Highlights how the Chilean State's actions, such as the occupation of Mapuche territories and the imposition of its education system, have led to socioeducational and cultural ambivalence within schools. This ambivalence arises from the disconnect between Mapuche students' family-based education and the ignorance of teachers regarding their cultural background. The text explores the tension between different types of knowledge and emphasizes the need for intercultural dialogue and recognition of indigenous epistemes within the education system searching for a more inclusive and intercultural approach to education.","PeriodicalId":499708,"journal":{"name":"International journal of membrane science and technology","volume":"35 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134905795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, the objective of this study is to create a mobile application called \"Nutribid\" that provides online counselling services for reproductive health and nutrition, specifically designed for Android devices. The participants of this research were 56 pregnant women residing in Purwadana Village, Indonesia, who utilised mobile devices equipped with the Android operating system. The findings indicate that a significant majority of the participants, above 90%, expressed agreement with the ease of identification, download, and use of the Nutribid application. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that a significant proportion, specifically 60.7% of the participants, expressed their dissatisfaction with the colour scheme employed in the application. Conversely, an overwhelming majority of the respondents concurred that the Nutribid application menu possesses commendable attributes such as ease of recognition, discoverability, legibility, and usability. The utilisation of mobile health applications has witnessed significant growth, yet, its integration into Indonesian society encounters many challenges attributed to the limited internet network infrastructure.","PeriodicalId":499708,"journal":{"name":"International journal of membrane science and technology","volume":"61 8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134905796","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Muscle mass plays a crucial role in determining muscle strength. However, the diversity of genetic features among individuals can significantly influence muscle mass development. Among these genetic factors are polymorphisms in the ace gen which codify for angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), an enzyme that belongs to the renin-angiotensin system (RAS). In addition, there are single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 gene (ace2), that codify for an enzyme that is part of the non-classical RAS axis, which has recently been shown to prevent atrophic and fibrotic processes in skeletal muscle. However, the influence of ace2 SNPs on skeletal muscle strength is unknown. This research aims to study the association between the SNPs rs879922, rs2285666, and rs1978124 of the ace2 gene with isometric muscle strength in sedentary young adults. Thirty-eight healthy sedentary men (18-25 years old) who met the exclusion criteria were recruited for the study. Anthropometric measurements were then taken, and a venous blood sample was extracted to determine the allele of each polymorphism studied. Skeletal muscle strength was measured using a handgrip dynamometer. Our results show no differences in grip strength between alleles of ace2 polymorphisms nor in comparing the muscle strength between the most common haplotypes. We can conclude that there is no association of rs879922, rs2285666, and rs1978124 ace2 polymorphisms with isometric grip strength in sedentary young adults, nor is there an association between ace2 haplotypes and muscle strength.","PeriodicalId":499708,"journal":{"name":"International journal of membrane science and technology","volume":"12 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134906874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Clotrimazole is poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), has a short half-life of only 2 h, & is metabolized into inert molecules by the liver. Therefore, clotrimazole's drug delivery method must be modified for topical application. Microsponge delivery is a novel approach to sustained drug release. Microsponges were made with a polymer solution of Eudragit RS 100 in dichloromethane (DCM) and ethanol (1:1) using a quasi-emulsion solvent diffusion technique. A number of metrics, including production yield, entrapment efficiency, particle size measurement, and in vitro drug release studies, were used to each microsponge formulation. For topical administration, the optimized microsponge formulation F6 was transformed into a gel formulation. Prepared gel was compared to a commercially available formulation based on physical factors such as pH, viscosity, spreadability, drug content, and an in vitro diffusion investigation. Most of the formulations were discrete and spherical in shape, indicating a satisfactory production yield, suggesting quasi-emulsion solvent diffusion method is a promising methodology for the fabrication of microsponge. Clotrimazole was released steadily over the course of 12 hours from the microsponge gel formulation MGI (F6). Therefore, the medicine in the form of a microsponge can reduce the risk of adverse effects and increase patient compliance by avoiding skin contact.","PeriodicalId":499708,"journal":{"name":"International journal of membrane science and technology","volume":"21 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134906875","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study sample consisted of (100) male and female teachers from the category of mentally retarded children in Jerusalem. They were chosen by a simple random method using the aggressive behavior scale. The results concluded that the level of aggressive behavior came to medium degrees, that is, the presence of aggressive behavior among children with mental limitations from the teachers' point of view. The behaviors came in order: aggressive behavior towards oneself, aggressive behavior towards others, aggressive behavior towards objects and possessions, and verbal aggressive behavior. The results also showed no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05??) in the averages of teachers' responses to diagnosing the level of aggressive behavior. The results also show children with mental limitations in Jerusalem due to gender, educational qualification, and years of experience.","PeriodicalId":499708,"journal":{"name":"International journal of membrane science and technology","volume":"26 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134906870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study focused on Saudi Arabia, an emerging nation, over twelve years (2010–2021). We collected financial and accounting variables data from the annual reports of ten financial companies listed on the Tadawul Stock Exchange in Saudi Arabia. We also obtained unavailable datasets from DataStream and Bloomberg. We followed the existing empirical literature, employed a panel-data approach, and formulated two equations using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) estimator. The findings of this study revealed that bank size, total deposit, and credit-to-deposit ratio are vital for increasing the performance of Saudi banks. However, capital expenditure authorization negatively affects the performance of Saudi banks. Furthermore, loans have a negative impact on ROA but a positive effect on ROE. We also found that capital (CAP) has no significant association with the performance of Saudi banks in terms of ROE. This research is conducted in a less well-researched area, as limited studies have examined this question in Asian countries. However, like previous studies, it has limitations, such as a small sample size, limited variables, and study years. Future research should expand the sample size and extend the study to the Asian economic context. Better research and literature are much needed to understand the effects of other governance and control variables on financial companies' performance, particularly in emerging markets.","PeriodicalId":499708,"journal":{"name":"International journal of membrane science and technology","volume":"13 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135168543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
