The data is collected through observation, interview and document. This study shows the concept of the panca jiwa includes sincerity, self-awareness, simplicity, exemplary, compassion. Panca Jiwa has been rule of values in the daily activities of pesantren. However, the implementation of Panca Jiwa has not been maximized at the Pesantren Agro Nur El Falah Salatiga. Several factors inhibiting the implementation of the Five Souls include the lack of cooperation between teachers, the lack of activities that can make students become family to each other, damaged infrastructure and also their personalities at home. Therefore, teachers and senior students must set an example and be more diligent in directing, guiding, educating and supervising students to achieve the desired goals in accordance with the vision and mission of the pesantren.","PeriodicalId":444894,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Religion and Society","volume":"129 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131702665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study is a case study with a qualitative descriptive method at the Panti Sosial Karya Wanita Andam Dewi Solok. Data was collected using in-depth interview techniques. Using Max Weber's rationality theory as an analytical tool, this study found several important findings. First, the choice to enter the world of prostitution is a rational action taken by prostitutes. The act of prostitution that is carried out is an action that is goal-oriented (instrumentally rational). Actions of prostitution are rationally strived to gain utility, either to show \"himself\" as a woman or as a person who is responsible in his family. Second, for prostitutes, between prostitution and religion, both are profitable. Prostitution can empower families and improve the economic sector, while religion can reduce and eliminate the sin of prostitution. Religion is not only interpreted as a doctrine that only regulates ritual aspects such as prayer, fasting and all kinds of things, but more than that religion is interpreted as an antidote for any sexual act committed in prostitution.","PeriodicalId":444894,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Religion and Society","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115585847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research uses a content analysis approach. The result of study found several types that can be categorized as hatespeech, namely in the form of satire/sarcasm, hoaxs, cursing, distortion, insults, and negative criticism. The orientation that used in political moments is related to religion with regard to religious ideology. The term religion is used as a ripertoir for mobilizing, and the issue of ethnic, religion, race and groups (SARA) is used as a means of emphasizing political opponents. This study concludes that the current trend of political contestation is intertwined with the increasing politics of identity, religion and hatespeech as a form of democracy without morals. ","PeriodicalId":444894,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Religion and Society","volume":"245 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131728204","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These religions are known as “Penghayat Kepercayaan”. In history, the adherents of these beliefs experienced hardship dynamics to gain recognition from the State. The methodology that has been used for this research is a normative juridical or documentary study with qualitative analysis. The result and discussions of this research concluded that Article 28E of the 1945’s Constitution guaranteed everyone to have the right of freedom to believe. However, the reality is the opposite as the State is discriminating between the officials and the unofficial religions. Because of the long struggles of the stakeholders, the community of Penghayat Kepercayaan has pleaded to the Constitutional Court (MK) for a judicial review, and it was accepted. MK has stated that discrimination between the official and the unofficial religions is a contradiction to the 1945’s Constitution. Based on the decision of MK, the State recognizes the community of Penghayat Kepercayaan, especially for all the matters related to their rights for civil administration (where now, there is a “belief” column for them, in the Family Card and electronic ID), and their rights to embrace and worship.","PeriodicalId":444894,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Religion and Society","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129363305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. This study uses thematic analysis, which aims to identify patterns and determine themes. Data collected using interviews and documentation. The results of the study found that there were four challenges in making regional regulations for the establishment of customary villages: first, the drafting period for the determination of customary villages was carried out in a short period. Second, not prioritizing socialization. Third, local wisdom is considered less critical for the sub-district government. Fourth, there is no follow-up from the local government to establish local regulations. The results of this study have implications for the miscommunication of local governments in understanding the village law no. 6/2014. As a result, local governments have not fully rearticulated the village law regarding the establishment of customary villages.","PeriodicalId":444894,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Religion and Society","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133965604","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This reseach conducted qualitatively through observation, deep interview and document study to collect desired data. The result of study showed that in terms of commodity price, the farmers were dependant to merchant decision, and in fact they sometimes suffered losses. Moreover, the chilli farmers especially the sharecroppers sold their product to merchants because they had been their old clients. This relation was maintained because the farmers and the sharecroppers usually depended on them in running their farming business. Furthermore, the authority relation formed between the parties was also influenced by factors of culture, farmer’s helplessness, and market situation.","PeriodicalId":444894,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Religion and Society","volume":"262 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121484486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to examine the internal conflicts of Tablighi Jamaat. This study focuses on looking the background and the dynamic of conflict that occur in the internal of Jamaah Tabligh. This study uses qualitative methods and conflict triangle theory developed by Johan Galtung. The findings of study indicate the conflict is caused by the problem of leadership or determination of amir. This leadership conflict made the Tabligh Jamaah split into two groups namely the Syuro Alami group and Nizamuddin. The Natural Syuro group made the Muhammadan Mosque in Pondok, Padang as headquarters, while the Nizamuddin group made the Madinatul Munawarah Mosque in the city of Padang as headquarters. At present what happens between the two groups is throwing accusations at each other and berating each other.The conflict caused mutual accusations and verbal abuse between the two groups.","PeriodicalId":444894,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Religion and Society","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129546858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a region that has local regulations on the protection of persons with disabilities, DKI Jakarta government has not yet been able to ensure the fulfillment of the education rights of children with intellectual disabilities. This study used a single instrumental case study approach and was carried out in DKI Jakarta. Data collection is done through in-depth interviews and textual analysis. The results show that social exclusion occurs because of cultural barriers due to stigma, labeling, prejudice, stereotypes, and structural barriers due to discriminatory policies. Both of barriers can be reduced by organizing inclusive education for persons with intellectual disabilities. The model for implementing inclusive education developed not only focuses on developing the life skills of individuals with intellectual disabilities, but also strengthening and developing the surrounding environment and society. Thus, children with intellectual disabilities can be independent and participate in society.","PeriodicalId":444894,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Religion and Society","volume":"167 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115786600","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research data collection was carried out by survey and in-depth interviews with the academic community of UIN Imam Bonjol. This study found that, first the understanding of the academic community of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang about cleanliness was quite good at the individual level originating from the hadith about cleanliness, both in text and in substance. Second, in maintaining cleanliness, UIN academics are influenced by the lack of available hygiene facilities and infrastructure and the absence of regulation. Third, there is an asymmetrical relationship between the knowledge of the UIN academic community about environmental hygiene and practice because the understanding of environmental hygiene is still in the domestic area and is private in nature, not yet entering the public space.","PeriodicalId":444894,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Religion and Society","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121111399","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
