The aim of this study is determine the effect of giving information on antihypertensive drugs on the level of knowledge and adherence of patients participating in prolanis at Wori Health Center. This research is using quantitative by applying the experimental research methods with the research design applied is one group pretest-posttest and to determine the sample using purposive sampling technique. Respondents in the study were hypertensive prolanis patients at the Wori Health Center who met the criteria, with a total of 60 patients. Data were analyzed by SPSS using paired t-test, the significance value of the knowledge and compliance questionnaire was 0.000 (<0.05). The significance value obtained indicated that there was an effect of the treatment given on the level of knowledge and adherence. The treatment given to respondents was the provision of information on antihypertensive drugs. The increase in the results of the questionnaire on the level of knowledge and adherence to the pretest and posttest showed changes, these changes were influenced by the treatment given. It can be interpreted that there is an influence from providing information on antihypertensive drugs on the level of knowledge and adherence of prolanis patients.","PeriodicalId":490956,"journal":{"name":"Pharmacon","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135620841","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Antioxidant is a chemical compound or component that has the ability to inhibit and slow down damage due to the oxidation process when in a certain level or amount. This study aims to determine the potential of Torbangun leaf extract (Plectranthus amboinicus Lour.) as an antioxidant. This research is an experimental laboratory with maceration and fractionation extraction methods. Ethanol extract of Torbangun leaves, methanol, chloroform, and n-hexane fractions were tested using the DPPH (1,1diphenyl-2-pikrilhidrazyl) method measured by a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Results showed that the ethanol extract of Torbangun leaves had antioxidant activity, namely 80.8% ethanol extract, 43.4% methanol fraction, 85.7% chloroform fraction, and 59.6% n-hexane fraction. Results showed that chloroform fraction had the highest antioxidant activity compared to other solvents.","PeriodicalId":490956,"journal":{"name":"Pharmacon","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135620837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Along with the increase in cases of infection, there is also an increase in cases of resistance to antibiotics. The biodiversity of Indonesia exhibit a potential at anti-bacterial which could be develop to become antibioctics candidate. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of Lamellodysidea herbacea sponge obtained from the waters of Poopoh village, Minahasa Regency against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. Extraction was carried by maceration out using 95% ethanol solvent. Anti-bacterial testing using agar diffusion method (Disc diffusion Kirby and Bauer). The results showed that the ethanol extracts of Lamellodysidea herbacea sponge had the largest inhibition zone on Staphylococcus aureus bacteria at a concentration of 250 μL/disc of 7.5 mm and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria at a concentration of 250 μL/disc of 7.33 mm, both inhibition zones were in the medium category. Based on this study, it can be concluded that the largest inhibition zone is found in Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.","PeriodicalId":490956,"journal":{"name":"Pharmacon","volume":"254 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135620838","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
