Despite the fact that Russia can boast a great tradition of children’s literature in verse, the number of existing Italian translations is not very large and the authors translated are only some happy few. They are Vladimir Mayakovskiy, Osip Mandel’shtam, Boris Pasternak, Korney Chukovskiy and Samuil Marshak. Their not very many texts have mostly appeared for little publishers with scarce circulation. Attention to formal aspects has also not always been impeccable, and no Italian poet has systematically devoted himself to elaborate Italian versions that could aspire to true aesthetic autonomy. The author of the article analyzes the novella by the Russian writer Nina Dashevskaya Timofey: Bloknot (“Timofey: Notepad”) (2020), as well as the novels Privet, volki! (“Czesc, Wilki!”) (2014) by the Polish writer Dorota Kasjanovic and Kak ya nechayanno napisala knigu (“Hoe ik per ongeluk een boek schreef”) (2014) by the Dutch writer Annette Heising, which were translated into Russian in 2018 and 2021. The main characters in these books are teenagers who are somehow engaged in literary composition and try their hand at writing. Each author offers a different concept of children’s literary creation. What they have in common is their attitude to creative writing as a cultural and therapeutic practice and a way of getting to know the world. This article analyzes techniques for the representation of creative writing in the work for teenagers, suggests techniques for interpreting the “message” to a young reader about what is literary creativity, what place it has in the social environment, what role it can play in a person’s life, in the development of his independence. I argue that this social group with a prominent social capital has impacted children’s picturebooks in English-speaking societies in many ways. First, choice mums need literature that could help them to discuss the structure of their family and principal concepts of single motherhood by choice. Second, children’s literature with such content allows monoparental families to become symbolically visible to other members of society and thereby strengthen their position. Single mothers by choice are determined to contribute with their own art individually or as a member of a larger network. Self-publishing industry and ubiquitous online consumption support both professional and amateur creativity which become available to a wide readership through internet online sellers. International publishing houses respond to the demand for diversity in children’s picture- books. The authors, however, took a step away from the traditionally informational review of the conference’s scientific and methodologic tracks, and, based on the material of the presentations and on the lectures and panel discussions that were all carried out during the conference, they provide their answer for the following question: what are the conditions under which certain texts, that are addressed to children/teenagers, are “transforming” into a single field of children’s literature. The description of what was taking place at the conference becomes a fixation of how all involved subjects of various “event” reader communications and practices (authors, publishers, researchers, teachers, and librarians) are united by them. It is also fixating the process of how the reader content created by those subjects is changing both the structure and constitution of children’s literature. Indeed, the first Krylov’s fables in Italian language had been published in Paris in 1825, but in Italy they were unsuccessful: overall there was little interest in Russian literature and language. Only in the beginning of the following century, when Russian literature, language and culture has already become familiar to most Italian scholars and readers, have Krylov’s fables gained considerable popularity in Italy. As Krylov’s fame in Italy in 20 th century is a relatively little–studied topic, this work briefly presents a list of the Italian versions of Krylov’s fables published in that period. The children’s literary competition was an important part of the mass work of the Department of Art Education of the Novosibirsk Palace of Pioneers in 1950s-1970s. Its work is thoroughly documented in the annual formal reports of the Palace of Pioneers, which are stored in the Novosibirsk City Archives (NSA) in fund 143 of the Municipal educational institution of additional education for children of Novosibirsk “Palace of creativity of children and students of youth ‘Junior’”. Based on the documents from the archives, the article presents the organizational structure of the competition, the compositions of participants, organizers, the sequence of the competition, instructions for creative contests. The article contains biographies of the contest participants and their future fates in the field of literature and journalism, as well as biographies of the contest organizers and jurors. P. Privalova and previously never published. The year the text was written, 1975, was established presumably based on the date on the folder in which the other works of the author were kept. The article provides brief background information on the author of the article — researcher of the history of Russian children’s literature, E. P. Privalova; it gives a review of the contents of the folder with archival files — articles about A. L. Schlözer and I. A. Teils, published in different years in the “XVIII vek” (18 th century) collections. The article by E. P. Privalova is dedicated to the study of a novel by M. Gladkova “15-ti dnevnoe puteshestvie, 15-tiletneyu pisannoe, v ugozhdenie roditelyu i posvyashchaemoe 15-ti letnemu drugu. 1810-go goda avgusta mesyatsa” (A 15-day journey, written by a 15-year-old girl, to please her parent and dedicated to her 15-year-old friend. 1810th year of August) (St. Petersburg, 1810). The introduction analyzes the main theses of E. P. Privalova’s article — the alleged authorship of M. Gladkova and literary connections of her text with such works as “Pis’ma russkogo puteshestvennika” (Letters of the Russian Traveler) by N. M. Karamzin and “Puteshestvie iz Peterburga v Moskvu” (Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow) by A. N. Mention is made of articles by Japanese specialists in children’s art education published in the journal Detskaya literatura (“Children’s Literature”). The main body of publications is identified; letters, stories and poems are cited, drawings and engravings are described. The materials are covered in chronological order and considered in the context of Soviet-Japanese relations. Their themes are compared with the image of Japan that was relevant in the USSR in the corresponding period. The material makes it possible to trace how the ideological factor influenced the formation of the image of Japan in Soviet periodicals for children. During Thaw, the letters contain elements of the image of Japan that are inherent in the official Soviet Cold War discourse: social problems after World War II, remilitarization, US military aggression, the tragedy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, anti-nuclear and anti-American struggle, Japanese national identity.
