance matrices and error rates of classifiers for both datasets. The outcomes showed that for the PID database (PIDD), SVM works improved with an accuracy of 74% whereas for Germany RF and KNN work improved with 98.7% accuracy. However, several diseases and pests cause significant damages to different parts of mango trees and mango fruits, resulting in severe economic losses to farmers and the agricultural sector. Some of the major mango diseases are anthracnose, powdery mildew, die back, and mango malformation. These diseases affect various parts of mango tree, including leaves, flowers, fruits, stems, and roots. The causative organisms of mango diseases include fungi, bacteria, and viruses. Of these, the majority is caused by fungi. Some of the common fungal diseases of mango include anthracnose, powdery mildew, stem-end rot, and sooty mould. Therefore, it is a pressing need to accurately identify the causative organisms for determination of the best management strategy for an effective control. To manage mango diseases, farmers and researchers use several approaches, including cultural practices, chemical control, biological control, and genetic resistance. In this article, the major mango diseases, damage patterns, and management strategies for sustainable mango production has been critically reviewed and presented.","PeriodicalId":509303,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Zoology","volume":"37 22","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140259496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
