It is more common in adult males. These tumors are often difficult to diagnose because of their diverse histology.\u0000CASE REPORT: We are presenting a case of right sided SNTCS in a 38-year-old male patient. The patient had a history of right sided nasal obstruction associated with recurrent episodes of epistaxis for last 3 months. On examination, a solid mass was noted in the right nasal cavity that was greyish black in colour, irregularly shaped, brittle, exhibits localized surface necrosis and bleeds easily on touch. Microscopic examination revealed an admixture of carcinomatous (glands, non keratinized squamous epithelia), sarcomatous (atypical spindle cells, smooth muscle), primitive neuroectodermal and teratoid elements (immature squamous and clear cell nests).\u0000CONCLUSION: SNTCSs are highly aggressive tumors with poor prognosis. Majority of the patients do not survive beyond 3 years. Complete excision and extensive sampling are necessary for their diagnosis. However, because of their aggressive nature, aggressive treatment approach of surgery with adjuvant chemo-radiation is more beneficial than surgical excision alone.\u0000\u0000Keywords: adeno-squamous carcinoma, epistaxis, immunohistochemistry, olfactory neuroblastoma, paranasal sinus, sinonasal mass, teratocarcinosarcoma

This study attempted to reveal the association between the preoperative CC in thoracolumbar burst fracture undergoing posterior spinal decompression – stabilization – fusion, with postoperative neurological outcome.\u0000Methods: This study adopts a retrospective design, utilizing the medical and radiological records of total of 50 patients (41 males and nine females), with an average age of 42.4 ± 13.57 years. It divided into a case group (comprising 25 patients without neurological improvement) and a control group (consisting of 25 patients with neurological improvement). Consecutive sampling was applied to individuals meeting the predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Canal compromise (CC) and the initial neurological function of all participants were assessed in the preoperative period, with a subsequent evaluation of the final neurological function conducted at a minimum of six months postoperatively. Statistical analysis involved descriptive analysis and the Chi-Square test, with the cut-off point determined through Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis.\u0000Results: The Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis identified 40% as the cut-off point distinguishing between low and high canal compromise (CC). Univariate Chi-Square test analysis revealed a statistically significant difference in CC as a risk factor for postoperative neurological deficit. CC exceeding 40% is significantly associated with a relatively worse postoperative neurological outcome (p < 0.001; odds ratio [OR] 21).\u0000Conclusion: A high preoperative canal compromise (CC) emerges as a direct risk factor for the absence of neurological improvement in patients with thoracolumbar burst fractures, indicating that higher CC is significantly associated with a relatively poorer prognosis.\u0000\u0000Keywords: thoracolumbar burst fracture, canal compromise, neurological deficit

Despite significant advances in science and medicine, there is no cure for osteoarthritis. Numerous treatment options have been used for management of osteoarthritis including pharmacological and invasive techniques. Regenerative therapy like Platelet rich plasma and Prolotherapy are being extensively studied due to their ability to regenerate and repair damaged tissues.\u0000Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of platelet rich plasma injection in comparison with dextrose prolotherapy on improving pain and function in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee.\u0000Study Design: Randomized controlled trial\u0000Methods: A single blind randomized controlled clinical trial was carried out in the Department of Sports Medicine, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal between September 2022 to February 2024. A total of 92 patients were recruited and block of four randomization was done for allotment of the study participants. The outcome measures were visual analog scale (VAS) and Western Ontario Mac Master Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) score. For descriptive statistics mean, standard deviation and frequency were used. Student’s t-test and Chi square tests were used for analysis of different variables. A p-value <0.05 was taken as significant.\u0000Results: The 2 groups were homogeneous in terms of baseline characteristics like age, sex, side of affection and duration of symptoms (Table 1). The outcome variables of VAS and WOMAC score at baseline were not significant (Table 2). The mean age of the participants was 63.18 ± 5.15 in years. The mean duration of symptoms was 10.16 ± 1.22 in months. Between the groups comparison at the end of 4 weeks showed that there was no statistically significant reduction in the mean difference of outcome measures from baseline.
