The aim is to reduce harmful effects on the environment. This paper analyses the level and purpose of ECO-CSR in 100 companies of the Italian region of Campania. The first objective is to analyse the three attitudes of the respondents using Likert scales and to answer whether the reason for the ECO-CSR activities is to increase reputation, marketing strategy or profit? The ECO-CSR toll was created for research purposes, measuring the company’s investment in energy from sustainable sources, waste management and recycling strategy, prevention of harmful gases and pollution by the company or the local community, as well as the greening of public areas, parks, riverbeds, seashores or lakes. Seven items from the ECO-CSR toll were subjected to Principal component analysis. Three factor scores were isolated, i.e. different strategies for ECO-CSR management. The multiple regression analysis was used to measure whether the factor scores influence the change of the company’s profit variable in the past two years. Based on the value of R<sup>2</sup>, 67.2% of the variability of the dependent variable was explained by the influence of three factor scores. GEWR has the greatest impact, whose jump by one point leads to an increase in profit by 0.573.</p>","PeriodicalId":48058,"journal":{"name":"International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":5.6,"publicationDate":"2024-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141167542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to research, different factors that operate at both the individual and contextual levels can play a prominent role in influencing people's self-employment during periods of economic downturn. This study investigates the changes in the likelihood of self-employment by gender and age across various contexts following sudden shocks. By analyzing the intersection of occupational choice and business cycle theories, this research offers insights into how crises affect people's ability to work for themselves. Using a sample of over 250,000 individuals from sixteen countries and applying a multilevel binary logistic regression analysis, the results confirm that women and older individuals are less inclined to be self-employed in general. However, unexpected economic recessions may lead to a slight increase in their likelihood of self-employment. Furthermore, when women and seniors live in a higher GDP per capita context, this context positively moderates the relationship between gender, age, and the propensity for entrepreneurship. These findings offer valuable insights for policymakers seeking to promote resilient self-employment among vulnerable individuals for post-crisis recovery.\u0000</p>","PeriodicalId":48058,"journal":{"name":"International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":5.6,"publicationDate":"2024-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141167561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We employed a qualitative case study method that involved 22 respondents from a multi-category of industry actors. The in-depth interview is supported by the vignette derived from secondary data. Findings reveal that international market exploration causes uncertainties due to the local consumption culture and consumers’ expectations. Thus, ride-hailing operators must consistently adapt to local culture while offering new services abroad. Additionally, we reveal two opposing directions of the legitimation process within the ride-hailing industry, which differ from the past literature. Our key message to service industry practitioners is to recognize that consumers are active agents in shaping the new market. At the same time, in contemporary society, where the Internet has assumed the role of the primary instrument for both communication and commerce, effective utilisation of vast amounts of data has become imperative for businesses, especially in the entrepreneurial environment. To identify the main connections in two of the currently most trending concepts in business, we undertook a systematic literature review focusing on Big Data, entrepreneurship, and their interconnections in business management through 301 research documents. While numerous studies have already delved individually into Big Data and entrepreneurship, the interconnection between these concepts still has research potential. Our results reflect a growing interest in leading research on these topics, with specific leading authors and countries. Furthermore, we show and discuss a conceptual map consisting of five clusters, unveiling interesting connections such as the impact of blockchain on firms, the correlation between Big Data and firm performance, the role of data science, and the significance of Big Data analytics for operational performance. The article ends by examining how Big Data and entrepreneurship change the business landscape. While entrepreneurs use data for decision-making, innovation, and tailored customer experiences, there are lingering concerns such as data security and privacy. The future of business and innovation will depend, in part, on the crossroads between entrepreneurs and Big Data technologies.</p>","PeriodicalId":48058,"journal":{"name":"International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":5.6,"publicationDate":"2024-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140940260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since the exposure to these risks might reduce their willingness to export, SMEs’ risk management capabilities included in the dynamic capabilities of Resource-based View (RBV) might enable them to reduce their exporting concerns and stimulate their entrepreneurial spirit. In this regard, this paper purposes to investigate the impacts of financial, legal, and market risk management capabilities on export intentions of SMEs. The effects of risk management capabilities on the export intention of SMEs might differ depending on the countries where SMEs operate because locally specific government bureaucracy, documentation, standards, regulations, and cultural values make companies face various circumstances that might differently affect their management of multiple risk factors and export entrepreneurship. Thus, this paper also aims to determine whether the effects of risk management capabilities on the export intention of SMEs differ depending on their country of origin. In line with the research aims, this paper employs the Binary Logistic Regression Test to analyze 1221 SMEs in various countries. The results indicate that while financial risk management does not have any significant impacts on the export intention of SMEs, the effects of legal and market risk management on export intention differ depending on SMEs’ country of origin. This paper explains the reasons for those results by the institutional factors.</p>","PeriodicalId":48058,"journal":{"name":"International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":5.6,"publicationDate":"2024-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140940508","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We identify key knowledge clusters and influential articles through methods including the cooccurrence of author’s keywords and PageRank analysis. The four identified knowledge clusters are: (1) configuration and crucial dimensions of entrepreneurial ecosystems, (2) entrepreneurship for sustainability and circular economy, (3) building an innovation-driven ecosystem, and (4) knowledge, technology, and commercialization.
