The method used in designing an Android-based rural information system is using the waterfall method. The design results consist of service features for the community. services for making letters, searching for population data and village information by village officials, thereby increasing the work efficiency of village officials and village administration to become more orderly and regular. The Android-based rural information system for Montasik District is software that was built to help manage website and Android-based, with correspondence making services starting from requests for Family Cards, Resident Cards, Certificates of Inability, Death Certificate, Birth Certificate, Versatile Certificate, Transfer Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Business Certificate, and Certificate of Good Conduct, as well as information about the Village (vision and mission, Profile, History, Village Potential). This is what causes the learning media to be less than optimal as is the case in the mathematics learning process where the media used in learning material about mathematics in elementary schools is less attractive because of the learning process that still uses classical methods or conventional methods in the teaching and learning process. This research method uses the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method while the data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and literature study. This study aims to design and build learning media applications in the form of Android-based math educational games. Along with the development of the times, many libraries have abandoned the manual system and switched to a digital system. However, the Yapemri library still uses a manual system from borrowing to freezing, so it is not uncommon for opening files to be lost. This causes losses to the library because many loan reports are often lost. Therefore, by utilizing technology the research team developed the Yapemri library application so that the library no longer uses a manual system. The Yapemri Library application was created using the PHP programming language and MySQL as the Xampp database as a web server. This application has gone through two stages of testing, namely user testing and black-box testing. The test results with black-box show that all the features in the application run well. The results of the responses from users stated that they were quite good for this application. This application can be run on the Android platform as a means of interface with the user because of the ease and efficiency it has. Besides that, using Android devices is common and has even become a necessity for most people today. During the data collection process, observations were made at the research location involving interviews with the community around Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, DKI-Jakarta. At the application development stage using the XP (Extreme Programming) method and the use of Location-Based Service (LBS) as location services and mobile devices. The research methodologies used are Rapid Application Development (RAD), Observation, Analysis, Design, Testing, and Implementation. The purpose of this research is to make it easier for visitors to find tourist sites that they don't know about around Lake Toba and make it easier for them to find routes for tourist locations they want to visit. Making available tourist sites more widely known by tourists, as well as culinary and typical souvenirs from these tourist attractions are also known to tourists. The Simulated Annealing algorithm can provide the closest route from several tourist location points and is implemented in making geographic information system applications. In my experience, most design teaching is feeding the machine – sticking to the outdated playbook of modernism, training students in skills for industry now rather than preparing them to contribute thoughtfully to a less materialistic future. With some notable exceptions, there are relatively few schools where sustainable design is core to the curriculum; if included at all, sustainability is merely an afterthought, bolted onto the side of a pre-existing set of courses that serve to maintain the status quo. And where is design research? The phrase ‘rearranging the deck chairs’ comes to mind. Having served for many years on the editorial boards of The Design Journal and similar academic publications, I have a reasonable grasp of the kinds of design research being done internationally. In my view, too much of it is uninspiring and woefully ignorant of the most pressing issues facing us today. Perhaps because design research is still relatively young, it has yet to demonstrate confidence in adopting its own discipline-appropriate methods. Instead, it frequently falls into the trap of mimicking scientific or semi-scientific methods whereby a question or hypothesis is posed, objectives set forth, data gathered and analysed, and conclusions drawn, which may then lead to recommendations, guidelines, a set of tools or some other supposedly practical contribution that other researchers and the profession are virtually guaranteed to ignore. Indeed, I have engaged in this kind of work myself, for the truth is that researchers often have little choice because these are precisely the expectations of the funding councils, the criteria for which were developed out of the sciences and engineering. This kind of stuff is churned out incessantly, filling reams of online and in-print journals, which have proliferated in recent times to fill the growing demands of universities. What is all this for? It is certainly not rising to the major challenge of our time, nor is it constructively advancing design practice.
