A reinforcement learning approach was performed by the agents, however, this type of learning exploits exponentially when the number of states in the environment is very large. In that sense, the paper proposes to use the MaxQ-Q hierarchical reinforcement learning algorithm to obtain a suitable policy for agents in order to minimize the time process to achieve the goal, and to reduce the state space. In addition, since the multi-agent system runs in a software application, a multi-threading paradigm was proposed to use. Experimental results show that this multi-agent system can reduce the time process and still maintain independence of agents.","PeriodicalId":448255,"journal":{"name":"2015 Fourteenth Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (MICAI)","volume":"128 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131462087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This problem is a famous game known as Sudoku puzzle and it consists in filling a n2 × n2 grid, composed by n columns, n rows and n sub-grids, each one containing different digits from 1 to n2. In this paper, we propose an exact algorithm based on Hall's marriage theorem in order to solve it. After applied our proposed method, we have noticed that some instances with particular features are possible to solve. The algorithm is quite simple to code it and good results are reached solving some instances. The unresolved ones as result of the application of the algorithm is generated an equivalent problem to the original one, but more easiest to solve. We illustrate the experimental evaluation comparing with another complete methods.","PeriodicalId":448255,"journal":{"name":"2015 Fourteenth Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (MICAI)","volume":"10 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120821032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the mass introduction of Electric Vehicles (EVs) the opportunity for DR programs can grow even more. This paper concentrates on a specific type of DR, namely evaluating different scenarios with respect to end-user EVs tariffs. The effects of different tariffs are compared in several scenarios in terms of the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) operation costs and also the EVs' perspective, i.e. considering the optimal use of end-user contracts. To solve the Mixed Integer Non-Linear Problem (MINLP) a modernized optimization approach is used by combining a deterministic method in the first stage, relaxing the problem to a Mixed Integer Linear Problem (MILP) with the use of a computational intelligence method in the second stage, namely Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The case study presents different price scenarios, namely, singletariff, bi-tariff, tri-tariff, tetra-tariff, and Real-Time Pricing (RTP). The network used for this application is a 33-bus distribution network with high penetration of renewables and a fleet of 30 electric buses.","PeriodicalId":448255,"journal":{"name":"2015 Fourteenth Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (MICAI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130135938","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The non-technical losses are related with energy delivered but whose cost is not recovered. Several attempts have made to minimize this problem, however the problem has persisted. The application of data mining algorithms to commercial and technical databases allows us to have patterns of energy consumption which related with the social, economic and demographic information allows knowing the phenomena behind the losses of energy. The patterns will be useful to design a Bayesian model to predict losses of energy. The Bayesian model we are designing includes a wide spectrum of parameters and relationships which allows using minimal evidence to detect potential and early losses. Since there is a huge amount of data and sometimes it is incomplete, irrelevant or missing, we have evaluated several algorithms to prepare data and for select relevant data. In this paper, the framework and current results are presented.","PeriodicalId":448255,"journal":{"name":"2015 Fourteenth Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (MICAI)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131058512","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two types of classes are dealt with: class A where processing is based on single pixel operations and class B where output is based on neighborhood pixel values, which is dedicated to convolution operations. Partitioning an image into sub-images to process it using multiple threads is not as simple as it looks. One issue is of information loss, which occurs during partition, especially at boundary pixels. Calculation of optimal size of sub-images is another issue. Whereas, writing code for gaining maximum performance via multi-threading is also cumbersome. In this paper, issue of how loss affects the speed of output with limited or desired number of resources is tackled. The aim is to reduce the information loss and improve performance. A generic multi-threaded API, to handle different image operations, is tested on images of different sizes and performance is compared with single-threaded approach. Experimental results demonstrate better execution time without data loss.","PeriodicalId":448255,"journal":{"name":"2015 Fourteenth Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (MICAI)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115472362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In these systems, trust and reputation mechanisms are used to choose partners in order to delegate tasks. Most of the trust and reputation models proposed in the literature take into account their functional aspects, but not how they affect the reasoning cycle of the agent. That is, under the agent's perspective, a trust model is usually just a \"black box\". In this paper we propose a model definition in which trust processes are part of the agents' reasoning cycle, influencing and being influenced by the emotions of the agent. Among all the classification algorithms available are those based on human comprehensible representations, such as decision trees and classification rule induction. These algorithms are usually chosen by the clarity of the results obtained and the interpretability of its models. In this paper, we evaluated the six most used algorithms based on human comprehension. We conducted experiments with 28 datasets often used in the literature in different ways: using default parameters, using ExpDB parameters and using a tool based in genetic algorithm to find the best parameter combination. The results obtained have shown the strategy of combining the data from ExpDB via GA is effective in finding classification models with good accuracy.","PeriodicalId":448255,"journal":{"name":"2015 Fourteenth Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (MICAI)","volume":"160 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122861870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
