Among these, omnichannel retailing services are one of the most critical services. However, studies on the loyalty required to secure the market using omnichannel strategies are limited. Instead of arbitrarily selecting key factors for users’ loyalty based on previous research data used by users in social networking services were evaluated in this study, and the validity of the selection of variables was verified through network analysis. A structural equation model based on the results of network analysis and the factors influencing online loyalty and offline loyalty were analysed using the model. Therefore, independent variables except for perceived usability exhibited a positive effect on user satisfaction, and user satisfaction had a positive effect on loyalty. Furthermore, offline user satisfaction exhibited a positive effect on online loyalty, but online user satisfaction did not. Suggestions for future research and corporate strategy were provided.","PeriodicalId":45884,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Technology Innovation","volume":"31 1","pages":"27 - 48"},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2021-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47370994","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, the results of previous studies on whether R&D subsidies are effective for large corporations or more effective for SMEs have been mixed. This study analyses research studies in Korea over the past 20 years and provides comprehensive conclusions on these controversies. As a methodology, firstly, meta-analysis is performed to synthesise the results of previous studies. Secondly, more sophisticated effect sizes are estimated by meta-regression analysis, and then panel analysis is performed to confirm robustness. The results indicate that government R&D subsidies have a positive (+) additionality effect on corporate R&D investment. It is also found that the additionality effect is larger when R&D subsidies are provided to SMEs rather than large enterprises. Analysis by time showed a negative (−) effect appears initially, and the trend improved over time to a positive (+) effect. The results of this study can be used as primary data for verifying the economic feasibility of the government R&D supports and setting the basic direction for the R&D subsidy policy in the future.","PeriodicalId":45884,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Technology Innovation","volume":"31 1","pages":"72 - 93"},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2021-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43901417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While both China and Malaysia rely to a large extent on attracting foreign direct investment, China has, since its economic liberalisation in the late 1970s, implemented a more proactive set of industrial policy to embed foreign know-how and promote domestic technological deepening. This is illustrated through a comparison of the evolution of the Chinese and Malaysian semiconductor (upstream) industry. Although their progress remains tentative at this stage, China seems to be showing more concrete signs of technological and industrial sophistication than Malaysia. Such mastery is a useful platform for Chinese firms to progressively climb the technological ladder and to capture more value from the production and sales of increasingly complex goods and services. The principles discussed in this paper provide policy lessons, or at least some initial guidance, for other developing economies aspiring to move up the value chain.","PeriodicalId":45884,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Technology Innovation","volume":"31 1","pages":"49 - 71"},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2021-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42481193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, this research proposed that perceived ease of use positively affects perceived usefulness, which thereby exerts a positive influence on attitude. In addition, subjective norm was hypothesised in order to facilitate the enhancement of attitude and personal norm. Lastly, attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioural control, and personal norm were proposed to play important roles in the formation of behavioural intentions. The data was collected from 416 respondents in South Korea. The data analysis results showed that all the hypotheses within the model that merged the TAM and TPB were statistically supported.","PeriodicalId":45884,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Technology Innovation","volume":"30 1","pages":"466 - 489"},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2021-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44005820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To the best of our knowledge, the existing literature focuses on the migration of workers between regions. Still, we employ a temporary policy of human mobility restriction in China to estimate the effect of COVID-19 on innovation. We find that the number of application invention patents decreases remarkably 1.813 using RD design and remains declined even if we rule out the Spring Festival and the viral effects using RD-DID. Moreover, the mechanism research suggests that the lockdown causes a decline in the population mobility within Wuhan city and inflow from other cities and we rule out the mechanism that skilled labours flow out Wuhan. In addition, we further find that institutional innovations have a significant reduction, especially invention patents in universities. This study highlights the enormous negative impact of human mobility restrictions on innovation due to COVID-19.","PeriodicalId":45884,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Technology Innovation","volume":"31 1","pages":"1 - 26"},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2021-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44986868","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study employed a mixed-methods approach using empirical analysis based on firm-level secondary data of China’s manufacturing sector and multi-case analysis to provide evidence on whether and how innovativeness could help businesses to survive the Covid-19 crisis and thrive afterward. We find that innovativeness empowers firms to withstand the negative financial consequences of the crisis. The first quarter 2020 analysis based on a sample of 606 manufacturing firms reveal that innovative firms appear more efficient and profitable and have significantly higher chances of