Building on the economic mechanisms that drive investors’ decisions when they construct their portfolio, the study analyses a comprehensive global dataset that includes 13,674 firms and 58,406 funds from 23 countries for the period from 2008 to 2017. Multiple regression models (pooled and fixed effect) are implemented to explore this relationship. The results show that there is a negative relationship between mutual fund flow and corporate cash holdings which indicates the significant role corporate cash holding policies have on the mutual fund industry. This article contributes to the literature by adding a new factor that can explain mutual fund investors’ behaviour. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first study to examine the relationship between corporate cash holdings and mutual fund flow, and one of the few studies to examine the influence of corporate-level decisions on the mutual fund industry. The results could help fund managers to better forecast future fund flow by considering corporate-level policies, namely cash holdings.","PeriodicalId":44860,"journal":{"name":"Vision-The Journal of Business Perspective","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.8,"publicationDate":"2023-08-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75227303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this view, a technology acceptance model was applied with four additional constructs namely, social influence, job relevance, self-efficacy and perceived enjoyment. The responses were collected from 345 service sector employees. Keeping in view the proposed relationships, partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was employed. It is found that perceived usefulness is significantly influenced by social influence and job relevance. However, the perceived enjoyment did not find significant with perceived ease of use. The present study has implications for theory, managers and international human resource managers. The novel contribution of this study is that it integrates job relevance, self-efficacy, social influence and perceived enjoyment to measure the adoption intentions of HR analytics.","PeriodicalId":44860,"journal":{"name":"Vision-The Journal of Business Perspective","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.8,"publicationDate":"2023-08-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86471165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Regulators have often interfered in this market with the stated objective of controlling inflation. In this article, we examine the relationship between futures trading activity and spot price inflation in the agricultural commodity markets in India by analysing the relationship on the aggregate market level as well as on the individual markets of 12 commodities. We find that the trading volume of AGRIDEX futures contracts has a significant and positive impact on the Consumer Price Index in both the long run and short run. For individual commodities, we find that the futures volume has a significant and positive impact on the spot price in only four out of eleven commodities analysed. The evidence suggests that regulators should monitor the market closely but refrain from repeatedly using stringent measures, like banning trading.","PeriodicalId":44860,"journal":{"name":"Vision-The Journal of Business Perspective","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.8,"publicationDate":"2023-08-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85150938","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To provide recent evidence from a developing country context, specifically the Indian context, this article explores the relationship between discretionary expenses and the value of a firm. With the help of the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy prowess database for 680 Indian firms belonging to 41 industries over a 15-year period covering 5,171 firm years, we find that both R&D and Advertisement Expenditure have a positive effect on the market value of a firm. Our results suggest that the effect of R&D on the value of firms is more in smaller and younger firms when compared to large and mature firms, respectively. We also find that the return to R&D investment is more in non-manufacturing firms. Another aim is to understand the process of individual learning and ascertain the role of conceptual learning in the experiential learning process. This research is based on a qualitative research paradigm. It is an exploratory nature of the study. The unit of analysis is the process of experiential learning taking place in the medical discipline. The case study is used as a research methodology to establish an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon (experiential learning process) through subjective perspectives of informants’ lived experiences. For data collection, semi-structured interviews were conducted. Data are analysed through the grounded theory method. It is inferred that experiential learning creates individual adaptive competencies in terms of delivered competencies, strong decision-making abilities, enhance confidence level and problem-solving ability, expert learning, generative competencies, reinforcement of experiences, and professional grooming. These dimensions are validated through the subjective saturated shreds of evidence of informants. This study has importance for both academics and practitioners alike. For academics, it provides a conceptual storyline about how individuals learn based on their experiences then the integration of experiences leads towards experiential learning. For practitioners, it supports how academia and practical learning are integrated to enhance individual learning competencies. Practical exposure of experiences serves as the fundamental tool for learning new knowledge.","PeriodicalId":44860,"journal":{"name":"Vision-The Journal of Business Perspective","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.8,"publicationDate":"2023-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90535560","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data were collected from 386 investors using a structured questionnaire from Tamil Nadu, India. The findings showed that weather patterns positively impact the association between stock returns and investor sentiments. However, it was shown that the direct effects of stock