The proposed simple fuzzy logic controller, with nine rules, provides an optimal slope compensation to keep the system adequately remote from the first bifurcation point by means of reducing the current spectrum peak. In spite of nonlinear characteristics and instabilities of the converter, the performance of the closed-loop control system can be considerably improved to avoid bifurcation phenomena. In particular, common-source type active-clamped DC-DC converter is one of the most useful circuit topology for reduction of common-mode noise. Furthermore, in low-voltage and large-current DC-DC converters, synchronous rectifier circuits are used to improve the power efficiency. Self-driven synchronous rectifier circuits are generally used because of isolation and easy control. Recently, it has been noticed that an abnormal phenomenon occurs under some conditions in the common-source type forward converter with self-driven synchronous rectifier circuit. Unlike other modern networked systems, the grid lacks intelligence and automation. This paper has presented a new look at the way a Smart Grid can be implemented. The conventional approach has been to first obtain real time information on critical parameters, and then by controlling VAR resources, tap changers, and FACTS devices to achieve the desired control. A simpler approach is presented here based on using highly interconnected meshed networks. Such networks have been used in high density urban areas for many years for the high reliability achievable, but suffer from poor line utilization and lack of flexibility under contingency or load growth conditions. The use of a large number of current limiting conductor or CLiC modules provides a simple and cost-effective approach for realizing a controllable meshed network, maximizing network capacity under diverse contingencies and load growth scenarios. Using a low-tech approach, it is seen that basic network performance and reliability are dramatically increased. The compensation capability of a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) depends primarily on the maximum voltage injection ability and the amount of stored energy available within the restorer. In this paper a simple structure feed forward neural network is presented for the separate of negative sequence components from fundamental sequence components in unbalance voltage sag. In addition, the strategies of correcting the supply voltage sag in a distribution feeder are presented. In this paper a new control strategy based adaptive neural network is proposed to inject minimum energy for DVR during compensation. Reactive power compensation or control is an important part of a power system to minimize power transmission losses. Given a modulation index, the switch times can be chosen to achieve the fundamental while eliminating specific harmonics. However, the resulting total harmonic distortion (THD) depends on the modulation index. This work considers the control of the DC capacitor voltage in such a way that one can operate at the modulation index which results in the minimum THD. The concrete device connection scheme and line power regulation characteristic of this method are obtained by analyzing the controlled reactance characteristic and adjustable principle of thyristor controlled reactance by adjustable coupling. This paper analyzes not only the regularity of the concrete device's steady state current, voltage and the needed capacity with the variation of parameters but also the transient characteristic in the course of switching on/off the thyristors, on the basis of which the optimal switching controlling is obtained. A great deal of calculation data indicates that this method has good power regulation characteristic and transient characteristic. Compared with thyristor controlled series capacitor (TCSC), the total capacity of the concrete device can be considerably reduced if this method is used to regulate power flow. The result of the basic experiments proves the correctness of its theoretical analysis.
