En consecuencia nos hemos propuesto como objetivo contribuir al esclarecimiento de este importante aspecto de la historia del pueblo chileno, ofreciendo un enfoque desde la perspectiva de la genetica historica. Examinamos, en primer lugar, la variacion que presentan los haplogrupos pan-americanos de ADN mitocondrial (A, B, C y D) de poblaciones actuales de cinco regiones naturales de Chile continental: Norte Grande, Norte Chico, Zona Central, Zona Sur y Zona Austral. Al evaluar la distribucion de hombres y mujeres de origen ancestral americano se observa una predominancia de mujeres sobre hombres, contrastando este hecho con la distribucion de generos en el grupo de origen europeo, donde se observa consistentemente predominancia del sexo masculino. Luego calculamos distancias geneticas entre representantes de diferentes grupos originarios del cono sur, las regiones naturales de Chile y poblaciones mixtas de Brasil, Bolivia, Peru y Argentina. Las distancias geneticas obtenidas indican, como era de esperar, proximidad genetica entre los pueblos quechua, aimara, y atacameno y el Norte Grande y entre pehuenches, mapuches, huilliches, tehuelches, alacalufes, yaganes y onas y la Zona Sur y Austral y sugieren desplazamientos y mezcla poblacional de grupos de la Amazonia, los Andes Centrales, Chile y Argentina, que tomados en conjunto, contribuyen a entender con mayor claridad el origen geografico de los grupos etnicos chilenos. Our aim is to contribute to the clarification of this important aspect of Chilean history, from the perspective of historical genetics. We first examine the variation of pan-American haplogroups of mitochondrial DNA (A, B, C and D) in five natural regions of continental Chile: Norte Grande (Far North), Norte Chico (Near North), Central Zone, Southern Zone and Southernmost Zone. When evaluating the distribution of men and women of American ancestral origin, the predominance of women over men is noticeable. In contrast, when the gender distribution of individuals of European ancestral origin is analyzed, male predominance is consistently observed. Next we calculated genetic distances between representatives of different ethnic groups of the southern cone of South America, the natural regions of Chile and mixed populations of Brazil, Bolivia, Peru and Argentina. As expected, genetic distances indicate proximity between Quechua, Aymara, and Atacameno and the Norte Grande, and between Pehuenche, Mapuche, Huilliche, Tehuelche, Alacalufe, Yagan and Ona and the Southern and Southernmost Zone. Lo que conocemos como Ruta de Chug-Chug correspondio a una de las principales vias interregionales que conectaba el norte del desierto de Atacama con el sur de los Andes occidentales, siendo uno de los corredores longitudinales mas usados para activar las conexiones entre las sociedades tarapaquenas y atacamenas desde el periodo Formativo en adelante. En el presente articulo damos cuenta de los resultados generales de nuestras investigaciones en el sector desde el ano 2008, evaluando y discutiendo su relevancia macrorregional en la comprension de las dinamicas de movilidad e intercambio entre las sociedades prehispanicas que cohabitaron las regiones de Tarapaca y el area atacamena en los ultimos 2.500 anos de la historia prehispanica (ca. 1000 a.C.-1550 d.C.). EnglishAbstract: The Chug-Chug area stands up in archaeological terms because it is highly relevant for the study of internodal mobility in the Atacama Desert. What is known as the Chug-Chug Route was one of the main inter-regional caravan roads connecting the north of the Atacama Desert with the southern part of the western Andes. It was one of the most frequently used longitudinal corridors to activate connections, particularly between the Tarapaquena and Atacamena societies, from the Formative Period onwards. The present article reports the general results of our research in the area since 2008, assessing and discussing its macro-regional importance for understanding the dynamics of mobility and exchange between the pre-Hispanic societies which co-existed in the Tarapaca and Atacama regions in the last 2,500 years of pre-Hispanic history (ca. 1000 BC-1550 AD).","PeriodicalId":46548,"journal":{"name":"Chungara-Revista De Antropologia Chilena","volume":"17 1","pages":"483-510"},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89065967","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Los esfuerzos por entender esta modalidad, su distribucion espacio-temporal y el potencial de su informacion bioantropologica estan condicionados por el parcial muestreo espacial, la preservacion del material oseo y por el coleccionismo ilegal. En este articulo se presenta nueva informacion de cuatro chenques del valle andino de Nirehuao (Chile) en Patagonia central. Se busco obtener el maximo potencial de estos contextos aun cuando los restos se registraron en estado incompleto. Se sintetizan aspectos contextuales de la modalidad funeraria, se describen las caracteristicas bioantropologicas de los individuos, se presentan fechados radiocarbonicos y valores de isotopos estables del material oseo de cada uno de los individuos identificados y resultados de los analisis de composicion elemental del material metalico asociado a uno de ellos. A partir de ello, se confirma una antiguedad maxima de 1.510 anos cal a.p. para los chenques cercanos a los Andes de Patagonia Central, se muestran patrones isotopicos consistentes con dietas proteicas de amplio espectro y se revela la presencia de materiales exoticos sugerentes de un amplio traslado de bienes durante los siglos XII y XIII. Efforts for understanding this funerary type, its spatio-temporal distribution, and thepotential of its bioanthropological information are conditioned by the partial spatial sampling, preservation of bone material, and illegal collecting. This paper presents novel information from four chenques of the Andean valley of Nirehuao (Chile) in central Patagonia. We sought to record the maximum potential of these contexts, even when the remains were recorded in incomplete state. This paper summarizes contextual aspects of the funerary type, describes the bioanthropological characteristics of the individuals, and presents the radiocarbon dates and the stable isotopes values on bone for each of the identified individuals, as well as the results of the elemental analysis of the metallic material associated with one of them. From this, we confirm a maximum age of 1510 cal years BP for the chenques close to the Andes of Central Patagonia, show isotopic patterns consistent with broad spectrum protein diets and reveal the presence of exotic materials suggestive of a wide-ranging transfer of goods during the 12 and 13th Centuries.","PeriodicalId":46548,"journal":{"name":"Chungara-Revista De Antropologia Chilena","volume":"16 1","pages":"379-395"},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78042633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

EnglishThis paper presents an archaeological and historical characterization of human settlements around the wetlands of the city of Valdivia. It especially focuses on pre-Hispanic and historic ceramic periods until the end of the Spanish Colonial period. The different strategies and relations developed in these water landscapes by indigenous and Hispanic populations are studied from archaeological, documentary, and cartographic sources of information, revealing an ambivalent valuation of wetlands by Spaniards. We propose a process of massive modification of the colonial urban and wetland areas beginning in the last decades of the eighteenth century, through the construction of defensive buildings and bordering walls. This defines an initial moment of transformation of the wetlands zones within and around the city of Valdivia, which will be strengthened throughout the Republican period.","PeriodicalId":46548,"journal":{"name":"Chungara-Revista De Antropologia Chilena","volume":"48 1","pages":"359-377"},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88113663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recientemente, y en respuesta al ocularcentrismo predominante en esta clase de investigaciones, se ha planteado la necesidad de integrar sentidos adicionales a la vista y avanzar hacia paisajes sonoros. Este trabajo expone la permeabilidad visual y las propiedades acusticas de la plaza de un pequeno asentamiento predominantemente Inka a partir de ensayos experimentales in situ y el modelado tridimensional de la arquitectura y de la dispersion de vectores de sonido.
