Mohammad","doi":"10.35516/hum.v50i5.5836","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.35516/hum.v50i5.5836","url":null,"abstract":"Objectives: The study aimed is to identify the underlying temporal structures, procedures and devices employed by Janáček in the composition of his First-String Quartet, by way of a thorough analysis of musical forms, relations and cyclicities of recurring themes and motifs, and an examination of referential semantic structures. Methods: The study applied a descriptive-analytical method in the framework of a textual approach to the composition under consideration. This includes identifying procedures of contrast, juxtaposition, interpolation, temporal intercutting, and superimposition described by T. Clifton, often employed together with a montage-style technique. Results: The results of the study of our analysis clearly show Janáčeck’s preference for the palindrome arch form and rondo-like forms, combined with features of ternarity. In their recurrences themes are mostly varied, occasionally transposed, and often curtailed, sometimes to the duration of a mere referential reminder. This form entails a specific temporality related in the palindrome form to a retrograde temporal directionality. The superimposition of themes and accompaniment textures also entails a superimposition of their temporal strata. Another poignant feature of this quartet’s temporality is the use of referential-semantic devices. The tool was applied to a sample of wives in Irbid governorate during the academic year 2020/2021, with a percentage of 5% of the study population. Results: The results of the study showed that men employ verbal prophetic skills in family communication with their wives whenever the wife is younger. There is also a clear effect of the factor of the duration of marriage, and the relationship between them is inverse, the shorter the period of marriage, the higher the consideration for skills. The nature of the husband’s work is related to the extent to which the husbands take these skills into consideration, clearly and in a positive relationship. Methods: The qualitative approach and the case study were applied, as well as extensive investigation and examination of relevant resources published in journal articles, newspapers, reports, press releases, and TV interviews. Results: The study found that Trump’s plan affects Jordan, as it contradicts with the priority in Jordan’s national interests which lies in the question of Palestine, supporting the two-state solution, and the creation of a viable Palestinian state. Since Trump’s initiative does not include a viable Palestinian state and removes the two-state solution from the peace process, it poses significant challenges to Jordan’s national security, economy, and role in Jerusalem, and implementing it will cause further conflict; impacting Jordan’s interests. Ignoring Jordan’s special role as the custodian of Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites, will complicate and negatively impact Jordanian - American and Jordanian-Israeli relations. Conclusions: The study recommends the need of rebuilding trust between Jordan and the U.S, as they enjoy close security cooperation and strategic relationship. It is expected that Biden’s administration will seek conflict management with low interest, instead of conflict resolution. Methods: A qualitative case study approach was used to accurately describe science diplomacy in terms of three empirical dimensions: (1) science for diplomacy, (2) science in diplomacy, and (3) diplomacy for science. A combination of scientific journal articles, official domestic and international documents, reports, and news stories was chosen from which to obtain data. An in-depth content analysis of documents and databases related to the topic was adopted to find predefined key terms used in science diplomacy, which were coded to indicate the conceptual dimensions of science diplomacy related to Jordan. Results: Based on the findings, numerous themes relevant to the practice of science diplomacy were identified. First, Jordan employs the three dimensions of science diplomacy. Second, it is aware of the importance of science diplomacy in promoting better relations and tackling global challenges. Third, the related local institutions employ science diplomacy as part of the overall political strategy in Jordan. Methods: A questionnaire comprised of the Five-Factor Model (Costa & McCrae, 1992), the Gambling Behavior Scale by Jeff and Gregory (2010) and the Social Networking Time Use Scale (Olufadi, 2015) was administered to 718 students in Northern Cyprus. Pearson’s correlation and multiple linear regression analysis were carried out to test if the five personality traits have a significant positive relationship with gambling behavior. Results: Data analysis showed a significant positive relationship between social media use and gambling behavior. The study reported that while the relationship between three personality traits (extraversion, neuroticism, and openness to experience) and gambling behavior is partially mediated by social media use, the relationship between agreeableness as a personality trait and gambling behavior is not mediated by social media use. Finally, findings showed that the impact of conscientiousness on gambling behavior is influenced by the frequency and time spent on social media. Conclusions: In light of the reported impact of personality traits on gambling behavior, further research should seek to find out what it is about social media that encourages gambling behavior, and what combination of factors is most likely to force social media users to part with money to play or gamble. We then asked the informants to read each sentence aloud and judge whether it is acceptable or unacceptable. \u0000Results: The interaction of complementizer agreement with the position of the subject in Jordanian Arabic shows that complementizer agreement is sensitive to the active Case requirement for goals (Chomsky 2000, 2001). {"title":"المُحددات التكوينيّة لرأس المال الفكريّ في الجامعات الأردنيّة","authors":"Munir Karadsheh, Abdul Khaleq Al-Khatatneh, Abdul Baset Al-Azzam","doi":"10.35516/hum.v50i5.451","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.35516/hum.v50i5.451","url":null,"abstract":"الأهداف: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة المحددات الديموغرافية، والاجتماعية، والاقتصادية، والأكاديمية، لتكوين رأس المال الفكريّ، عند الأكاديميين في الجامعات الأردنية. المنهجية: تستعين الدراسة بجمع البيانات من الأكاديميين، عبر أداة قياس (الاستبيان)، أعدت خصيصًا لهذا الغرض، التي طبّقت على عينه قوامها (600) باحثٌ أكاديميّ، ومرتكزة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي. النتائج: أظهرت نتائج الدراسة، أنّ تعقيدات إجراءات نشر البحث العلمي، وتقيمه، ودعمه، وقلة عدد المجلات العلمية المتخصصة، وضعف إمكانية الباحثين العلمية، وكثرة الأعباء التدريسية، شكلت تحديات أمام الإنتاج العلمي. كذلك أظهرت النتائج، وجود فروق دالة إحصائيًا في ارتفاع عدد البحوث العلمية المُحكمة أو المنشورة بين أفراد فئات العينة، لصالح: الذكور، وكبار السن، والأسرة صغيرة الحجم، وحملة درجة الدكتوراه، والمتخصصين في العلوم الطبيعية، ومَن هو برتبة أستاذ، والخبرة الطويلة، والدخل المرتفع. كما شكلت \"سنوات الخبرة\"، أهمّ متغير مُفسِّر للتباين في عدد البحوث العلمية، عند الأكاديميين، يليه \"الرّتبة الأكاديمية\"، ثمّ \"النوع الاجتماعي\"، ويليه \"مستوى الدخل الشهري\"، ثمّ \"طبيعة الكلية أو التخصص\"، وأخيرًا \"طبيعة المؤسسة الأكاديمية\". الخلاصة: أوصت الدراسة على ضرورة قيام المؤسسات الأكاديمية الأردنية بوضع البحث العلمي على رأس أولوياتها، ودعم الأكاديميين ماديًا ومعنويًا، وفق استراتيجيات علمية ودقيقة ومدروسة.","PeriodicalId":470438,"journal":{"name":"Dirāsāt","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135126204","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
