It conflates the traditional Chinese Yin-Yang theory with humanistic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and the philosophy of structuralism from Western cultures. YYDP is effective in addressing a wide range of psychological issues. This article is a case study of the use of YYDP in psychological counseling for an adolescent who was experiencing teenage rebellion with a risk of dropping out of school. YYDP successfully helped the client, and her parents develop more positive and balanced attitudes towards interpersonal relationships and supported the client in restoring normal school life.","PeriodicalId":484711,"journal":{"name":"Science insights","volume":"65 17","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140482393","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is a challenging and uncertain problem that, given the growing development of artificial intelligence-based technologies that go beyond the performance of purely technical tasks and even contribute to the development of aspects such as the incorporation of scientific research information published in languages other than English, also contributing to potential insights in research, is becoming unavoidable when considering scientific publishing. This paper aims to add to this discussion by arguing that, although this is a challenging and even controversial position, it is inevitable and even ethically desirable to accept artificial intelligence, if it subsidizes sufficiently, as a (co-)author of any scientific publication. It is a matter of starting to think about how this attribution can be controlled and achieved with increasing respect for the ethics of scientific publication.","PeriodicalId":484711,"journal":{"name":"Science insights","volume":"59 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140481385","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although AI has the potential to streamline specific facets of the scientific method, detractors contend that its integration could potentially erode the foundations of science. A potential issue arises when an excessive dependence on AI for data analysis and experimentation results in the erosion of human creativity and intuition as pivotal components in scientific breakthroughs. The propensity for fortuitous discoveries and innovative concepts to arise from ostensibly unrelated disciplines may be impeded by AI’s emphasis on identifying patterns in preexisting data sets. Moreover, algorithms employed in AI systems that rely on training data possess an intrinsic bias, which may introduce intangible prejudices into scientific investigation. Furthermore, it is critical to specify that AI is incapable of engaging in debates or comprehending profound philosophical inquiries pertaining to the fundamental principles that govern our universe. As a result, although AI has the potential to significantly aid scientists in their endeavors, it must be implemented with prudence to guarantee that it enhances rather than erodes the fundamental tenets and character of scientific investigation. \u0000 ","PeriodicalId":484711,"journal":{"name":"Science insights","volume":"87 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140483677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Undoubtedly, AI is currently capable of producing texts that are only marginally cogent or even imitate specific writing styles by utilizing machine learning and algorithms. However, what distinguishes human writers is their capacity to imbue their works with ingenuity, sentimentality, and distinct viewpoints. Writing is more than simply assembling words; it is an authentic expression of oneself. In addition, human beings possess superior cognitive abilities such as critical thinking, intuition, and the capacity to comprehend intricate contexts beyond the current capabilities of any algorithm. However, who can say what the future may bring? One major concern linked to water pollution is its association with cancer. Numerous studies have substantiated that exposure to contaminants in polluted water sources can significantly increase the risk of developing various types of cancers. Chemicals like heavy metals (e.g., arsenic, lead), industrial pollutants (e.g., benzene, vinyl chloride), and pesticides have been detected in contaminated water supplies worldwide. These carcinogens not only contaminate the water but also accumulate in aquatic organisms consumed by humans, ultimately entering our food chain. Certain chemicals act as mutagens or tumor promoters, damaging DNA and causing genetic mutations that can lead to cancer development. Additionally, long-term exposure to these pollutants can weaken the immune system’s ability to fight off cancer cells effectively. Consequently, preventive actions must be undertaken swiftly at domestic, industrial, and governmental levels to reduce this pervasive threat through regulated waste disposal practices and advanced purification technologies.","PeriodicalId":484711,"journal":{"name":"Science insights","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135869840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, the cognitive capabilities of patients with neurological comorbidities, such as epilepsy or dementia, may be a subject of worry when contemplating the impact of general anesthesia. Studies have indicated that individuals who have pre-existing neurological diseases may encounter negative consequences on their brain function when exposed to anesthesia. These consequences can manifest as a reduction in cognitive abilities or a worsening of their current coexisting medical conditions. Hence, it is imperative for healthcare practitioners to thoroughly assess the potential advantages and disadvantages of general anesthesia in individuals with neurological comorbidities. This evaluation should encompass exploring alternative methodologies or tailoring anesthetic management strategies to mitigate potential complications and enhance patients’ overall results.","PeriodicalId":484711,"journal":{"name":"Science insights","volume":"120 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135872791","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
