A possible explanation for the increase in the mass\u0000function can be the presence of a local maximum (bump) in the power spectrum of\u0000density perturbations on the corresponding scale. In this paper, it is shown\u0000that simultaneously with the growth of the mass function, galaxies from the\u0000bump region must have a higher density (compactness) compared to cosmological\u0000models without a bump. These more compact galaxies have been partially included\u0000in larger galaxies and have been subjected to tidal gravitational disruption.\u0000They have been less destructed than ``ordinary'' galaxies of the same mass, and\u0000some of them could survive to $z = 0$ and persist on the periphery of some\u0000galaxies. The formation and evolution of compact halos in a cube with a volume\u0000of $(47 ,text{Mpc})^3$ with $(1024)^3$ dark matter particles in the redshift\u0000range from 120 to 0 have been numerically simulated and observational\u0000implications of the presence of such galaxies in the current Universe have been\u0000discussed.

We examine a class of such spacetimes that maintain\u0000homogeneity but break isotropy through their underlying local spatial\u0000geometries. These spacetimes are endowed with one of five anisotropic model\u0000geometries of Thurston's geometrization theorem, and their evolution is sourced\u0000with perfect fluid dust and cosmological constant. We show that the background\u0000evolution of these spacetimes induces fluctuations in the observed cosmic\u0000microwave background (CMB) temperature with amplitudes coupled to the curvature\u0000parameter $Omega_K$. In order for these fluctuations to be compatible with the\u0000observed CMB angular power spectrum, we find $|Omega_K| lesssim 10^{-5}$ is\u0000required in all five geometries, with two geometries requiring $|Omega_K|\u0000lesssim 10^{-10}$. This strongly limits the cosmological consequences of these\u0000models.

Many techniques have been developed to\u0000model this connection, from Halo Occupation Distribution (HOD) to empirical and\u0000semi-analytic models to hydrodynamic. Hydrodynamic simulations can incorporate\u0000more detailed astrophysical processes but are computationally expensive; HODs,\u0000on the other hand, are computationally cheap but have limited accuracy. In this\u0000work, we present NeHOD, a generative framework based on variational diffusion\u0000model and Transformer, for painting galaxies/subhalos on top of DM with an\u0000accuracy of hydrodynamic simulations but at a computational cost similar to\u0000HOD. By modeling galaxies/subhalos as point clouds, instead of binning or\u0000voxelization, we can resolve small spatial scales down to the resolution of the\u0000simulations. For each halo, NeHOD predicts the positions, velocities, masses,\u0000and concentrations of its central and satellite galaxies. We train NeHOD on the\u0000TNG-Warm DM suite of the DREAMS project, which consists of 1024 high-resolution\u0000zoom-in hydrodynamic simulations of Milky Way-mass halos with varying warm DM\u0000mass and astrophysical parameters. We show that our model captures the complex\u0000relationships between subhalo properties as a function of the simulation\u0000parameters, including the mass functions, stellar-halo mass relations,\u0000concentration-mass relations, and spatial clustering. Our method can be used\u0000for a large variety of downstream applications, from galaxy clustering to\u0000strong lensing studies.

We use the\u0000DEMNUni-Cov $N$-body simulations to assess how well the WL mass probes the true\u0000halo mass, and, then, how well WL masses can be recovered in the presence of\u0000measurement uncertainties. We consider different halo mass density models,\u0000priors, and mass point estimates. WL mass differs from true mass due to, e.g.,\u0000the intrinsic ellipticity of sources, correlated or uncorrelated matter and\u0000large-scale structure, halo triaxiality and orientation, and merging or\u0000irregular morphology. In an ideal scenario without observational or measurement\u0000errors, the maximum likelihood estimator is the most accurate, with WL masses\u0000biased low by $langle b_M rangle = -14.6 pm 1.7 , %$ on average over the\u0000full range $M_text{200c} > 5 times 10^{13} , M_odot$ and $z < 1$. Due to\u0000the stabilising effect of the prior, the biweight, mean, and median estimates\u0000are more precise. The scatter decreases with increasing mass and informative\u0000priors significantly reduce the scatter. Halo mass density profiles with a\u0000truncation provide better fits to the lensing signal, while the accuracy and\u0000precision are not significantly affected. We further investigate the impact of\u0000additional sources of systematic uncertainty on the WL mass, namely the impact\u0000of photometric redshift uncertainties and source selection, the expected\u0000performance of Euclid cluster detection algorithms, and the presence of masks.\u0000Taken in isolation, we find that the largest effect is induced by\u0000non-conservative source selection. This effect can be mostly removed with a\u0000robust selection. As a final Euclid-like test, we combine systematic effects\u0000in a realistic observational setting and find results similar to the ideal\u0000case, $langle b_M rangle = - 15.5 pm 2.4 , %$, under a robust selection.

