This study uses the superimpose method with weighted overlay in spatial modeling to analyze land, water, electricity, settlements, and waste carrying capacity. In 2042, it is expected that three of the five carrying capacity variables will experience a deficit. The deficiency variables are the availability of land, electricity, and water. In addition, these conditions are assessed through spatial distribution using GIS, which identifies four regions in the Labuan Bajo urban area that fall under the category of high-priority treatment. Based on these findings, Labuan Bajo must prioritize sustainability so that the spatial planning and allocation of resources are cognizant of carrying capacity in order to realize sustainable development of urban area with main activity is tourism industry, particularly in the urban area of Labuan Bajo.KEYWORDS: Urban carrying capacityGIS spatial modelingLabuan Bajo Floressustainable tourismnature-based tourism AcknowledgementsThank the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology through the KEDAIREKA scheme for the 2022 Fiscal Year (Contract Number: 683/E1. l/KS.06.02/2022). Vietnam is a developing socialist-oriented market economy, which heavily depends on agriculture, the export of raw materials, foreign direct investment, and tourism. In particular, the opening of the Vietnamese economy and a complete overhaul of the government’s economic policy have played a significant role in the growth of the tourist economy over the past ten years. Recognizing the outstanding contribution of tourism to the national economy, the government decided to boost the tourism industry and as a first launched Tourism policy 2017. Developed from modernization theory and policy implementation theory, this study aims to measure how successful this policy was using the difference-in-difference estimation with two observed periods: 2014–2016 and 2017–2019. This model has never been applied to the tourism sector before. Unfortunately, the effectiveness of the tourism policy is not found. The factors driving the growth of tourism revenue are the trained workforce and a dynamic environment with the participation of a large number of businesses per year. Firstly, this stage (2017–2019) could be seen as the time for the policy to reach out to localities, thus it has not been effective. Secondly, this policy was not yet powerful enough to promote breakthrough growth in comparison with the previous period. Lastly, the policy for tourism development was lack of information, funds, processes, in order for the parties involved in tourism activities could access. Based on these findings, some recommendations are made. The findings may serve as a value reference for policymakers in Vietnam and other nations.","PeriodicalId":46316,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Policy Research in Tourism Leisure and Events","volume":"15 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135678830","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We use a unique statistical approach called quantile-on-quantile (QQ) to examine this connection. The findings of the study show a favorable relationship between tourism and HPs in these megacities, with notable variances reported across different quantiles within the cities. For each metropolitan center, these findings have substantial policy ramifications. In a number of important ways, our research adds to the body of information in the existing literature. First, this paper illuminates the fascinating dynamics of China’s tourism sector. Second, it is the first inquiry to look at how tourism-related activities and HPs are related using the QQ approach. To give a novel perspective to the investigation, this paper uses the QQ technique to ascertain how actual international tourism receipts and HPs are related.KEYWORDS: Tourismhousing pricesquantile-on-quantile estimationmegacityChina Disclosure statementNo potential conflict of interest was reported by the author(s).Notes1 Here is the website for the data: http://www.stats.gov.cn/english/","PeriodicalId":46316,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Policy Research in Tourism Leisure and Events","volume":"23 19","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135863561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method employed in this study involves utilizing a special bootstrap multivariate Granger causality test. The results of this analysis complement the findings of the asymmetric panel causality test, as they reveal a causal relationship between positive shocks to RITRs and positive shocks to real gross domestic product (RGDP) in Singapore and Thailand, respectively. Additionally, negative shocks in Cambodia, Hong Kong and Macau demonstrate a causal link between RITRs and RGDP, suggesting that fluctuations in tourism revenues can impact the economic growth of these regions.KEYWORDS: Tourismeconomic developmentsymmetric and asymmetric Granger causality testpanel data‌Asia Disclosure statementNo potential conflict of interest was reported by the author(s).","PeriodicalId":46316,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Policy Research in Tourism Leisure and Events","volume":"22 10","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136135552","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It presents a two-stage study, which explores policy suggestions proposed at a United Kingdom Parliamentary Committee Inquiry into Wales’s international marketing. An online survey was conducted with international students, as representative of tourists open to less familiar destinations and well-represented amongst fantasy fans, to test the appeal of a differentiation strategy for Wales incorporating folklore. Having established the market potential of folklore, a co-design workshop was held with 36 tourism and creative sector stakeholders to discuss the challenges of leveraging legends and fantasy film locations to attract international visitors. The paper discusses the tourism policy and practice opportunities of adopting this strategy for the folklore-rich but resource-constrained small destination of Wales. It concludes with insights, which have relevance for similar national DMOs and related agencies.","PeriodicalId":46316,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Policy Research in Tourism Leisure and Events","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135740411","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study aimed to understand the Eidetic Parents Test (EPT) implementation and its effectiveness on Academic Procrastination among university students. Ten participants were selected and the Tuckman Procrastination Scale (Tuckman, 1991) was administered. The Eidetic Parents Test was conducted, and post-intervention scores for Academic Procrastination were taken on the Tuckman Procrastination Scale (Tuckman, 1991). Data was analyzed using a paired-sample t-test. The study's results revealed a significant difference between the levels of Academic Procrastination after (M=59.60, SD=2.70) and before the intervention (M=38.00, SD=4.24). Nonparametric analysis through Wilcoxon signed-rank test depicted a non-significant difference among males and females on the Academic Procrastination Scale. The Eidetic Parents Test (EPT) is an effective intervention in reducing the levels of Academic Procrastination among university students. Therefore, it has been suggested that EPT can be used as an intervention for Academic Procrastination.","PeriodicalId":46316,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Policy Research in Tourism Leisure and Events","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135084641","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
