This modern initiative aims to revive the ancient Silk Road and connect China with many neighboring and distant countries and economic blocs. China invests mainly in infrastructure by developing a network of land and maritime roads, facilitating communication, trade and transportation. The various projects under this initiative will make China a leader in international trade and an attractive region for giant partners. This paper analyzes the Chinese presence in Eurasia after the launch of the Belt and Road Initiative and the contemporary geopolitics of Eurasia in light of the great Chinese expansion. This study contributes to clarifying the China-Central Asia relationship and represents this relationship within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. This study is based on data issued by governmental institutions and international research centers, which makes it an important reference in Central Asian studies. This paper concluded that the Belt and Road Initiative will have a significant impact on the economy of Central Asia and its geopolitical position through the great Chinese openness and dependence on Central Asia in China’s regional and international trade. The paper also discusses the Sino-Russian contrast that may arise with the Chinese penetration into Central Asia.","PeriodicalId":46491,"journal":{"name":"Eurasian Journal of Educational Research","volume":"88 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2022-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84192371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodology: The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) approach with the following steps: (1) preliminary study, (2) development, and (3) implementation. The population was all secondsemester students (Classes A, B, and C) in 2020/2021. Samples were 30 students of the Informatics Engineering Study Program at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong. The data was collected from learning outcomes, validated worksheets, and student response and learning motivation instruments. Subsequently, the data were analyzed using learning outcomes data, expert validation, and regression analysis. Findings: The results showed that the design of student worksheets could effectively improve students' high order thinking skills, as indicated from their learning results in the good category. On the other hand, the design can also motivate students and activate their responses following the lesson. Implications to Research and Practice: HOTS-based worksheets encouraged students to understand the material and stimulate their thinking-frame to the maximum. Besides, the worksheet can motivate students to learn to understand the learning materials more easily.","PeriodicalId":46491,"journal":{"name":"Eurasian Journal of Educational Research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2021-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46287011","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method: A Design Thinking mindset questionnaire was given to 197 participants before and after this model was applied. A t-test was used to analyze the data. Findings: the DTIC model fostered students' mindsets such as empathy, holistic view, problem refraining, and teamwork. Students showed very positive feedback and reviews on the model. Implications to Research and Practice: DITC can assist students in grasping Design Thinking concepts, allowing them to understand real-world problems more effectively. This model can be used to support teamwork and problem-solving skills for online learning environments, especially during the Covid19 pandemic. We also included some suggestions for incorporating Design Thinking into the classroom so that this model can be applied more widely. (C) 2021 Ani Publishing Ltd.
