The information boom and hegemony of social networks have demonstrated the risks of hybrid wars, the power of \"flexible power\" of images and active communities. Journalism acts as an information catalyst for conflicts, exposing existing social contradictions at the micro, meso and macro levels of the social structure. That is why the responsibility of the media extends far beyond the objective coverage of information and contains a certain choice, which has also an ethical dimension. The article focuses on the ethical issues of the role of journalism in conflict, the ability of journalists to reduce the risk of violence in a conflict-ridden environment, and to increase efficiency in finding alternative solutions to conflict resolution. It raises the question of the constructive and destructive consequences of the conflict, as well as discusses the issues of the stage of the conflict, at which journalistic interventions are possible. The main thesis of the article relates to the principles of conflict-sensitive journalism, how idealistic they are and what organizations are interested in developing and promotion of the peace-building journalism.The analysis of various sources raises the question of the responsibility of journalists for choosing a particular model of journalistic practice during a conflict: from the objective and neutral position of the observer to active intervention as advocacy for peace and peace-building. The final conclusion is whichever path is chosen, finally we are facing the consequences of journalistic activity, the questions of moral choice and responsibility for a certain worldview. Coverage of criminal issues in the Ukrainian information space is characterized by fragmentation and discreteness. This means that the focus of attention of journalists is on concrete facts of reality, which are presented out of context and do not form a holistic, full-fledged, voluminous view of the problem of crime. The study focuses on journalistic strategies for representing the stories of victims of crime. Based on the results of the analysis of the stories selected for the study, it became obvious that the priority for journalists is: to demonstrate (and leave in the epicenter of attention) stories that have already acquired resonance in society, or to submit stories that can attract the attention of the audience, which can contribute to an increase in the rating of specific mass media (in particular, thanks to the emphasis on the exclusivity of information).\u0000It has been determined that journalists are not sensitive to the problem of crime, and even more so to the traumatic experience of a specific person — a victim. For journalists, the main challenge is to create a resonant story that can generate interest from the audience. The narrative of material in a story depends on the journalistic strategy: «to shock» or «to amaze». The strategy «to shock» is to detail / naturalize the essence of the crime, to demonstrate the chronicle of the commission of criminal acts against the victim. The peculiarities of the formation of the image of the \"Other\" in the travel media text in the context of studying the evolution of the trichotomy \"one's-someone else's\" are studied. The author reviews world and Ukrainian scientific thought, outlines the main stages of the evolution of the dichotomy of \"one's own and others\" in travel discourse and the factors influencing the formation of the image of other countries and worlds. The article determines the state of study of the peculiarities of the representation of another in travel media text and outlines promising areas of research. This issue is actively researched in the foreign scientific space (B. Cocking, E. Kavoori, C. Santos, E. Fursich), we record a number of interesting and thorough investigations in the Ukrainian understanding of travel discourse (Y. Polezhaev, O. Yufereva). American researchers have proposed two stages in the development of travel journalism in the context of tourism: modern and postmodern, which outlines the evolution of the dichotomy of \"self-alien\" from the apologetic image of \"self\" and contrasting \"other\" to effort to understand the \"other\", to join his experience. Within the framework of the outlined tendencies of forming the image of the “other” in travel discourse, scholars record the marginalization of the “other” caused by focusing on the journalist more than at the destination; the cyclical nature of cultural representations of the \"other\", which can be traced in copies of the oriental discourse of travelers of the XIX century; stereotyping of the image of \"others\" is caused by the exclusion of local voices; the stereotypical image of Third World countries focuses on the negative aspects or risks for tourists, which emphasizes how good the home is; providing the expected representations of the \"other\", which serves as a confirmation of the audience's own values and beliefs and is the basis of marketing strategies. The formation of the image of the \"Other\" in travel discourse has its own characteristics and is caused by the following factors: modern world geopolitical trends, the historical context of interaction of peoples and cultures, the tendency to glocalization and marketing technologies. We consider the analysis of nationally marked language units as an element of the linguistic picture of the world to be a promising area of research in the formation of the image of the \"Other\" in travel discourse. Conspiracy theory — a model of manipulative communication, designed to deny the prevailing view of a particular phenomenon, process or figure. The nature of the emergence and spread of conspiracy concepts in modern mass communication discourse is shown. In particular, the connection between conspiracy theory and cognitive dissonance, information invasion and propaganda has been established. One of the most active and determined adherents of this conspiracy is the American blogger, media consultant, former journalist Olena Nikitska. On the example of hers conspiracy videos on her YouTube channel, the key arguments of the aforementioned conspiracy theory are shown, as well as manipulative techniques for its announcement. In this video, the position of the conspiracy theorist is based on three statements: 1) There are not so many patients with Covid-19, and the statistics are greatly overestimated. 