This paper deals with the management of exhaustible resources when recycling and extraction are employed, as well as the short-term effects of the economic transition towards circularity on consumption and welfare. Mathematical modeling may support effective plans for maximizing social welfare and protecting the environment. Concerning the production of a certain good, an optimal control model is studied to allocate labor between mining and recycling over a finite time horizon. A suit-able scrap value function allows for reducing waste and maintaining natural stock in the forthcoming future. Well-posedness of the problem is proved and some qualitative features of the optimal solution are stated.","PeriodicalId":49860,"journal":{"name":"Mathematical Models & Methods in Applied Sciences","volume":"39 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.5,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87491259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"数学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These were Rwandan refugees who were fleeing massacres in their country. Since then, the reception of refugees has never stopped and Burundi currently has 84,961 refugees, most of whom come from the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is a very large number of people, considering the size of Burundi and its population. These refugees come from the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo and are fleeing the insecurity caused by the armed groups that are multiplying there. This work is the result of field visits to the five refugee camps in Burundi, which resulted in a total of 90 interviews. The sample included both men and women, taking into account their social status, vulnerability, and seniority (former and new refugees). To collect the data, we used a voice recorder and a notebook at our disposal in which we put some details that needed clarification. We used Word, Excel, and SPSS to process the data. The analysis of these interviews shows the difficulties of the life of these refugees. The objective of this study is to analyze refugees' perception of durable solutions to their problem of exile. As these refugees do not expect to return home, most of them turn to resettlement. Only 37.8% have been selected for resettlement. Naturalization and repatriation, two other durable solutions, are not part of the choice of these refugees who are looking toward resettlement.","PeriodicalId":49860,"journal":{"name":"Mathematical Models & Methods in Applied Sciences","volume":"83 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.5,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79792655","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"数学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It presents findings from an experiment conducted by the Centre de Didactique des Disciplines et de Diffusion des Sciences (CRDS) at the Institut de Pédagogie Appliquée – University of Burundi. The article aims to describe and analyze the use of card games in French and physics lessons. The study found that learners are motivated and actively engaged in the classroom when using this strategy. While some teachers noted that preparing for the game could be time-consuming, overall, the card game approach was regarded as an enjoyable and effective learning tool.","PeriodicalId":49860,"journal":{"name":"Mathematical Models & Methods in Applied Sciences","volume":"70 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.5,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76013006","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"数学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A comparative analysis has allowed us to identify that the acts of soliciting children for sexual purposes are incriminated in article 44 of this law, but that they are poorly qualified. They are qualified as the publication of indecent information in electronic form. This, in our opinion, is wrong in its very substance as we have noted in our study. This being said, the current state of the literature in information and communication technology law uses appropriate terminology to qualify these types of facts which is the solicitation of children for sexual purposes. This is the case with some international legal instruments, as well as the Terminology Guide of the Intra-institutional Working Group, as we have noted. We conclude by inviting the Burundian legislator to remedy this situation. In this way, it would have contributed to more effective protection of children against all forms of sexual exploitation and abuse, if we use","PeriodicalId":49860,"journal":{"name":"Mathematical Models & Methods in Applied Sciences","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.5,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73816822","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"数学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Blockchain technology in agriculture and agribusiness has gained significant attention as a potential solution to various challenges the agri-food industry faces. In this paper, we conduct a meta-analysis exploring the various applications of Blockchain in agriculture and agribusiness. We examine the types of technology used, the specific product branches involved, and the security protocols em-ployed. Our findings show that several experiments and pilot projects have been conducted in the field and that Blockchain applications such as Hyperledger Fabric and Corda are ready for real-world implementation in the agri-food sector. We also identify potential benefits of using Blockchain in the agri-food sector, including enhanced product quality guarantees, improved traceability and transparency, assurance of provenance, and more equitable distribution of profits along the agri-food supply chain. Overall, our review suggests that the use of Blockchain in agriculture and agribusiness has the potential to address a range of challenges faced by these sectors and drive innovation, technical, and economic efficiencies.","PeriodicalId":49860,"journal":{"name":"Mathematical Models & Methods in Applied Sciences","volume":"225 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.5,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86005789","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"数学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article analyzes the situation of the right to education of Congolese children who are housed in the refugee camps of Musasa in Burundi. Access to education, equal opportunity, the best interests of the child, and compliance with international commitments shape the landscape of the right to quality education. The article further shows that quality education for refugee children is precarious and poses many challenges in its implementation. This is further measured by the results collected from the school in MUSASA refugee camp. It is noted that in almost all school years the success rate is much lower than 50%. In addition, the implementation of the rights related to education by the state, such as Burundi, is a Utopia. The factors that are at the height of this success rate, are among others the qualification of teachers, the supervision of teachers and students, overcrowded classes lack of equipment and laboratory, discouragement of teachers due to the non-existent salary, resignation from the teaching career due to lack of sufficient salary etc. In addition, it has been","PeriodicalId":49860,"journal":{"name":"Mathematical Models & Methods in Applied Sciences","volume":"111 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.5,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85805109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"数学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
