Wilk, Mateusz Włosiński","doi":"10.52097/lst.2024.1.213-232","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.52097/lst.2024.1.213-232","url":null,"abstract":"This article is devoted to one of the sermons by the great and illustrious Victorine preacher, Absalon of Sprinckirsbach (died 1205), author of the extensive collection Sermones festivales, which was first published in 1534 in Cologne, and was later reprinted in 1605 in Milan and in J.-P. Migne’s perennial Latin patrology. The sermon in question is the sermon XLI, one of four sermons by Absalon intended to be read or preached on the occasion of a church dedication ceremony – three of these occasional sermons are already available in Polish translation. A translation of the indicated work is offered here with brief commentaries in the form of footnotes to selected parts of it. The Latin text of the sermon is also included below, so that the two language versions, Latin and Polish, can be easily compared by the reader. The present work, which enriches the collection of those Victorine texts in which the allegorical meaning of the Christian temple is expounded and which are available in Polish, is an element of a broader research project, which will culminate in a study referring to Absalon’s theology of the house of God. An important research problem was the reconstruction of the perception of Polish Radio by the recipients. Based on the conducted analysis, it was proved that the Polish public broadcasting station is an issuer pursuing a social mission, caring for a high level of journalistic objectivity, implementing the concept of truth in the classical sense and promoting high culture. The Church demands respect for human bodies and ashes. The first part of the article presents the burial of corpses in the ground as an ordinary and basic form of Christian burial. Nonetheless, in his teaching he focused on Mariological issues of importance to theology. This article aimed to present Aquinas’ theology on the question of the fullness of grace in the Blessed Virgin Mary. In the first part of this article, in addition to the general historical context, the basic content on Aquinas’ theology of grace is introduced. In the following chapters, the author of the article, based on the teaching of St Thomas, sought to present the effects produced by the presence of full grace in the life of Mary, followed by a discussion of its three forms, which St Thomas related to the stages of the life of the Mother of Jesus. In summary, firmly grounded in Christoligy, St Thomas’ Mariology links the truth of Mary’s ‘full grace’ to the literal presence of Christ in her womb. The Church faces numerous challenges as a global institution, grappling with various issues among its followers who currently inhabit all continents. The situation of young churches in Africa, emerging after the era of colonialism, is different, as they seek their own identity. Similarly, the Church operates differently on the Old Continent, permeated by ideas of freedom, secularism, and liberalism. This article focuses on certain topics presented by participants of the synodal meeting in Prague in early 2023, addressing the functioning of the Church in Europe. The content of the article centers around the discussion of the idea of synodality and its place in the history of the Church and its current ecclesial vision. It then explores the relationship between mercy and truth in theology, openness to contemporary culture while preserving tradition, and the dynamics of power competition within the Church. However, if we look at the development of Christianity, we will easily see that in its history it has very often experienced problems with the hallmarks of a crisis. Perhaps the basis for perceiving the current situation as a crisis is a distorted image of God and the expectation that Catholicism would dominate in quantitative terms over other worldview proposals that can be found today. This text reflects on the phenomenon of the crisis of the Catholic Church in Poland and discusses whether the observable changes in the Church concern faith itself, or rather religion, which is a broader concept. Z jednej strony podważa się teorię Juliusa Wellhausena, według której degradacja lewitów była pokłosiem reformy Jozjasza, z drugiej zaś interpretuje się inne teksty (2Krl 23,9-10; P i Ez 44,10-16) jako powygnaniową próbę archaizującej projekcji degradacji lewitów na okres sprzed wygnania. The article increases the cognitive value in the area of theoretical analysis of social advertising as a communication tool and systematizes knowledge about Down syndrome as a disease entity, stereotypes functioning in society and pro-social associations.
