Automatic Text Summarization techniques aim to extract the fundamental information in documents. Making automatic summarization work in portable devices is a challenge, in several aspects. This paper presents an automatic summarization application for Android devices. The proposed solution is a multi-feature language independent summarization application targeted at news articles. In Mexico, 72% of the employment of the country and 52% of the GDP comes from SMEs. The importance of keeping alive and working such entities is crucial for the country and one key element is related to their first years. The following work presents a work in progress expert system for Risk Assessment based on a series of evaluations of indicators that provide an insight of the SMEs economic health. There are several algorithms that allow us to find a solution to the bivariate problems. However, the true challenge arises when the number of independent variables is large. Relatively new tools have been developed to tackle this kind of problems. Thus, multi-Layer Perceptron networks (MLPs) may be seen as multivariate approximation algorithms. However, a commonly cited disadvantage of MLPs is that they remain a \"black-box\" kind of method: they do not yield an explicit closed expression to the solution. Rather, we are left with the need of expressing it via the architecture of the MLP and the value of the trained connections. In this paper we explore three methods that allow us to express the solution to multivariate problems in a closed form: a) Fast Ascent (FA), b) Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) and c) Powell's Dog-Leg (PM) algorithms. These yield closed expressions when presented with multiple independent variable problems. We use the entropy generation minimization criterion to model the heat transfer process, and the spiral algorithm to solve it. For the scenarios we considered, optimum heat sinks using environmentally friendly ammonia (azane) performed about 17% better than those using air. There are many efforts trying to provide an independent life for the elderly people. Fall event is one of the main problems that affect people in this age group. In order to provide a comfortable solution of this problem for elderly people, this paper presents an implementation of falls detection in mobile phones based on ANNs, because many smartphones have accelerometers inside them and they are not so inconvenient for elder to carry it. Besides, this work contains a performance comparison among three types of ANN (Multilayers Perceptron, Radial Basis Function and Kohonen ANN). It is also shown the process of falls database creation used in this study, obtained from acceleration signals of a mobile phone running Android operating system. The Mizo Language is the official language of the Mizoram state of India. The Mizo language is also known as Lushai language. The Mizo language belongs to the Kukish branch of the Sino-Tibetan language family. The paper describes the development of a Mizo-to-English dictionary and a part-of-speech tagger. In our Mizo-to-English dictionary, we have collected 26,407 entries, both automatically and manually. We started from studying the Mizo parts of speech and generated the POS tag list. For POS tagging of the Mizo Language, we built a 24-item tag set. This paper describes an approach to automate the creation of speech recognition systems for under-resourced languages. The aim is to simplify and speed up this process via providing the necessary tools and organizing the process of systems' development and testing. Nowadays, many channel assignment schemes are presented in order to increase the functionality of wireless networks. However most of the existing schemes aim interfering links on the target link in a level and it decreases network functionality dramatically. A new scheme will be provided in this research for channel assignment based on clustering according to categorizing whose difference with other methods lie where it separates interfering links and categorizes it. Due to some reasons such as lack of knowledge about a method based on which the best classifier is detected for any arbitrary problem, and thanks to significant improvement in accuracy, researchers turn to ensemble methods in almost every task of pattern recognition. Classification as a major task in pattern recognition, have been subject to this transition. The classifier ensemble which uses a number of base classifiers is considered as meta-classifier to learn any classification problem in pattern recognition. Although some researchers think they are better than single classifiers, they will not be better if some conditions are not met. The most important condition among them is diversity of base classifiers. Generally in design of multiple classifier systems, the more diverse the results of the classifiers, the more appropriate the aggregated result. It has been shown that the necessary diversity for the ensemble can be achieved by manipulation of dataset features, manipulation of data points in dataset, different sub-samplings of dataset, and usage of different classification algorithms. We also propose a new method of creating this diversity. We use Linear Discriminante Analysis to manipulate the data points in dataset.