We expand the available model space of each, using\u0000Crossing Statistics, and test the compatibility of each dataset, against the\u0000other two. This is done using (I) a Flat $Lambda$CDM fitting to, and (II)\u0000Iterative Smoothing from, one particular dataset, and determining the level of\u0000deformation by required to fit the other two. This allows us to test the mutual\u0000consistency of the datasets both within the standard model and in the case of\u0000some extended model, motivated by features present in a particular dataset. We\u0000find that, in both these cases, the data are only consistent with the point in\u0000the parameter space corresponding to zero deformation, at around a $2sigma$\u0000level, with the DES compilation showing the largest disagreement. However, all\u0000three datasets are still found to be consistent to within $1-2sigma$ for some\u0000subset of the extended model space implied by the deformations.

Specifically, we construct a mock\u0000photometry dataset degraded by the Rubin OpSim observing conditions, and\u0000estimate photometric redshifts of the sample using a template-fitting photo-$z$\u0000estimator, BPZ, and a machine learning method, FlexZBoost. We select the Gold\u0000sample, defined as $i<25.3$ for 10 year LSST data, with an adjusted magnitude\u0000cut for each year and divide it into five tomographic redshift bins for the\u0000weak lensing lens and source samples. We quantify the change in the number of\u0000objects, mean redshift, and width of each tomographic bin as a function of the\u0000coadd $i$-band depth for 1-year (Y1), 3-year (Y3), and 5-year (Y5) data. In\u0000particular, Y3 and Y5 have large non-uniformity due to the rolling cadence of\u0000LSST, hence provide a worst-case scenario of the impact from non-uniformity. We\u0000find that these quantities typically increase with depth, and the variation can\u0000be $10-40%$ at extreme depth values. Based on these results and using Y3 as an\u0000example, we propagate the variable depth effect to the weak lensing\u0000$3times2$pt data vector in harmonic space. We find that galaxy clustering is\u0000most susceptible to variable depth, causing significant deviations at large\u0000scales if not corrected for, due to the depth-dependent number density\u0000variations. For galaxy-shear and shear-shear power spectra, we find little\u0000impact given the expected LSST Y3 noise.

HellyICC
We present results from the latest version of the GAEA model of galaxy\u0000formation coupled with merger trees extracted from the P-Millennium Simulation\u0000(PMS), which provides a better mass resolution, a larger volume and assumes\u0000cosmological parameters consistent with latest results from the Planck mission.\u0000The model includes, at the same time, a treatment for the partition of cold gas\u0000into atomic and molecular (H$_2$) components; a better treatment for\u0000environmental processes acting on satellite galaxies; an updated modelling of\u0000cold gas accretion on Super-Massive Black Hole and relative AGN feedback on the\u0000host galaxy. We compare GAEA predictions based on the PMS, with model\u0000realizations based on other simulations in the Millennium Suite at different\u0000resolution, showing that the new model provides a remarkable consistency in the\u0000statistical properties of galaxy populations. We interpret this as due to the\u0000interplay between AGN feedback and H$_2$-based SFR (both acting as regulators\u0000of the cold gas content). We then compare model predictions with available data\u0000for the galaxy 2-point correlation function (2pCF) in the redshift range 0<z<3.\u0000We show that GAEA runs are able to correctly recover the main dependencies of\u0000the 2pCF as a function of stellar mass (M$_star$), star formation activity,\u0000HI-content and redshift for M$_star$ < 10$^{11}$ M$_odot$ galaxies. Our model\u0000correctly captures both the distribution of galaxy populations in the Large\u0000Scale Structure and the interplay between the main physical processes\u0000regulating their baryonic content, both for central and satellite galaxies. At\u0000larger stellar masses GAEA underpredicts the 2pCF amplitude, suggesting that\u0000model massive galaxies live in less massive dark matter haloes. The model\u0000predicts a rather small redshift evolution of the clustering amplitude up to\u0000z$sim$3, consistent with available observational evidence.

