The existing difference in level at the intake makes it necessary to regulate the flow at the plant inlet by means of a valve, for which, prior to the development of the generation installation, a gate valve was used.\u0000In order to take advantage of the existing difference in level, a 6 kW micro-generation system was put into service using a PaT supported by a butterfly valve for flow regulation. The main reasons for choosing this generation system were the high cost of small turbines for the characteristics of the hydraulic connection of the DWTS and the limited availability of this type of device. The system is in service and being monitored by a SCADA since July 2019 so there is a relevant amount of records that allows analyzing different operating conditions.\u0000In the sizing of a BUTU system it is necessary to estimate the behavior as a turbine since the pump manufacturer only provides data in operation as a pump. There is a large literature proposing methods for estimating the performance of BUTU systems, however, the most widely accepted methods are those validated experimentally, as intended in this article.\u0000Keywords: PaT, renewable generation, micro-hydraulics

Pyrolysis allows gaseous hydrocarbons to be processed without directly emitting CO2, as it is carried out in the absence of oxygen, allowing its integration into the circular economy concept by producing two recoverable elements, such as solid carbon and hydrogen. It is currently classified as a form of turquoise hydrogen generation, as it shares characteristics of green hydrogen, as it does not emit carbon dioxide in the process, and blue hydrogen, as its primary resource is natural gas. There are several technological options to carry out the pyrolysis of natural gas, ranging from direct thermolysis, through the use of catalysts, the use of plasma arcs, or the development of hydrocarbon decomposition in liquid reaction media, such as molten salts or liquid metals. This communication will describe the main remains for the development of pyrolysis reactors with liquid metals, which are currently at Technology Readiness Level around TRL4, in order to advance towards industrially viable and competitive prototypes and demonstrators. That development requires creating numerical models that can be used for the engineering design of pyrolysis reactors. The design tools for this case must be capable of coupling multiphase and multicomponent fluid-mechanical evaluation, which takes into account the evolution of a gaseous phase (natural gas) into a liquid phase (liquid metal) with the formation of solids (carbon). The fluid dynamic calculation runs into the lack of experimental data that allow its validation, which becomes a critical aspect to be able to estimate the chemical kinetics of the reaction itself. This kinetics strongly depends on the residence time of the gas in the medium, and on the temperature. In this communication, those relations between the fluid-mechanical and chemical model that would allow the evaluation of the conversion of natural gas to hydrogen and carbon in the design of the reactor are analyzed. As a result, a series of experiments are proposed to validate these design tools for the pyrolysis process in liquid metal.\u0000Keywords: Decarbonization, Hydrogen, Circular economy, Carbon

However, most solutions are not commercially available, require expensive infrastructure, lack intelligence, or do not cover 100% of road users. To reduce this gap, this work presents a speed bump with intelligent light signalling that detects both pedestrians and vehicles on zebra crossings. The system is made up of low-cost prefabricated nodes with maturity level TRL8 that can be adapted to any type of road. As main novelty, this paper describes the materials and methods used to manufacture speed bumps with mixtures of resins, aggregates and reinforcing fibers injected cold on aluminium mould. As a result of the tests, a compromise between hardness, resistance and elasticity with IP68 rating was reached. This makes it possible to ensure the mechanical and optical operation of the system without the need for external power supplies and with an acceptable manufacturing cost.\u0000Key Words: speed reducer, road safety, pedestrian crossing, intelligent system, mechanical characterization

The head and neck inertial parameters are obtained through regression equations and refined through a calibration process to improve accuracy. Head movement is recorded through video photogrammetry, where marker coordinates are used to calculate finite displacements, linear and angular velocities, and accelerations. An inverse dynamics approach is used to estimate the forces and moments at the C7 vertebral level and the generated muscle power. The model was validated through an experimental study with 30 participants, where its estimates were compared to the measurements obtained from a force platform. The comparison aimed to assess the accuracy and reliability of the model. In this paper, and the load sharing ratio (LSR) and overall transmission error (TE) of a two-stage double-helical planetary gear train are studied. Firstly, the static balance equations of the double-helical planetary gear train are established. Then, the LSR under different mesh phasing and the overall TE are obtained by solving the equations. Finally, different errors such as pinhole position and eccentricity error are taken into consideration and the influence of errors on load sharing ratio and transmission error are analyzed. The results show that the excitation frequency of transmission error is related to the number of planet gears and mesh phasing and the LSR is related to the mesh phasing, especially to the sequentially phased transmission. It is also concluded that the excitation frequency of the output element of the two stages can be seen as the superposition of the mesh frequencies of each stage and that the studied errors have a significant impact on the LSR and the TE.\u0000\u0000Keywords: Double-helical planetary gear; Meshing phase; Load Sharing Ratio, Transmission Error.

In fact, with a few exceptions, current buildings are not the kind of habitats belonged to today. Due to the development of innovative materials, products and construction methods, the construction of environmentally friendly buildings with better economic efficiency seems essential. The present study seeks to provide simple and practical solutions to reduce energy consumption and develop comfort in residential buildings in cities influenced by hot climatic conditions. To this end, a 4-storey residential building in the city of Ahvaz, Iran, is simulated by Design Builder Software (which uses Energy plus engine) to investigate the impact of alternative roofing and facade materials, awning, windows, and others, on energy efficiency. The results show that using rockwool and aluminum composite panels (ACP) facade, pumice concrete roofing, double glazed windows, vertical awning of a 70 cm height, and a balcony of 50 cm depth are the best composition to thermal reinforcement for residential buildings and decrease energy consumption. For this reason, the application of circular economy criteria that are committed to the development of new, more sustainable construction materials has become one of the major challenges included in the European Green Pact. In this research, the physical and mechanical characterisation of a new plaster composite material with the incorporation of recycled rubber granular particles and glass wool waste fibres has been carried out. It has been possible to replace up to 30% of the original plaster material with recycled raw material, improving the thermal behaviour of the prefabricated plaster plates. In addition, good mechanical performance has been obtained and the weight of the precast elements has been reduced. Finally, using the FlexSim simulation software, different scenarios have been examined which have permitted to know the increases in productivity in the manufacturing process derived from the use of these lightened sustainable materials, as well as to verify the reduction in fuel consumption (litres/plate) and CO2 emissions during transport.
