Methods: integrative review developed in seven databases, besides the use of Grey literature in Google Scholar and Open Grey. The Problem, Concept, and Context strategies were used to develop the guiding question and select the descriptors. Eight articles and one thesis were included in the final sampling. Results: three new characteristics were identified: Urinary Incontinence; Dysfunctional Family Processes and Sleep Pattern Disorder. The most frequent defining characteristics of the Frail Elderly Syndrome Nursing Diagnosis were: impaired physical mobility; decreased activity tolerance; unbalanced nutrition: less than the body needs and impaired ambulation. Among the related factors, the most present was: impaired muscle strength; cognitive dysfunction, and impaired postural balance. Conclusion: it was found that the three defining characteristics that are not present in NANDA-I need to be further investigated to be included in the Nursing Diagnosis Frail Elderly Syndrome. Contributions to practice: the study provides nurses with a deeper understanding of this diagnosis, supporting and strengthening the clinical reasoning necessary for decision-making to correctly assign the diagnosis to the patient.","PeriodicalId":45440,"journal":{"name":"Rev Rene","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-01-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78817898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: cross-sectional analytical research with sociodemographic, clinical, self-perception of health and WHODAS 2.0 scale data of patients discharged from a teaching hospital. Patients admitted to an intensive care unit for COVID-19 for more than eight days, discharged from the hospital at least 365 days before data collection and older than 18 years were included. Information analysis was performed using data mining. Results: 32 individuals were eligible, 25% were disabled. These individuals presented low cognition, mobility, self-care, limitation in daily activities, justified by biological and clinical parameters. Still, 37% by obesity and polymedication, 75%, impaired concentration and 50%, neurological developments. The length of hospitalization and the therapeutic resources demanded in this period were also associated with the disability observed. Conclusion: the COVID-19 virus added to the length of hospitalization and clinical factors ware related to disability 12 months after hospital discharge with strong presence of neurological symptoms. Contributions to practice: it is expected to contribute to the understanding of the long-term impacts of COVID-19, enabling to offer better assistance and quality of life to patients affected by the disease.","PeriodicalId":45440,"journal":{"name":"Rev Rene","volume":"107 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2022-11-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89163018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: experimental study of pre-test and post-test type applied to randomized intervention and control groups. The sample consisted of 30 students, randomly divided. The analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential statistics, through Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and t-test for independent samples, considering statistical significance p≤0.05. A satisfaction scale validated with the intervention group was applied. Results: we identified increased correct answers in post-test in the intervention group, which was submitted to realistic simulation. In this group, the mean number of errors varied from 4.87 in the pre-test to 2.13 in the post-test. In the control group, students either decreased or maintained the number of correct answers in the post-test, and mean errors increased, from 3.87 in the pre-test to 4.0 in post-test. The difference in correct answers between intervention and control groups was significant (p=0.000). Conclusion: from realistic simulation, students obtained a lower average error rate on post-test. Contributions to practice: results of this research favor the curricular insertion of simulation for teaching pulmonary physical examination in undergraduate nursing.","PeriodicalId":45440,"journal":{"name":"Rev Rene","volume":"29 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2022-11-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81083652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: descriptive research, with a sequential quantitative-qualitative mixed method, in three full-time schools located in socially vulnerable neighborhoods. Results: 147 female adolescents participated, with a mean age of 14. Body image dissatisfaction by the Silhouettes Scale and the Adolescent Dissatisfaction Rating Scale predominated. There was a lack of knowledge about the female condom and the correct handling of the male condom to prevent sexually transmitted infections. Conclusion: there was no significant association among the variables: body image perception, knowledge of preventive measures, and sexual behavior; however, it was evidenced a tendency of the adolescents dissatisfied with their body image perception to expose themselves to sexual conduct with more than one partner at the same time. Furthermore, the adolescents' body image dissatisfaction influenced their knowledge about the female condom, HIV, and family. Contributions to practice: the actions of health promotion and education for adolescent girls should consider factors that raise the perception of positive body image, from strategies that reinforce self-esteem and safe sexual conduct.","PeriodicalId":45440,"journal":{"name":"Rev Rene","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2022-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80465228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
