This paper shows the results of testing the powder feeding and distribution system of the developed 3D printer. The device using the SLM method (Selected Laser Melting) was developed by research team of WroclawTech and used in this investigation. The powder feeding and distribution system was tested using a vision system integrated into the printer control system. Thousands of tests performed made it possible to identify the reasons corresponding to incorrect powder distribution on the working field. In addition, a quality control algorithm was developed and implemented in the MatLab environment. Algo - rithms based on image analysis automatically identifies powder distributed in an unacceptable way. An 88% accu - racy rate was achieved for identifying defects in all images within a dataset of 600 pictures, classified into follow - ing categories OK and NOK consisting of: recoater streaking, recoater hopping, super-elevation. The strength of the algorithm developed lies in its utilization of variations in shades of gray, rather than solely relying on the actual gray values. One of the rare elements, Nd, was added to improve the microstructural and mechanical properties and corrosion resistance in simulated blood plasma media. The XRF test determined the chemical characterization ele - ments, the SEM test was used to identify the distribution of phases and their shape inside the base before and after heat treatment, and the XRD test was conducted to determine the type of phases that formed and the effect of these phases on other properties was studied. Also, hardness was measured using Vickers microhardness, in which the improvement rate was 75%, and a compression test to determine the mechanical properties of the prepared alloy found that the modulus of elasticity was 42 GPa. One of the finishing methods for machined elements is vibratory shot peening (VSP). This paper presents the influence of VSP technological conditions on the surface topography and surface roughness (parameters Ra and Rsk) of aluminium alloy AW-7075 samples. Experiments were carried out according to the following plan: first, vibratory shot peening (VSP) was conducted using balls with a diameter d = 3 mm, 6 mm and 9 mm. Then, the surfaces of the samples after VSP (treated with 6 mm diameter balls) were subjected to re-vibratory shot peening (RVSP). As a result of vibratory shot peening, the Ra parameter of the specimens after laser cutting decreased by 71% to 91%, while for the AWJ-treated elements it decreased by 56% to 85%. The additional operation decreased the Ra parameter in the entry zone by 4% to 6% for the samples after laser cutting and by 5% to 7% for the samples after AWJ, when compared to the Ra value after single vibratory shot peening conducted using balls with d=6 mm. After VSP and RVSP, the surface topography of the samples changed. Vibratory shot peening led to the creation of “stria - tions” on the shot-peened surface that could not be completely removed. The re-vibratory shot peening operation (for specific conditions) had a positive effect on the geometric structure of the surface of the elements after cutting. It is an alternative for creating thin-walled structures, as it allows for novel designs. This article focuses on the design and numerical evaluation of 3D printed sandwich structures for energy absorption applications. For this purpose, five structures of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) were designed. To ensure optimal performance, the 3D printing parameters were optimized based on the corresponding literature. The structures had cores based on polygonal and cell arrangements. The effects of cross-section and mass on energy absorption were analyzed, and parameters such as energy absorption, peak load, mean force, and crush force efficiency (CFE) were determined during the study. The structures were assessed by out-of-plane compression tests. The numerical analysis was executed using Abaqus finite element software. Re - sults showed that the energy absorption performance is primarily determined by the geometry and density of the structures. Utilizing ANSYS Fluent software, we conducted numerical simulations to analyze the behavior of compressible flow around the airfoil, specifically at a Mach number (Ma) of 0.73, while varying the angles of attack. The mini TEDs employed in our simulations com - prised a Gurney flap and a divergent trailing-edge. Our findings demonstrate that incorporating these mini TEDs at the trailing-edge leads to a noteworthy increase in the lift coefficient (CL) and drag coefficient (CD). However, it is worth noting that this enhancement resulted in an improved lift-to-drag ratio for the airfoil for specific angles of attack. Al-4%Cu and Al-4%Cu-0.1%V sheets were produced and rolled from 4 mm to 3 mm followed by 3 to 2 mm, and finally from 2 mm to 1.3 mm. After each pass, the tensile test was performed in three directions from which the maximum tensile force, deformation energy, microhardness, and average surface roughness (Ra) were determined. A pronounce finding is that the addition of both additions of 0.1% vanadium to Al-4%Cu alloy and multi-rolling passes resulted in reducing the deformation energy by 85.4, and the maximum tensile forces reduced by 56.6%, this resulted in reduction of production cost of AlCuV alloys, furthermore, it resulted in reducing the anisotropy of AlCuV alloy. A toolbox for working with type-1 controllers can be found in the Simulink package, while there are only few, simple toolboxes for type-2 fuzzy controllers. The article describes the details of the created software, which allows working both with simulation objects, but also enables creating program code for a PLC industrial controller. This gives the opportunity to work in a simulation environment with a model of the control object and then, after tuning the controller, to automatically implement the controller to control the real object. In the literature, one can find many methods for reducing type-2 to type-1 fuzzy logic, but most often they are compared to several well-known classical reduction methods, such as the KM algorithm. There is no compilation of the most popular methods and a comparison of their performance. Three cases of the rolling process are modelled numerically: standard rolling, wasteless rolling and rolling from a preform. The rolling cases under analysis are compared in terms of material and energy consumption, forming loads as well as propensity to internal and external defect formation. Using the Cockcroft-Latham criterion and the limits of this criterion determined by the rotary compression test, an assessment was made of the propensity of the material to fracture during the rolling processes analysed. Based on numerical results, standard CWR is selected for experimental verification. Obtained experimental results confirm that CWR is an effective method for producing railcar axles that are free from both internal and external defects.
