Abstract
Gedi plant (Abelmoschus manihot L.) is a plant that has a lot of potential as an active compound. Gedi plants have many sources of antioxidant compounds found in their leaves. Research on gedi stems aims to find out if gedi plant stems have the same amount of antioxidants as gedi leaves. The research was conducted using an experimental method with the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhidrazyl) method. Extraction was carried out by maceration method to extract metabolite compounds. Testing the results of the extracts and fractions was carried out using UV-Vis spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 517 nm. The test results obtained the amount of activity of the extracts and each fraction, namely: 82.08% ethanol extract, 77.65% methanol fraction, 85.66% chloroform fraction , n-hexane fraction 78.26%.
