Recognizing the pervasive impact of mathematics anxiety on academic performance and psychological well-being, the research focuses on the efficacy of two innovative approaches: inquiry-based learning and peer teaching. The study involves 50 secondary school students and employs a self-designed questionnaire validated by mathematics department lecturers, a measurement and evaluation expert, and an experienced secondary school teacher. Data collection was conducted through an online survey designed using Google Forms, providing a convenient and efficient method for participants to respond. Results from the online survey reveal insights into the comparative effectiveness of these techniques, highlighting gender-specific variations. Notably, peer teaching emerged as a more favorable technique. The slightly higher variability in scores in the peer teaching method, as indicated by the standard deviation, suggests that while it may lead to higher average performance, it also introduces greater variability, emphasizing the need for tailored approaches to accommodate diverse learning styles. The study contributes localized data to the broader literature, addressing gaps in understanding mathematics phobia in Anambra State. Findings aim to inform educators, policymakers, and practitioners about evidence-based strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for mathematics in secondary schools.","PeriodicalId":479772,"journal":{"name":"Edumania-An International Multidisciplinary Journal","volume":"2003 23","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141706949","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From the very beginning, the war victims were facing a terrible situation. Ultimately with the mediation of US and Egypt, both parties agreed for a ceasefire of four-day effective from November 25, 2023 to release the people taken captive during the war. According to this ceasefire, Hamas will release 50 Israeli hostages and in return Israel will respond with a release of 150 Palestinians. Israel will respond only if the initiative is taken by Hamas. After seven days, the heavy strikes have again resumed by Israel. But here the question arises, who has been actually benefited by this unwanted war which suddenly exploded? The most sufferers from both sides are the civilians only who have to face hatred from their opponents. The conflict between them is not new; both sides have been utmost disliking for each other since ancient times, resulting in such types of attacks. Even in recent years also, chronological attacks were recorded on Jerusalem from both sides. In these attacks, the world witnessed total contravention of the human being rights of the civilians and even war related international norms were also intentionally ignored. But now, it seems that the present conflict has divided the entire world into two parts. The situation seems to be going out of control day by day as per the commitment of both sides. If this situation continues and couldn’t be handled timely then there might be a possibility of large-scale war and even one couldn’t rule out the feasibility of third world war. Now, it shall remain the matter of time being to see how long this conflict lasts. The present paper is an effort to analytically overview the root cause of the conflict and a mere attempt to evaluate the contemporary situation of the region with a possible positive comment on the resolution side of the dispute in the larger interest of mankind.","PeriodicalId":479772,"journal":{"name":"Edumania-An International Multidisciplinary Journal","volume":"36 S16","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141714085","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research comprises of five primary inquiries, with three addressed through hypotheses and two assessed with a 0.05 significance level. Data were collected via surveys and questionnaires, with 100 pupils from five different schools offering biology in the region taking part in the study. The questionnaire utilized a four-point scale to measure academic performance, proximity to schools, and social disparities between genders. Frequencies, percentages, and regression were utilized in data analysis. Results indicate that effective teaching methods and instructors’ level of education significantly impact biology pupils’ academic success. These findings support the views of Gupta (2017) and Ukpong (2021), who similarly emphasized the importance of a teacher’s approach and qualification on student performance. The study recommends that the government incentivize and motivate experienced teachers in the education system, while also encouraging students to prioritize learning over just academic achievement. Additionally, it suggests that only certified teachers should be permitted to teach mathematics at the secondary level to enhance their pedagogical approach and enhance students’ academic achievements.","PeriodicalId":479772,"journal":{"name":"Edumania-An International Multidisciplinary Journal","volume":"313 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140719490","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is assumed that trauma shatters human beings in a way that recollecting the pieces of their personality makes it too difficult to stand up and lead a normal life for those who experience this phenomenon. In literature, the writers tried their hands at recreating the events that caused human lives to experience trauma. However, whether the text conveys the exact effect of the feeling or not that is another study but several novels including graphic novels like Maus, are referred to as good examples of this kind of writing in literature. According to psychologists, trauma is caused not only by events or the horrors that one faces in life but their memories about the events leading to the particular feelings. Like William Wordsworth’s definition of poetry “Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of the powerful feeling; it takes its origin from emotion recollected in Tranquility” – William Wordsworth. The unpleasant feelings of past events get collected in memories, reflecting situationally or throughout life creating trauma for a lifetime. It could also be considered the part of Neurosis that makes the experiences turn out to be Traumatic and difficult to manage. Exploring the literature review Mahesh Dattani’s Dance Like a Man is one of the Indian plays that discussed several issues including culture, gender discrimination, a sense of loss of identity, and much more similar. However, this paper focuses on the different angles of the play based on Freud’s theory on Trauma; the traumatic experiences that the family goes through on an individual level without the knowledge of each other’s pain. The concept of a typical family is exhibited in the play yet the couple leads their lives in the name of Love, Care, Support, and Ambition, which seem to be partially fake and hollow.","PeriodicalId":479772,"journal":{"name":"Edumania-An International Multidisciplinary Journal","volume":"58 41","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140795680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