returns on investor sentiments were found to be not significant. As a result, by enlightening the relationship between stock returns and investor sentiments in the context of the developing world, this research makes a valuable contribution to the literature on investor sentiments. Furthermore, from the finding of the study, the relationship between stock returns needs to consider the constructs such as price volatility and margin trading behaviour.","PeriodicalId":44860,"journal":{"name":"Vision-The Journal of Business Perspective","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.8,"publicationDate":"2023-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90360883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis focuses on a qualitative assessment of achievements in several key tourism aggregates from 2020 to 2021 and compares it with industry achievements in 2019. The assessment reveals that following the COVID-19 pandemic, by 2020, the shares of tourism output and export earnings plunged to 6.0% and 1.6%, respectively, in Australia. In New Zealand, tourism output and earnings contracted to 8.8% and 9.4%, respectively. The overall economic contractions in both countries were more severe in 2020–2021 than in 2019. It is anticipated that the contribution of tourism to national output, employment, export earnings and hotel occupancy rates will continue to remain subdued in 2022, with the likelihood of some degree of recovery in late 2022, assuming rapid progress in vaccinations against the COVID-19 disease. This study makes a new contribution to the tourism literature as the assessment presented here provides a comparative distinctive analysis of the effects of the pandemic in the local economy context of two neighbouring similar economies of Australia and New Zealand. Research has been deficient in providing this type of analysis despite the numerous studies addressing the effects of the pandemic across the tourism industry globally.","PeriodicalId":44860,"journal":{"name":"Vision-The Journal of Business Perspective","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.8,"publicationDate":"2023-07-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78016311","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For small- and medium-sized businesses, particularly in the handicraft sectors, it was exceptionally difficult to maintain operations during a global crisis. Without crisis management plans in place, business owners run the risk of having their operations abruptly terminated. Therefore, the researchers sought to comprehend and study the factors that led to the shutdown and departure strategies of micro-enterprises (in the handicraft sector) during the pandemic. In order to organize a focused study, an outline for the exploratory study was used, and enrolled micro and businesses in the Eastern region were specifically selected. According to the study’s findings, the majority of micro-enterprises were single-person businesses and had been in working for three and six years. As a result, the respondents’ most typical issues are training and retooling of crisis or pandemic-sensitive handicrafts such as famous business approaches for micro-enterprises owners, particularly in the handmade industry, as well as research into the negative effects of lockdown on the handicraft sector a part of micro small and medium enterprises are all examples of crisis-sensitive strategies for entrepreneurs with small businesses in the crafts sector.","PeriodicalId":44860,"journal":{"name":"Vision-The Journal of Business Perspective","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.8,"publicationDate":"2023-07-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72795729","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As in other countries, in Turkey, the lockdowns and social isolation measures have completely changed social and economic conditions. Entrepreneurship, which by definition involves risk, has become even more risky due to the serious economic and social consequences of the pandemic. This study aimed to explore university students’ perspectives of entrepreneurship and to gain an understanding about the entrepreneurial experience in this period. Using reflexive photography as a visual method to extract qualitative data, this study presents a humanistic portrait of entrepreneurship as seen through the eyes of young people during COVID-19 pandemic. The findings reveal six emergent themes regarding entrepreneurship, which are agile adaptation to new conditions, the changes in consumer preferences, the psychological responses, the rising number of women entrepreneurs, the adverse effects on the hospitality industry and the adaptation problems of traditional business owners. The current research provides an understanding of being an entrepreneur in Turkey during a global pandemic. The findings would contribute to educational institutions, entrepreneurs, managers and policy makers in their future efforts on designing agile policies, systems and structures that would show resilience to similar crises and educating capable entrepreneurs.","PeriodicalId":44860,"journal":{"name":"Vision-The Journal of Business Perspective","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.8,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82333401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Research on brand addiction has been very limited. Keeping this in view, the present study aims to investigate, if brand addiction can drive brand loyalty while driving other crucial managerial outcomes (i.e., positive word of mouth, resistance to negative information, willingness to pay premium and social media following). These relationships are examined using the perceptions of 306 Indian consumers. Structural equation modelling has been used for the analysis of the present study. The results confirm that brand loyalty mediates the relationship between brand addiction and other above-mentioned consequences positively. Further, the study also posits that ‘duration of use’ does not significantly moderate the above-mentioned relationships.","PeriodicalId":44860,"journal":{"name":"Vision-The Journal of Business Perspective","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.8,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84803359","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
