This research would be the first of its kind and nature. It would study the social causes of RECs against Ops from the perspective of the victims. The present study is qualitative in nature and used the Multiple Case Study Design to study the topic under investigation. Thirty-six participants were selected through purposive sampling from the district of Lahore. Data was collected through in-depth interviews. The findings revealed that being away from the properties (absentee owners), lack of legal awareness and proper knowledge, blind trust, greed, unguarded properties, patriarchy, and being away from their tribe were the major reasons of real estate crimes against overseas Pakistanis. Overseas Pakistanis should not have blind trust on others and rather they must complete required documentation of their properties. They should be cautiously social enough to have check and balance on their property along with taking appropriate steps to safeguard them by keeping themselves abreast of latest development related to laws and neighborhood of the property. So that a culprit may not tend to consider committing RECs against their properties since the culprits of RECs are rational offender who do their cost-benefit analysis before committing such crimes.","PeriodicalId":46316,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Policy Research in Tourism Leisure and Events","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136365660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The researchers conducted survey to understand the difference between the real and virtual personalities of social media users. 256 students — aged 17 to 25 years — enrolled in different universities of Lahore were reached out conveniently to get their responses on 22 closed ended questions of questionnaire. The Social Displacement Theory guided the researchers to analyze the obtained data on SPSS to interpret their communication preferences in virtual and real life. The chi-square test approved the hypothesis as it showed a significant association between social media usage and anti-social behavior among users. This study concluded that higher social media usage paved the way for users to get isolated from the real world — pointing towards estrangement from social gathering. Hence, an individual must maintain a balance between real and virtual identities.","PeriodicalId":46316,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Policy Research in Tourism Leisure and Events","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136368896","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Employing a convenient sampling technique, the study involved a sample size of 150(83 males, 67 females) parents, aiming to explore the diverse parenting styles and their potential implications for child development across various domains. This research examines four primary parenting styles: authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful, each characterized by distinct combinations of parental warmth and control. By surveying and analyzing the responses and behaviors of participating parents, the study illuminates the far-reaching influence of these parenting styles on child development. In terms of cognitive development, the study's findings reveal significant differences based on parenting style. Authoritative parenting, characterized by high levels of warmth and reasonable control, is associated with positive cognitive outcomes in children. Such children tend to exhibit better problem-solving skills, higher academic achievement, and greater intellectual curiosity. Conversely, authoritarian parenting, which emphasizes strict control and lacks warmth, tends to yield children with increased anxiety, lower self-esteem, and diminished cognitive growth. Emotional development is another critical dimension explored in this research. Children raised by authoritative parents typically demonstrate enhanced emotional regulation and resilience. On the contrary, children subjected to authoritarian parenting often struggle with emotional expression and may face challenges in forming healthy emotional bonds. The study also delves into social development, highlighting the profound impact of parenting styles in this realm. Authoritative parenting contributes to the development of socially competent and well-adjusted children, while authoritarian parenting may lead to social withdrawal or aggressive behavior in children. The research underscores the importance of a balanced and supportive approach to parenting in fostering healthy social relationships and interpersonal skills. Overall, this quantitative survey research study sheds light on the pivotal role of parenting styles in shaping the trajectory of child development. Its findings underscore the significance of authoritative parenting, which combines warmth and appropriate levels of control, as an effective approach to nurturing well-rounded and thriving children.","PeriodicalId":46316,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Policy Research in Tourism Leisure and Events","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136369098","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