Using\u0000rapid lightcone simulations, ${rm L{scriptsize -PICOLA}}$, mock galaxy\u0000catalogs are produced that fully incorporate the observational effects. The\u0000collection of galaxies is fed as input to a point cloud-based network,\u0000${texttt{Minkowski-PointNet}}$. We also add relatively more accurate ${rm\u0000G{scriptsize ADGET}}$ mocks to obtain robust and generalizable neural\u0000networks. By explicitly learning the representations which reduces the\u0000discrepancies between the two different datasets via the semantic alignment\u0000loss term, we show that the latent space configuration aligns into a single\u0000plane in which the two cosmological parameters form clear axes. Consequently,\u0000during inference, the SDSS BOSS LOWZ NGC catalog maps onto the plane,\u0000demonstrating effective generalization and improving prediction accuracy\u0000compared to non-generalized models. Results from the ensemble of 25\u0000independently trained machines find $Omega_{rm m}=0.339 pm 0.056$ and\u0000$sigma_{8}=0.801 pm 0.061$, inferred only from the distribution of galaxies\u0000in the lightcone slices without relying on any indirect summary statistics. A\u0000single machine that best adapts to the ${rm G{scriptsize ADGET}}$ mocks\u0000yields a tighter prediction of $Omega_{rm m}=0.282 pm 0.014$ and\u0000$sigma_{8}=0.786 pm 0.036$. We emphasize that adaptation across multiple\u0000domains can enhance the robustness of the neural networks in observational\u0000data.

We find that the linear\u0000quasi-adiabatic relaxation with additional dependence on the halo-centric\u0000distance provides a good description not only at $z=0$, but also at an earlier\u0000epoch ($z=1$) in the IllustrisTNG simulation suite, with parameters being more\u0000universal across a much larger variety of haloes at $z=1$ than at $z=0$.\u0000Through systematic analysis of a large collection of simulations from the\u0000CAMELS project, we find that the baryonic prescriptions for both AGN and\u0000stellar feedbacks have a strong influence on the relaxation response of the\u0000dark matter halo. In particular, only the parameters controlling the overall\u0000feedback energy flux have an effect on the relaxation response, while the wind\u0000speed and burstiness have negligible effect on the relaxation at a fixed amount\u0000of energy flux. However, the exact role of these parameters on the relaxation\u0000depends on the redshift. We also study the role of a variety of baryonic\u0000astrophysical processes through the EAGLE physics variation simulations. While\u0000these depict a similar picture regarding the importance of feedback effects,\u0000they also reveal that the gas equation of state has one of the strongest\u0000influences on the relaxation response, consistent with the expectation from\u0000self-similar analyses.

By solving the\u0000Mukhanov-Sasaki equation and the tensor perturbation equation with Green's\u0000function techniques, we extend the PPS calculations to third-order corrections,\u0000providing a comprehensive perturbative expansion in terms of slow-roll\u0000parameters. We investigate the accuracy of the analytic predictions with the\u0000numerical solutions of the perturbation equations for a selection of\u0000single-field slow-roll inflationary models. We derive the constraints on the\u0000Hubble flow functions $epsilon_i$ from Planck, ACT, SPT, and BICEP/Keck data.\u0000We find an upper bound $epsilon_1 lesssim 0.002$ at 95% CL dominated by\u0000BICEP/Keck data and robust to all the different combination of datasets. We\u0000derive the constraint $epsilon_2 simeq 0.031 pm 0.004$ at 68% confidence\u0000level (CL) from the combination of Planck data and late-time probes such as\u0000baryon acoustic oscillations, redshift space distortions, and supernovae data\u0000at first order in the slow-roll expansion. The uncertainty on $epsilon_2$ gets\u0000larger including second- and third-order corrections, allowing for a\u0000non-vanishing running and running of the running respectively, leading to\u0000$epsilon_2 simeq 0.034 pm 0.007$ at 68% CL. We find $epsilon_3 simeq 0.1\u0000pm 0.4$ at 95% CL both at second and at third order in the slow-roll\u0000expansion of the spectra. $epsilon_4$ remains always unconstrained. The\u0000combination of Planck and SPT data leads to slightly tighter constraints on\u0000$epsilon_2$ and $epsilon_3$. On the contrary, the combination of Planck data\u0000with ACT measurements, which point to higher values of the scalar spectral\u0000index compared to Planck findings, leads to shifts in the means and maximum\u0000likelihood values for $epsilon_2$ and $epsilon_3$.
