The onset of the disease varies depending on the etiology. Meningoencephalitis causes fever, headaches, meningitis, changes in mental status, and/or seizures. Meningoencephalitis is diagnosed on an individual basis, with laboratory and imaging tests to back it up. Objective: The study's goal was to determine the clinical profile of adult meningoencephalitis patients admitted to Semarang's Dr. Kariadi Hospital's Intensive Care Unit. Method: The clinical profile includes clinical manifestations, laboratory examination results, and imaging. Results and discussion: There were 8 adult meningoencephalitis patients; women were more than men (63%); age groups that had the same high incidence (25%) were 17-25 years, 26-35 years, and 36-45 years; all patients presented with decreased consciousness (GCS ≤13); the most common clinical manifestations of meningoencephalitis are headache (100%), neck stiffness (87.5%), lateralization (75%), fever (62.5%); most of the patients (62%) had a lumbar puncture, with clear/colorless results (100%), high protein levels (80%), decreased glucose levels (60%), PMN cell pleocytosis (60%), MN cell pleocytosis ( 20%), there was no pleocytosis (20%); 75% of patients had a CT scan of the head, with half the imaging results supporting the picture of infection (50%). Conclusions: Meningoencephalitis patients mostly are women and young adults. Unconsciousness, headache were clinical manifestations that all patients experienced. The CSF examination results showed that bacteria became the first etiology. A Head CT scan did not always show an appearance of infection.","PeriodicalId":444691,"journal":{"name":"CoMPHI Journal: Community Medicine and Public Health of Indonesia Journal","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126951106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Workers at this industrial location were constantly exposed to production dust, which could be harmful to their health. The emergence of lung disorders is one of these health issues. Objective: This research aimed to see how the length of service affected the lung health of workers in precast concrete plants. Method: An analytic-observational study with a cross-sectional approach is used in this research method. The information was gathered from 160 employees at an Indonesian precast concrete company. All information was collected by filling out questionnaires and performing a spirometry test to see if there were any lung health issues. Results and discussion: According to the findings, respondents ranged in age from 19 to 58 years old. All respondents were divided into two groups based on their years of service: those with less than ten years of service (97.9%) and those with more than ten years (39.7%). As many as 57 workers aged over ten years had normal FEV1.0/FVC results. Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between the length of service and the lung health of concrete workers (p-value = 0.648). A thorough analysis is needed to determine other factors related to the lung health of construction workers, according to the researchers' recommendations for further research.","PeriodicalId":444691,"journal":{"name":"CoMPHI Journal: Community Medicine and Public Health of Indonesia Journal","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126331427","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are various ways that the government has taken to deal with COVID-19 in Indonesia, including urging its citizens to stay at home, promoting wearing masks and washing hands when doing activities outside the home, closing all access that can lead to crowds, changing the education system, employment, etc. as well as online learning, and the last is a vaccination program to reduce the symptoms of COVID-19 if infected. The vaccination is expected to reduce morbidity and mortality from COVID-19, achieve herd immunity to prevent transmission and protect public health. Seeing from the description that has been described above, the researchers are interested in conducting research related to the relationship between symptoms of COVID-19 disease and vaccination status in centrally isolated patients at the Gayaman Public Health Center, Mojokerto Regency. This research is an analytic observational study using a cross sectional research design. The data analysis used in this research is Chi-Square. From the results of the Chi Square test and the contingency coefficient, a p-value of 0.342 (> 0.05) is obtained, so it can be interpreted that there is no relationship between symptoms of Covid-19 disease and vaccination status in centralized isolated patients at the Gayaman Health Center.","PeriodicalId":444691,"journal":{"name":"CoMPHI Journal: Community Medicine and Public Health of Indonesia Journal","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126835162","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The infection can be transmitted either vertically or horizontally. Objective: This case report aims to determine congenital infections that can occur in children during pregnancy. Method: This study is a case report that applies a descriptive observational method about a 2.5-month-old boy being treated at Dr. Kariadi Semarang with a diagnosis of cholestasis, cytomegalovirus, normochromic microcytic anemia. Data was obtained from primary and secondary sources. Results and discussion: This case report explains that transmission of CMV infection can occur from mother to fetus during pregnancy, thus causing congenital infection. This infection becomes a chronic infection in children, thus affecting Hb levels in the blood and causing anemia. Examination of bilirubin, liver enzymes, and ultrasound of the abdomen confirmed the diagnosis of cholestasis. A head CT scan and ABR test are important for long-term monitoring.
