The type of research is R&D (Research and Development) development using the 1999 Plomp model. Plomp’s design has three stages, namely from analysis, design and development, and evaluation. The trial on the digital book consisted of validity tests on material and media validators. Data analysis obtained from the validity test results from material experts showed that the book was very effective with an average score of 90%, while the validity test results from media experts showed that STEM-based digital books entered the effective criteria with an average score of 81,66%. The population in this study was class X with a research sample of students in classes X1 and X2 with a total of 36 students in each class. Samples were taken using simple random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through pretest, posttest and observation sheets. The research results showed that the average N-Gain in the control class was 0.39 (medium) and the experimental class was 0.59 (medium). The results of the N-Gain t-test showed a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. One source of belief is the level of self-confidence. ability (self-efficacy). The Scientific Critical Thinking (SCT) model is a model that can be applied to material on the human respiratory system in class A1 and A2 biology lessons at Lancang Kuning University. This study aims to determine critical thinking skills, communication skills and self-efficacy of biology students in the application of the SCT model to the material on the respiratory system. The method in this study was a quasi-experimental study with a post-test nonequivalent control group design. The sample of this study were students in class A1 biology (experimental class) and class A2 biology (control class). Retrieval of data in research using test and non-test techniques. Data analysis techniques used in this study are descriptive and inferential. The results showed that (1) there was an increase in critical thinking skills (2) an increase in communication skills and (3) an increase in self-efficacy. The experimental class was better than the control class in training biology students' critical thinking skills, communication skills, and self-efficacy in learning material on the human respiratory system.

Now the development of learning media is increasingly advanced thanks to advances in information technology. One of the information technology-based learning media that is currently widely used is Virtual Reality. The utilization of Virtual Reality learning media is very appropriate to use in classroom learning that needs to present real examples so that students can understand the material, so as to improve the quality of learning. The purpose of this study is to analyze how to improve the quality of learning based on Virtual Reality technology at Santa Ursula Senior High School Jakarta. The method used is descriptive quantitative research method with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results showed that the use of Virtual Reality can improve the quality of learning in several subjects. The use of Virtual Reality has a positive impact on learning activities, such as learning to be more varied, fun, and interesting. In addition, students' interest in learning in class also increases, because they want to be actively involved in the learning process. However, the use of Virtual Reality at Santa Ursula Senior High School Jakarta is still not optimal. This is because there are still many teachers who are not mature in preparing the use of Virtual Reality media in learning, so the use of Virtual Reality has not been evenly distributed in all classes.","PeriodicalId":486407,"journal":{"name":"Bio-Lectura : Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136233655","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
