The results are very worrying and have a negative impact on users and threaten families, communities and the country and reflect the effectiveness of existing drug awareness, treatment and rehabilitation programs. Therefore, efforts to improve knowledge and information delivery on drug prevention education need to be reviewed and implemented holistically. This study examines the effectiveness of drug prevention media materials from the perspective of drug addicts and the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK). The purposive sampling method is used to focus on a specific target audience to achieve the study's objectives. This research uses a mixed-method approach that combines quantitative and qualitative. All research data were obtained from 200 drug addict respondents from four Rehabilitation Centers surveyed through a questionnaire and 100 informants of AADK staff through a semi-structured questionnaire. The study's findings show that the effectiveness of publicity materials related to education (M=2.39, SD=.884) and drug prevention (M=2.26, SD=.674) in Malaysia is low. The study also shows that delivering drug prevention education messages through social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube is very important and effective. In the effort to provide preventive education messages, the production of short videos, compact messages, illustrations, and interesting music and graphics is seen to have a positive impact on the target group. The documentary also received mainstream media coverage and had such a far-reaching appeal that it swayed many voters into not voting in the election. Showing the impact of coal mining on Indonesia’s environment and its people, the documentary exposed networks of business owners and politicians who had stakes in the coal mining company. This research thus delves into understanding the public discourse, especially the high number of YouTube comments on the documentary. The analysis revealed that despite the documentary’s widespread popularity, the discussion within the comments did not focus on the environmental problems (72.9%). Most of the comments discussed the political campaign and presidential candidates (41.3%), instead of discussing the environmental impact of coal mining in Indonesia (13.9%). The research is valuable in highlighting the centrality of political debates dwarfing real environmental issues in Indonesia. Environment activists use documentary movies as one of their advocacy strategies, but it must be followed by audience engagement strategy to assure the discussions are still relevant to increase audience awareness on the issue. The news was selected based on a purposive sampling of these newspapers published every May from 1999 to 2008 during the anniversary of the May 1998 tragedy. By using Robert N. Entman’s framing theory, the findings found that Kompas, Republika, and Suara Karya dominantly framed their news coverage of the tragedy on the following four elements, i.e., the tragedy of humanity, intellectual actors, victims’ suffering, and post-tragedy events. The legal issues as the main point of resolving the May 1998 tragedy were ignored in the news. The recommendations to interrogate the actors summoned by the Joint Fact Finding Team (Tim Gabungan Pencari Fakta/TGPF) for the May 1998 tragedy were never mentioned in the news. These news reports put the victims and their families as victims of individual action, not as victims of structural crimes. In addition, the recommendation produced by these newspapers after the tragedy is predominantly to strengthen solidarity with the victims and their families, not to prosecute the cases legally. In conclusion, these news media are believed to be conscious of not getting to the May 1998 tragedy as there is no political interest of the Indonesian government to resolve the tragedy. Sometimes the scenes (in horror movies) contain the collisions between counter-myths and dominant myths (and vice versa), or the scenes show the dialectical reconciliations between both myths. Therefore, this study aims to analyse how the collisions between dominant myths and counter-myths and vice versa are described in three Indonesian horror movies. Sociologically, the semiotic examination shows the trend of the last two types of dialectical reconciliations between Islamic teachings and adultery and between Islamic teachings and corrupt practices, since the first two reconciliations have been explained in another manuscript. Also, there are four motives why people adopt counter-myths, like (1) the treasure (harta), (2) the political position (takhta), (3) the romance (asmara), and (4) the sexual pleasure (kesenangan seksual). In contrast, there are two motives why people go back to re-adopting dominant myths, like (1) regret (penyesalan) and (2) safety (keamanan). Moreover, the study discusses the draft of the new Postmillennial Gothic, which rehabilitates and beautifies Indonesian demonic characters to fight criminals who practice the dialectical reconciliation between dominant myth and counter-myth. Finally, it is possible to apply this idea in Indonesia because there are cultural and sociological situations that support its implementation. Consequently, the role of political actors in discourse becomes unattractive and is replaced by media studies. It was discovered that ideographs, and word artefacts, link socio-political cognition and political discourse in practice. They also narrate the ideology of political actors in their daily speeches and quotes in different media outlets, with the meanings presented in vast interpretations. However, these interpretative meanings rely on political function and are embedded in the political position. It is assumed that an ideograph serves as an ideological identity in public discourse while the political organisation of the actors determines the interpretative meaning. Therefore, two prominent ideographs in the Omnibus Law discourse on Job Creation, \"welfare\" and \"democracy,\" were explored to show the \"anchored meaning\" and describe how ideological identity leads to the creation of ideographic meaning. We analyse the network of the two ideographs