2) 5G towers are harmful, and this is proven by experts. 3) Those who will not be vaccinated will be severely restricted. Among such techniques, the author analyzed: cutting a multimedia message in the right place, shifting emphasis in discourse, categorically stating assumptions, whipping up irrational (religious) fear. Those, who are nearby: Memoirs of Contemporaries”, the nature of memoirs as a component of documentary literature was comprehended. The peculiarities of the chronotope from an angle on the composition of the collection, the specifics of the genre, the object of the image in memoirs, the author’s position were revealed and analyzed, and subject, that was investigated, is interpreted in context of paradigm with culturological, historical and literary approaches.It is established that it is the chronotope (according to M. Bakhtin) that helps to reveal the “spirit and concept of time”, “time of culture” in memoirs (M. Kogan) through worldviews and cultural values and positions of the generation, social sentiments, the system of images, we can defy the memoir as an internal and external dialogue between the author and the characters, author and reader, author and him or herself, author and era, author and future. The specifics of memoirs from the point of view of cultural communication are outlined, as well as social memory of the generation of the sixties and dissidents and their dialogue with modern consciousness.Thus, in V. Shevchuk’s memoirs there is a combination of several times, several generations of writers, cultural figures, critics, readers. The memoirist pays especial attention to readers first of all of younger generation, which has no idea of the historical vicissitudes of the time, so the author handles cultural dialogue with the generation and even represents imaginary future in memoirs, what is not inherent. The past and present time of the author and staff gives an idea not only about personalities, but also documents the literary process of the 1960s and 1970-1980 in Ukraine and the era as a whole, the cultural rise. Here individual time and space are intertwined with the public, the general. With retrospectives the author combines several time intervals: author’s, individual and public space. Retrospective also becomes plot and compositional outline of the text. The regional press formed the public opinion of the South of Ukraine. The main problems that were raised on the pages of the periodicals were identified. The main areas of reflection of life abroad were assessments of internal, economic and foreign policy development of countries. The main problems that were raised in the materials about the United States on the pages of the then editions of Odesa are identified. It is shown that the study of publications on the origins of racism and discrimination in a civilized society is one of the most important tasks today. The publications of the South of Ukraine themselves are an important historical source according to the existing ideas of the region's population about the development of the United States. The Odesa newspapers published various news about everyday life of the population abroad. The article indicates that it was difficult for journalists of that time to objectively present information through the political situation. Despite the conditions in which the journalists had to work, they objectively wrote about the struggle of African Americans for rights and freedoms. The use of politically incorrect words and expressions was revealed, but for that time it was the norm. The article explores the materials of the Odesa press of the second half of the 19th century as the main source of foreign news in the South of Ukraine. In the period under review, the importance of periodicals in the social, political and cultural life of Ukraine was extremely important. The relevance of this study is confirmed by the fact that in the last decade of the 20th century, the idea of “Europe” has taken on characteristics of a media-concept and a mental prototype of the future, which has taken a leading role in Ukrainian media discourse.\u0000The source of materials for this study became publications of “Ukrainian Youth”, “The Voice of Ukraine”, “Day”, “Mirror of the Week”, “Veche”, and others, which are presented in electronic corpuses of Ukrainian texts GRAK and MovaInfo (years 2012–2020). The total amount of analyzed lexical units is 101 (50 lexemes from the corpus MovaInfo and 51 lexemes from the corpus GRAK). The concept of Europe is a culturally-generalized, value-heavy entity, a deep, abstract category, which for a long time built its own multidimensional spheres of concepts. At the same time, the concept of Europe is a national, specific fragment of the nation’s worldview. Analysis of metaphorical models, which found their place in Ukrainian mass media, showed that systematic, multidimensional dismantling of the concept of Europe is happening gradually, which is leading to the loss of a stable, geographical definition of the referential space of the lexeme. As a result, this leads to correlating changes in its semantic structure. For the designation of the named concept, the following conceptual metaphors are predominantly used: fort, babushka, mentor, dream, spirit, supermarket, road, and others, predominantly with positive connotation. The inspected material displays that the past decade of the 20th century significantly gave relevance to the concept of Europe, declaring it as an important, modern ideologeme, like a mental prototype of Ukraine’s future. Given this, researching the modern Ukrainian mass media language, especially newspapers language, gained extra significance today. Studying the influential aspect of utilizing the newspaper headers has just begun, which emphasizes the relevance of the research.The article examines the specifics of the media headline as an important communicative unit, as well as analyzes the traditional and modern views of scientists on the properties and functions of the media title. Based on the achievements of neurolinguistic programming, the mechanism of influence (suggestion) at the level of the newspaper headline is revealed, in particular, the emphasis is on the three stages of the suggestion.