survival than less innovative firms. Furthermore, the second-quarter results based on a sample of 582 firms show that innovative firms exhibit higher operating efficiency and a greater probability of survival relative to others. The results remain consistent even after controlling for common firm characteristics and sector fixed effects. From additional analyses, we further find that the innovativeness-performance association is even stronger than the one found during pre-crisis periods, suggesting that a firm’s innovation capabilities have greater utility in the rapidly changing situation rather than a stable environment. The paper contributes to knowledge that will be of use to managers, researchers, and policymakers.","PeriodicalId":45884,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Technology Innovation","volume":"30 1","pages":"689 - 714"},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2021-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41806230","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, due to the dominance of traditional technologies and the underdevelopment of green technology capabilities, the speed at which green innovation enters the market is slow. Overcoming competitive disadvantages for latecomer green innovations has become a key issue to be solved. Disruptive innovation theory provides latecomers with opportunities for leapfrog development. Combined with the theory of disruptive innovation and green innovation, this study proposes a new model for market-oriented green innovation – disruptive green innovation. This study then attempts to develop a scale of disruptive green innovation. Through qualitative methods such as literature deduction, interview induction and expert screening, the initial items of disruptive green innovation are set up. Through quantitative methods such as pretests and large sample tests, the initial items are refined and analyzed. Finally, the scale of disruptive green innovation composed of seven items is developed. This study not only provides important theoretical guidance for the market strategy deployment of green innovation in China and clear measurement tools for follow-up research but also provides important practical enlightenment for green innovation to catch up in the fierce market competition.","PeriodicalId":45884,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Technology Innovation","volume":"30 1","pages":"672 - 688"},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2021-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42900469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on signal theory and expectancy theory, this paper studies the role of industry peers who have obtained government R&D subsidies in raising awareness and motivation of other non-funded firms to engage in the same project. Using Chinese listed firms between 2008 and 2016 as the empirical sample, this paper introduces the awareness-motivation-capability (AMC) framework and uses the Logit regression to examine the associations between peer effects and strategy choice. The empirical results indicate that the number of funded firms in an industry and their superior performance have positive impact on non-funded firms to obtain government R&D subsidies, and these relationships are further strengthened by non-funded firms’ innovation ability and profitability. This study makes contributions to literature on government R&D subsidies and peer effect by providing a view of imitation behaviour in innovation activities.","PeriodicalId":45884,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Technology Innovation","volume":"30 1","pages":"601 - 625"},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2021-08-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48759073","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve the objectives, generalised method of moments (GMM) and pooled ordinary least square (OLS), fixed effect and random effect models have been applied using yearly panel data of individuals using internet as ICT, growth rate of gross domestic product (GDP) as economic progress, electric power consumption as energy consumptions and foreign direct investment (FDI). This study observes significantly positive impact of ICT on renewable energy consumptions while negative and insignificant impact on the economic progress in India and China. It is observed that countries are similar in renewable energy expansion, time spent on internet, electricity generation and policy support for renewable energy generation while they significantly differ in the number of internet subscribers, internet-based entrepreneurships and sources of renewable energy. This study proposes to apply ICT in all possible sectors to boost-up economic growth as well as to enhance the demand for renewable energy consumptions.","PeriodicalId":45884,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Technology Innovation","volume":"30 1","pages":"651 - 671"},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2021-08-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44195632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study adopted the propensity score matching method using inverse probability weights to estimate the average treatment effect on the treated. This research found that the effects of the public subsidy on the input, behavioural, and output additionality varies depending on the subcontracting regimes in manufacturing SMEs. This study also shows that the lower the hierarchical position within subcontracting regimes the more effects of the public subsidy on the input and output additionality are reduced, signalling that the lower the hierarchy of the subcontracting regimes, the less the effectiveness of public subsidy in promoting innovation of SMEs. The results imply that the position of SMEs embedded in subcontracting regimes needs to be considered to mitigate factors that inhibit innovation to correct market failures and improve the knowledge spillover. Further, this study suggests that SMEs need to establish the optimal innovation strategy that can leverage their capability and resource dependence with consideration of their position in the subcontracting regimes.","PeriodicalId":45884,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Technology Innovation","volume":"30 1","pages":"626 - 650"},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2021-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/19761597.2021.1958692","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43385317","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
