Materiality Analysis in sustainability reporting helps companies determine the threshold at which sustainability topics become sufficiently important to be included in the report, according to significant organisation’s impacts and to stakeholder’s interests and concerns. To deliver the highest level of transparency for organisational impacts on the economy, environment, a nd people, the latest version of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines, the “Universal Standard 2021”, propose to identify and assess both actual and potential material impacts. In light of this suggestion, the present paper proposes the Materiality Cube as a practical and structured approach for supporting the analysis of organisation’s impacts. The proposed tool allows to evaluate the materiality of impacts considering the company’s strategy, sustainability performance and stakeholder expectations. By comparing the positioning of sustainability topics under the three assessment dimensions, companies can improve the overall process of determining materiality and the accountability towards stakeholders: they can act to address and account for the most material impacts and identify those that could become material over time since they result much more significant from one perspective than the others. An illustrative application of the proposed Materiality Cube completes the paper.

It is a truism that no human society can exist and develop without a good foundation of trust. Trust deals with citizens’ beliefs and expectations and encapsula tes notions of integrity, credibility and dependability of an individual or institution. The relationship between trust and pertinent development issues such as environmental activism, pro-environmental behavior and climate change have not been widely investigated. Even when they are investigated, the focus is on developed countries, especially the United States. In the available literature, there is virtually no research that is focused on the correlates of trust and engagement in environmental activism, especially in the context of African countries. In that regard, this article fills the lacunae using nationally-representative data focusing on the following main research questions: to what extent do trust measures (intimate trust, distant trust, trust vs being careful, take advantage of vs be fair), together with institutional confidence, democratic satisfaction, democratic aspiration, globalization, social network embeddedness, socio-demographics, country of residence, etc. determine engagement in environmental activism and are there some commonalities in relation to the predictors of generalized trust and environmental activism? Data for the paper is based on Wave 6 of the World Values Survey, focusing on the following nine African countries: South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Libya, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. Based on the binary logistic regression models, generalized trust, distant trust (outside familiar circles) institutional confidence, media use, age and country of residence (Ghana, Zimbabwe and Rwanda) are significantly and positively associated with participation in a demonstration for an environmental cause, whereas democratic satisfaction, globalization, gender equality, being male, residing in South Africa and Nigeria are negatively and significantly associated with participation in a demonstration for an environmental cause. Institutional confidence and distant trust are the main consistently common predictors of both environmental activism and generalized trust.

Cereal crops play a major role in national agriculture, in which the main cereals, particularly wheat, occupying an important place in the dietary habits of rural and urban populations, although barley has a predominant place in animal feed. Moreover, food security in Morocco is based on cereal crops. This study aims to evaluate the evolution of the area under crop, the yield, and grain production in Morocco between 1930 and 2020, and the imports of main grains, based on the statistical approach in order to deduce the food security in the cereal sector. The results obtained show that the area cultivated to the main cereals has almost doubled between the decade 1930-1940 and the decade 2010-2020. Soft wheat is the type of cereal that has increased significantly compared to durum wheat and barley. As for cereal production, it is subject to strong fluctuations due to the drought, with a coefficient of variation of 46%. The favorable agro-ecological zone produces 44% of the main cereals in Morocco. Moreover, grain imports multiplied by 917%, particularly bread, a basic element of the diet, where each Moroccan consumes an average of 255 kg per year of wheat, almost fourfold the world average. In addition, Morocco moved from self-sufficiency to dependence on food grain imports after independence, where the import dependency ratio (IDR) reached 39,8% compared to 60,2% for food self-sufficiency (SRR). This indicates the failure of the agricultural policy in the cereal sector. Also, in this study, the requirement of food-grain (R) has been calculated in the time horizon to 2030 and 2050, especially for wheat.

It is almost the most important determinant that determines the favorable conditions of economic activity of economic entities. In general, the socio-economic security of business entities ensures the ability to create and maintain such conditions of economic activity, under which the influence of external and internal factors does not lead to negative processes regarding sustainable development, necessary for achieving the set goals. It considers the system approach to the assessment of socio-economic security of business entities considers which includes the following assessment parameters: main purpose and objectives of the analysis of socio-economic security, selecting types of the analysis of socio-economic security, establishing basic rules and analysis stages, selecting and using basic models, methods and indicators to assess socio-economic security, construction of the aggregated indicator. The study researches of the methods of assessment of socio-economic security. It suggests that the index of socio-economic security is defined by comparing volumes of a company's gross investments and the amount of resources needed to maintain an optimal indicator of socio-economic security, since the source of socio-economic security is the profit received by the company resulting from the interaction with external environment subjects. According to the results of the conducted assessment of socio-economic security by comparing volumes of the company's gross investments and the amount of resources needed to maintain an optimal indicator of socio-economic security, the integral estimate of security in recent years was obtained. The article outlines the aspects of simulating the socio-economic security of business entities, conducted by means of correlation and regression analysis and by forecasting the future security level using quantitative indicators. Using the trends, the paper analyzes the principle and characteristics of other simulating and forecasting techniques and identifies their advantages and disadvantages. Eight socioeconomic and environmental explanatory variables were used to verify their influence on life expectancy. \u0000The analysis highlights the important influence of factors such as urbanization; GDP per capita; fertility rate; education; marital status; CO2 emission and the non-significant influence of other factors, such as health expenditure or health care out-of-pocket healthcare expenditure. This study points out that healthcare spending (public and/or household out-of-pocket spending) is not a significant factor in improving life expectancy in SEE countries. Results illustrate that GDP per capita; urbanization, CO2 emissions, and fertility rate are the most influential and significant explanatory factors. A surprising result concerns marital status, which in this study affects life expectancy inversely in one of the panel regressions. \u0000Life expectancy is a very important and expressive outcome indicator for public health. The results of this study, considering the demographic development of the SEE countries (low fertility rate and aged people), show that policymakers need to consider public healthcare organization and reassess the effectiveness of public health expenditure. The agenda is founded on the triple bottom line (TBL) idea, according to which social inclusion and environmental sustainability are essential for continued economic development. In order to determine the crucial role that human resource development (HRD) plays in sustainability, this study will review relevant academic literature and update the TBL model to include and emphasize the HRD dimension and the dynamism and resilience of the sustainability framework; and to fill the literature gap in relating HRD to sustainability. This paper takes a deductive approach and is based on reviewing state-of-the-art literature to develop a new conceptual framework integrating HRD into the sustainability model. Hence, relevant studies are selected; based on criteria, mainly from refereed journals in the fields of human resources and sustainability. These studies will be critically analyzed to highlight their main focus, findings, and key contributions to the proposed framework. The paper proposed a conceptual framework that is global, resilient, and dynamic in nature to face today’s challenges. This framework aims to capitalize on the previous researchers’ designed sustainability models, try to complement some of these models’ perceived limitations, and shed light on HRD multi-level incorporations in sustainability. \u0000The paper proposed a “Global Dynamic Sustainable Humanity Framework” that stresses on (1) Integrating HRD into the TBL sustainability model; (2) Embedding the resilience concept in the framework; (3) Transforming the sustainability framework into a dynamic one; (4) take the sustainability framework to a global level. The paper also suggested raising “sustainable humanity” awareness by introducing a paradigm shift - from a traditional environment to a sustainable environment – as a prerequisite to the success and effectiveness of the proposed framework. The paper integrated rich theoretical perspectives and sustainability models of different studies into one coherent framework. It also filled the gap in the literature studying the HRD's crucial role in sustainable development. The proposed framework enriches and enables HRD practitioners to play an integral role in sustainable development on the individual, organizational and societal levels – nationally and globally.
