This research was conducted in the field using a qualitative descriptive methodology. This research set out to learn how hard women in Keude Unga, Cebrek, and Gampong Meunasah Tuha work to improve their households' financial situations and reduce poverty in their communities. Participant observation, in-depth interviews with targeted informants, and document analysis were the three phases of the data collection procedure. The study's findings show that women from Aceh have a robust work ethic when it comes to supporting children's education. There is a multitude of activities within the public realm that serve as evidence of this strong commitment to labour. The contemporary understanding of work ethic necessitates an examination of the historical presence and circumstances of women. The manifestation of women's work ethic may be observed in the coastal communities of Keude Unga, Meunasah Tuha, and Cebrek, where the entire population faces the arduous task of improving their socioeconomic status and providing for their families.","PeriodicalId":476198,"journal":{"name":"Al-Ishlah","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135705657","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Without it, the students only learn English in a passive way. This study, therefore, aims to explore the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) to investigate the Willingness to Communicate (WTC) in English of EFL learners. This research uses mixed methods, especially Embedded Design, to explore CLT and investigate WTC in English of EFL learners. Qualitative analysis begins this research through observation and interviews. The results of both are then strengthened by the results of quantitative analysis through the questionnaire. It was found that there were various communicative activities implemented by the teacher. Those are effectively conducted by the teacher to promote communicative language teaching in the classroom. Another finding is that there are six WTC patterns, and the pattern of voluntary participation in class activities has the highest percentage of occurrences. The conclusion that can be drawn from this research is that the willingness to communicate (WTC) in English for EFL learners is regarded as high or very willing.","PeriodicalId":476198,"journal":{"name":"Al-Ishlah","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135039080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The used research method was quantitative research. This research used secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics of East Java. The data were analyzed by using panel data regression analysis with Fixed Effect Model (FEM) estimation and the aid of EViews 9.0 application program. The research result showed that PDRB and HDI variables affected simultaneously poverty rate in East Java Province from 2010 to 2016 that was 97.8506%. GRDP variable affected partially poverty rate that was -0.251899, and HDI variable affected partially as well poverty rate that was -1.868236. To support the increment of human development index (HDI), it is necessary to enhance the role of education. It is generally accepted that a person's HDI income level will improve as their degree of education increases. This is achievable due to the fact that educated people tend to be more productive overall.","PeriodicalId":476198,"journal":{"name":"Al-Ishlah","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135039555","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed at finding out the influence of the writing process method and a story based on Adab education on the student’s ability to write an opinion essay. The design of this research is mixed method research. The research population was eight classes of undergraduate students in semester 3 of the English Education Department of Teacher Training and Education Faculty in the academic year 2019/2020. The research sample was 37 students that were purposively chosen. The instruments used were a pretest and a posttest. The findings showed that the average posttest score for the experimental class (71.0) was two points higher than the score for the control class (69.0). The results of calculating the difference between the experimental class's posttest and pretest values, a value of 24, were obtained. In contrast, in the control class, a value of 26 was obtained as the result of calculating the difference between the posttest and pretest values. The difference between the two results was -2. Based on that, the conclusion was that the influence of the writing process method and a story based on Adab's education was insignificant. In other words, the writing process method and a story based on Adab education were similarly good in improving students' competence in writing an opinion essay. The findings suggest the necessity of doing or implementing the writing process and a story based on Adab’s education if students hope to have good English writing particularly an opinion essay.","PeriodicalId":476198,"journal":{"name":"Al-Ishlah","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135039079","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
