Erectile dysfunction, characterized by the inability to achieve and sustain an erection for good sexual activity, affects the physical and psychological well-being of individuals and their partners. However, research on the impact of renal transplantation on erectile dysfunction has yielded conflicting results. Understanding the beneficial impacts of renal transplantation on erectile dysfunction could potentially lead to more successful outcomes.\u0000Methods: Adhering to the PRISMA 2020 standards, this systematic investigation sought to examine complete English literature texts published from 2004 until 2024. Only editorials and review articles that had a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and were published in the same magazine as the submission were considered for acceptance. We utilized many sources, such as ScienceDirect, PubMed, and SagePub, to acquire the literature.\u0000Result: The study examined over 40 papers sourced from reliable venues like Science Direct, SagePub, and PubMed. After selecting eight papers for further scrutiny, a comprehensive analysis of the complete corpus of literature was conducted.\u0000Conclusion: Renal transplantation has shown significant improvement in erectile function in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), with a lower prevalence of erectile dysfunction and higher function scores. Factors such as pretransplantation IIEF-5 score, age, and anastomosis to the common iliac artery have significant associations with improved erectile function. However, the exact mechanism behind this effect remains unclear.","PeriodicalId":507661,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Research in Medical and Health Science (ISSN 2208-2425)","volume":" 29","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141827782","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, 107 questionnaires were analyzed. The questionnaire aimed to identify the pain during and appointments based on providers’ and patients experience. The replies of the patients were calculated using frequency.\u0000Result: A comparison was also conducted, focusing on the average responses from all of the providers and patients. The independent sample t-tests showed the estimation of the providers regarding the last appointment of their patients. The providers asked their patients how much pain they were experiencing (2.93 versus 2.50; P.056). Following this, a comparison was made regarding the pain that patients experienced immediately after the last appointment (3.83 versus 3.62; P.047), as well as one day after the treatment (3.72 versus 3.48; P.006) and two days after the last appointment (3.19 versus 3.08; P .001). Last but not least, it is demonstrated that at today's appointment, difference was (2.13 vs 2.28; P .425).\u0000Conclusions: Finding out whether or not orthodontists are aware that their patients take pain medication and whether or not patient reports of their pain are compatible with orthodontists' assessments of their patients' pain levels are crucial.","PeriodicalId":507661,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Research in Medical and Health Science (ISSN 2208-2425)","volume":"119 38","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141667495","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tuberculous spondylitis or Pott's disease is an infection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in the vertebrae (extrapulmonary tuberculosis). The early diagnosis of tuberculous spondylitis is difficult and often confused with spinal neoplasms or other pyogenic spondylitis. Case presentation: Our patient admitted to Dr. Ramelan Navy Hospital Surabaya with the chief complaint of bump in the lower right back since 4 months before entering the hospital, the bump felt painful (and a Wong- Baker pain scale of 4) when coughing and when touched, lump palpable with a soft consistency and 12 cm in diameter. Patient can move their legs freely and there are no limitations on the patient's range of motion. Defecate and urinate within normal limits. This patient has demonstrated a stable deformity with severe kyphosis with a 27 sagittal angulation without any neurological deficits.Conclusions: This report highlights to clinicians the value of a high index of suspicion and careful history taking in tuberculous spondylitis; and how a combination of nonspecific findings helped reach an early diagnosis. Because the clinical manifestations of TB spondylitis differ, various methods, including thoracolumbosacral X-ray and MRI with contrast, are required to confirm the disease. Beyond significant ocular morbidity, DED's association with systemic autoimmune disorders, impact on quality of life, and links to psychological and sleep disorders underscore its extensive repercussions. This systematic review aims to comprehensively explore an integrated approach to managing DED, emphasizing preventive and promotive strategies across various levels of healthcare. \u0000Method: The researchers in this study followed the 2020 Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines to ensure that their work met the required standards. After looking at the titles and summaries, we found 6 papers that fit our criteria. At first, we excluded several articles because they were written in review style and case reports. These papers included a retrospective observational study, prospective study, and double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial, and prospective interventional pilot study. \u0000Conclusion: In summary, a study suggests that OPT-IPL (Optilight Intense Pulse Light) treatment enhances tear film lipid layer (TFLL) and improves signs and symptoms of dry eye disease (DED) by enhancing meibomian gland function. The phase 3 trial with NOV03 provides compelling evidence of reduced DED signs and symptoms over 8 weeks, demonstrating statistical and clinical significance, with good tolerability. Additionally, the ESSENCE-2 trial highlights the efficacy of a water-free cyclosporine solution in improving ocular surface staining associated with DED, showcasing potential advantages over existing therapies.