using Discourse Network Analysis (DNA) by Philip Leified and Ideographic Analysis (IA). The findings showed that the functional meaning of \"welfare\" and \"democracy\" depends on the use of actors in specific discourse. We concluded that the political position of actors in ideographic narratives plays a more dominant role in the relationship between ideology and narratives. This study also presents efforts and challenges faced by district health officers in Peninsular Malaysia in their role as the health authority for mitigating the disease. Seventeen informants were selected from at-risk areas in three states with high cases of P. knowlesi in 2019 (Johor, Pahang, Kelantan) to be interviewed. Semi-structured interview questions were developed guided by the IBM framework. Three district health officers who were involved in malaria prevention efforts in the selected states were also interviewed. Qualitative data analysis using Atlas.ti 8 software was used to facilitate thematic coding. Five prevention behaviours were found to be prevalent among the informants and are hypothesised to be suited for behavioural improvement intervention among at-risk communities. The prevention behaviours identified are: consuming prophylaxis, wearing long sleeves, using bed nets, mosquito coils and insect repellent. Current efforts by health district officers for P. knowlesi malaria prevention include erecting warning signs, community education programmes, and empowering community influencers. Challenges faced by the health district officers include difficulty accessing remote locations, limited facilities, and military-specific issues. This study suggests that future prevention efforts focused on behavioural improvement among at-risk communities in Malaysia should concentrate on the five prevention efforts most prevalent among these communities. In particular, the program under investigation involves a collaboration between the community and the CSR division of Indaco Warna Dunia Company. Employing the sociology of communication analysis, this study aims to reveal the importance of new media platforms in disseminating environmental messages that resonate with the younger generation. In the current age of rapid communication and information exchange, new media has the potential to overcome the challenges posed by traditional channels and engage young people, who play a crucial role in driving social and environmental change. By leveraging new media, environmental messages can be effectively communicated to the youth, fostering a generation that is conscious of sustainable practices and environmental issues. To investigate the impact of new media on promoting green behaviour, this research utilised a single holistic case study methodology. The findings of this study indicate that social media, as a form of new media, can serve as a contemporary and effective means of disseminating environmental education. By utilising these platforms, green behaviour campaigns can reach a wider audience, inspire young people to adopt eco-friendly habits, and ultimately contribute to the development of environmentally-conscious communities through strategic CSR collaborations. In recent years, only limited Delphi studies have been conducted in the Malaysian context. Despite recognizing the influence of socio-cultural settings on the conduct of any research, empirical literature on the best and most suitable means to conduct Delphi studies within the Malaysian socio-cultural context has not grown in proportion to the evolution of Delphi method application in local social-science studies. This article establishes methodological considerations in employing the Delphi method by investigating issues relating to data source, instrument, data collection procedures and management in the implementation in designing and conducting a successful Delphi study in the Malaysian socio-cultural context. The reflection of Delphi method in identifying media literacy knowledge that is deemed to be important for inclusion in an introductory media literacy Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) will be explored. However, when the COVID-19 epidemic spread in the country and the Movement Control Order was enforced, schools began implementing teaching and learning methods at home through digital platforms. This method is antithetical to the practice of learning in a collegiate manner that has been practised by SZK since its inception. Therefore, issues such as the level of acceptance and effectiveness of teaching and learning via digital platforms have become a concern for many parties, especially teachers and pupils such as the communities at SZK who have been ingrained in the practice of talaqqi since time immemorial. Therefore, this study was conducted to identify the digitalisation patterns at SZK pertaining to the usage of digital platforms for the purpose of teaching and learning based on Social Cognitive Theory (SCT). The findings show that smartphones and laptops have the highest percentages of usage among teachers and students compared to tablets, desktop computers, television, mobile internet, home internet (Streamyx, Unifi), mobile broadband internet, ear/headphones, and web cameras in teaching and learning during PdPR. The findings also show that the usage of PdPR digital platforms is more intensive among teachers than pupils in SZK. PG is a symptom of Gaming Disorder (GD) that has been classified as a mental disorder by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the International Classification of Diseases 11th Revision (ICD-11). Despite the use of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) as a preventive measure in many countries, their effectiveness in increasing the awareness of PG in Asia, particularly in Malaysia is still questionable. The role of PSAs in preventing PG is a topic that deserves closer examination, open to debate and requires a more critical evaluation. The objective of this study is to identify diverse preventive measures employed to prevent PG in Asia, with a specific focus on determining whether PSA has been used or suggested based on empirical support to enhance awareness among Asian youth.
