THE EFFECT OF PROVIDING INFORMATION ON ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS ON THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND COMPLIANCE OF PROLANIS PARTICIPATING PATIENTS AT THE WORI HEALTH CENTER

Abstract

Provision of drug information is one part of pharmacy services, the provision of drug information affects the level of knowledge and patient compliance. The aim of this study is determine the effect of giving information on antihypertensive drugs on the level of knowledge and adherence of patients participating in prolanis at Wori Health Center. This research is using quantitative by applying the experimental research methods with the research design applied is one group pretest-posttest and to determine the sample using purposive sampling technique. Respondents in the study were hypertensive prolanis patients at the Wori Health Center who met the criteria, with a total of 60 patients. Data were analyzed by SPSS using paired t-test, the significance value of the knowledge and compliance questionnaire was 0.000 (<0.05). The significance value obtained indicated that there was an effect of the treatment given on the level of knowledge and adherence. The treatment given to respondents was the provision of information on antihypertensive drugs. The increase in the results of the questionnaire on the level of knowledge and adherence to the pretest and posttest showed changes, these changes were influenced by the treatment given. It can be interpreted that there is an influence from providing information on antihypertensive drugs on the level of knowledge and adherence of prolanis patients.
