The study used an ex-post facto panel research design. The data for the study was collected from the published financial statements of sampled banks. The study's dependent variable is market capitalization, a proxy of firm value, while the independent variables are dividend payout and agency cost, respectively. The data estimation was conducted using the panel data technique. The findings showed that the dividend payout and agency cost effects on firm value are positive and negative but statistically significant and insignificant. In contrast, the joint effects of dividend payout and agency cost on a firm's value are statistically insignificant. This result implies that dividend payout has a unique effect (direct effect) on firm value but does not moderate the effect of agency cost on firm value in Nigerian DMBs. This can be attributed to the unique nature of banks, which may be due to the intense supervision by the regulatory authorities.

However, Nigerian secondary offer limited environmental health awareness for attitude practices in student learning. This study described Nigerian secondary school students’ school environmental health awareness, attitude and practices. A 34-item instrument was administered to 1000 students out of which 867 were returned, representing 86.7 % response rate. Data were analysed using simple percent, mean, t-test, and analysis of variance. The results indicated that students possessed rather moderate/average levels of school environmental health, and equally positive attitudes and practice of school environmental health. Results of T-test revealed that there was significant difference between male and female students in awareness and practice of school environmental health while, no significant difference was observed in their attitudes. Similarly, no significance difference was observed in awareness, attitudes and practice according to age, school ownership, class and school location. ANOVA results showed significant differences in awareness and attitudes of students of mixed schools and boys only schools. The results suggested the need for multi-sectorial actions to gear up effort towards preparing teachers for educating students and other stakeholders in the school system for environmental sustainability.Keywords: School environmental health, awareness, attitude, practice.","PeriodicalId":493003,"journal":{"name":"Journal in Humanities","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135517169","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through diverse forms of oracular messages, Christian pulpits engage itself in state affairs and governance of Nigeria. From blatant or cautious prophecies to flagrant or stealth solicitations for political candidates and their parties, some pulpits immerse themselves in politics. Moreover, either with the view to compliment or disparage the pulpit, the diverse politically inclined pews and the public often argue on the boundary of Christian pulpits in politics. As the pulpit actors often claim a divine responsibility to guide the country in the political space, it is confronted with the poser, on where and how to draw the line between its spiritual mandate and political stewardship. It is against this background that this study seeks to examine the roles of Christian pulpits in the struggle for good governance in Nigeria. Adopting literal criticism, the study concludes that the roles of the pulpit can be well-defined in politics. In addition, it should not limit its contributions to politics, as long as good governance remains its primary concern.","PeriodicalId":493003,"journal":{"name":"Journal in Humanities","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136368840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the first half of the 20th century, which culminated in the Second World War, the concept of energy security was closely linked to the supply of fuel for military purposes. The biggest problem for energy security within the 20th century and the first two decades of the 21st century was the protection of oil and gas supplies and delivery. This problem is now, related to the aggression of Russia against Ukraine. Taking into consideration the importance of the energy security policy of the US in the framework of USA-EU relations and strengthening the Trans-Atlantic links between American and European partners with the purpose to oppose the imperialistic ambitions of Russia, the transportation of natural gas from the US to Europe and other regions of the world in the light of the Russia-Ukraine war and by this way, the reduction of dependence on Russian oil and gas in Europe has made the issue actual. For the European countries, it is important to get away from Russia's energy influence and so far, it is trying to find alternative sources of energy imports and increasing the share of non-traditional sources of energy within the energy balance of the EU and other European states.On one side is Russia, which is trying to maximize its energy resources for the realization of its geopolitical interests. Particularly, after the embargo on Russian oil and oil products and the significant decreasing the volume of Russian gas export to the EU market, Kremlin tries to increase the export of oil and gas to alternative markets, first of all to China and India. It should not be forgotten, that in 2014, the Crimean Peninsula was annexed by Russia, and together with other factors one of the reasons was that there (on the Black Sea coast of Ukraine) are located important deposits of shale gas. On the other side is the United States of America, which has been intensively cultivating the shale gas deposits in recent years and intensively increasing oil production. However, it is worth mentioning that the transportation of the above-mentioned natural resources in Europe is quite a problematic issue due to its geographical location.Keywords: Energy, EU, Gas, Oil, Russia, Security, Trans-Atlantic Links, USA.","PeriodicalId":493003,"journal":{"name":"Journal in Humanities","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135288045","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to statistics, about 10 million people are victims of some kind of domestic violence every year (Huecker, King, Jordan, & Smock, 2022). Real statistics, however, might be higher than the official stats state as some victims do not want or are frightened to talk about it or simply some people do not realize, due to lack of information, that they in reality are the victims of domestic violence. That is the main reason why it is important to raise awareness about this issue.
