This article measures the level of enterprise digitization using two methods: the enterprise digitization index and text analysis word frequency statistics. Additionally, carbon emissions are obtained by measuring various types of emissions according to the carbon emission classification range standard. To account for endogeneity and unobservable variables, relative indicators, such as the rate of increase for company emissions of carbon, are utilized. Using microdata from Chinese listed firms from 2011 to 2021, this study examines the implications of corporate digitization on enterprise carbon emissions. This study further analyzes the transmission mechanism and investigates the function of green finance in controlling corporate digitization and reducing corporate carbon emissions by distinguishing between two types of green patents. Research shows that businesses’ carbon emissions are greatly reduced as a consequence of getting digital. Even after performing several robustness and endogeneity tests, the conclusion still remains valid. According to mechanism analysis, which demonstrates that the main strategy for reducing corporate emissions of carbon through the digitalization of enterprises is to promote innovation in green technology. The regulation of green finance in enterprise digitalization will further reduce corporate carbon emissions. According to the analysis of heterogeneity, state-owned businesses and those situated in areas with stringent environmental regulations are more significantly impacted by enterprise digitization on corporate carbon emissions. The CEPI applies a joint supervision strategy to address salient environmental issues and strictly enforce the environmental responsibilities of local governments. This study collects and organizes CEPI inspection reports covering three stages that encompass the first round, the “look back”, and the second round, applying text analysis to obtain sample data and conduct statistical quantification of word frequency in inspection reports and identify notable changes. The study explores the allocation of CEPI attention between policy objectives and the intensity of policy instruments. We determine that in conjunction with public opinion feedback, the CEPI conducts targeted inspections and focuses more on pollutant governance, which has high severity and can be addressed quickly. The CEPI fills the gap of normalized governance with a campaign-style governance approach. Regarding the intensity of policy measures, the CEPI primarily uses economic incentive policy instruments, supplemented by command-and-control and public guidance approaches, advancing the sustainability of regulatory effectiveness through economic, social, and political activities. Findings demonstrate that market coordination maximizes urban GTPF. At the mechanism level, factor mismatch plays a mediating role, and market coordination can enhance GTPF by addressing capital and labor mismatch. In terms of heterogeneity analysis, market coordination significantly promotes GTPF positively in the east-central region and negatively in the western region. In terms of technological progress and technical efficiency, the eastern region shows a larger significance than the central and western regions combined. Drawing upon the relevant literature, we incorporate resource constraints as the antecedent to the bricolage-innovation link. Compared to prior studies that treated resource constraints as a one-dimensional variable, we operationalize it along two dimensions: knowledge constraints and financial constraints. Our argument posits that knowledge constraints and financial constraints act as catalysts for innovation in new firms, with bricolage serving as a mediating role. To test our hypotheses, we conducted a survey involving 183 entrepreneurs in the United States. The data analysis demonstrates that bricolage fully mediates the relationship between knowledge constraints and innovation and partially mediates the relationship between financial constraints and innovation. After years of development, China’s online food delivery market reached RMB 664.62 billion in 2020. In 2022, Meituan Waimai and Ele.me, two food delivery platforms, have created a duopoly in China’s food delivery industry. Due to the success of the food delivery industry, a significant amount of food delivery packaging waste has caused far-reaching harm. This literature review primarily organizes the research on the impact of online food delivery packaging from the perspective of environmental protection. It uses the criterion layer index of online food delivery waste management ecosystem to analyze the impact of the government, environmental non-governmental organizations (NGOs), garbage recycling processors, consumers, online food delivery platforms, takeaway merchants, and takeaway packaging manufacturers. The review shows that scholars generally believe that takeaway waste management is a complex process involving multiple factors. The implementation of policies at the government level is inadequate, and studies at the environmental NGO level are scant. At the consumer level, more environmental awareness education is required. Online food delivery platforms and takeaway merchants should assume greater corporate social responsibility, and manufacturers of takeaway packaging need prioritize the substitution of environmentally friendly materials. There is a consensus that paper-made and recyclable packaging boxes are more environmentally friendly than degradable packaging, which is not as environmentally friendly as is commonly believed. The academia and the industry have conducted various studies and pilot projects on recyclable packaging. If all levels cooperate well, this will be an effective way to manage takeaway packaging garbage. At last, we propose the following assumptions for future research: Besides environmental hazards, takeaway garbage has caused direct or indirect physical harm to humans and animals. Increasing consumer awareness may increase their propensity to participate in governance. Additionally, existing food delivery platforms may need to improve their corporate social responsibility awareness to provide environmentally conscious consumers with sufficient and effective plastic reduction guidance measures during the ordering process. Moreover, will biodegradable plastic products face the same ironic situation as biofuels? That is, the initial intention of technology development is to improve the environment, but the actual process of production or processing may controversially aggravate the environment.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":45743,"journal":{"name":"Chinese Journal of Population Resources and Environment","volume":"21 3","pages":"Pages 197-202"},"PeriodicalIF":9.3,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49801214","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, we establish export production function as based on endogenous growth theory in which role of FDI is considered as additional determinant of export. The Pedroni residual-based co-integration test and Error Correction Model (ECM) are applied for the long and short-run relationships. Pedroni residual based approach highlighted that human capitals, domestic capitals, foreign direct investments, exports, and domestic sales are co-integrated in the long run. According to results of ECM, coefficient of FDI appears to have statistical significant impact on exports and has a positive sign in the long run. Whereas, FDI does not contribute to export growth in the short run but it takes time to influence the growth patterns of the sector. On the basis of theoretical notion of endogenous growth theory, long-run coefficient of FDI may be interpreted as evidence in favour of the hypotheses that FDI has an impact on exports via export development. Thus, it can be concluded that “FDI-based endogenous growth theory” is valid in the case of Pakistan.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":45743,"journal":{"name":"Chinese Journal of Population Resources and Environment","volume":"21 3","pages":"Pages 181-188"},"PeriodicalIF":9.3,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49801599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, it employs a spatial difference-in-differences (DID) framework to quantify both the direct and spatially mediated impacts of CETP on urban carbon emission efficiency (CEE). The investigation further delves into the underlying channels of influence and variations within this context. The findings demonstrate that CETP effectively enhances CEE within the cities chosen for piloting; however, it concurrently dampens CEE in nonpiloting neighboring cities. These conclusions remain robust across diverse sensitivity tests. The analysis of mechanisms reveals that CETP’s influence on urban CEE primarily operates through the avenues of technological innovation and optimization of energy structure. Moreover, the study of variances discloses that CETP’s direct effect significantly advances CEE in eastern, old industrial base, and central cities. In terms of indirect effects, a pronounced adverse spatial spillover effect is observed in eastern and old industrial base cities, while noteworthy positive spatial spillover effects emerge in central cities. Notably, the spatial extent of CETP’s influence on urban CEE declines after reaching a distance of 900 km. These insights furnish valuable guidance for China in refining its nationwide carbon market and expediting the shift toward a low-carbon economy.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":45743,"journal":{"name":"Chinese Journal of Population Resources and Environment","volume":"21 3","pages":"Pages 121-136"},"PeriodicalIF":9.3,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49801211","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
