Although parents use different parenting styles in their child's upbringing, the results showed that there is a statistically significant difference between parents in applying a particular upbringing style. By regression analysis, we came to the understanding that the form of a congruent upbringing style has the most favourable influence on the development of cognitive and emotional involvement in teaching. The form of neglecting upbringing style stood out as the strongest negative predictor of students' cognitive and social involvement in teaching, while the abusive upbringing style stood out as the strongest negative predictor of emotional involvement. When we consider changeable styles as the strongest determinants of (cognitive, emotional and social) involvement in teaching, the form of overprotective upbringing style has stood out. The research results indicate the importance of the parental role in (cognitive, emotional, social) students’ involvement in teaching, which would be an initial step in improving and developing these competencies. Key words: desirable, undesirable and changeable upbringing styles; school achievement; students' competencies. --- Cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati obilježja i prediktorsku ulogu stilova roditeljstva u ukljucenost ucenika u nastavu, ponajprije kognitivnu, emocionalnu i socijalnu. Roditeljski stilovi klasificirani su u tri glavne skupine: poželjan, nepoželjan i divergentan. Istraživanje je provedeno s ucenicima zavrsnih razreda osnovne skole (N = 269 ucenika) prosjecne dobi od 13,08 godina i njihovih roditelja (N = 269). Podatci su prikupljeni Upitnikom kako roditelji reagiraju i Upitnikom emocionalne, socijalne i kognitivne ukljucenosti ucenika. Pokazalo se da su roditeljski odgojni stilovi znacajni prediktori ucenikove ukljucenosti u nastavu, s time da najvecim dijelom varijance objasnjavaju forme poželjnoga roditeljskoag stila, s naglaskom na formu kongurentnoga stila. S druge strane, forme nepoželjnog i divergetnoga stila imaju potencijal za izazivanje niske razine ukljucenosti ucenika, kako u kognitivnoj, tako i u socijalnoj i emocionalnoj dimenziji. Rezultati ukazuju na važnost stilova roditeljstva u predikciji ukljucenosti ucenika u nastavu, sto bi bio pocetni korak u razvoju i poboljsanju djecjih kompetencija. {"title":"Music Therapy in Educating Children with Developmental Disabilities / Muzikoterapija u procesu obrazovanja djece s teškoćama u razvoju","authors":"A. Unlike music education, music therapy is aimed at developing and enhancing non-musical skills by using music as a symbol of emotional and personal growth. The purpose of this paper is to present an overview of the theoretical foundations of music therapy in the field of human psychology and music pedagogy, as well as the development of music therapy models that have arisen from these theoretical approaches. The most commonly used music therapy models in special education are based on improvisational music therapy techniques, which include free improvisation therapy, creative music therapy known as the Nordoff-Robbins model, and Orff music therapy. Improvisation in these models plays a key role during the acquisition and promotion of skills. Using sounds, playing instruments, making music here and now, allows for expression and exploration, and enables children to acquire skills in different developmental domains. Finally, the paper offers an overview of the use of music therapy in education of children with developmental disabilities educating developmentally disabled children, its unique features and connections with the education through music approach, in accordance with the set-up goals of the Individual Education Plan. Key words: Individual Education Plan; music therapy; improvisational models; education; children with developmental disabilities. --- Muzikoterapija djeluje kao zasebna disciplina u interdisiciplinarnom podrucju znanosti i umjetnosti. Za razliku od glazbenoga obrazovanja, muzikoterapija je usmjerena prema razvoju i jacanju neglazbenih vjestina koristeci glazbu kao simbol emocionalnoga i osobnoga rasta. Svrha je ovoga rada prikazati pregled teorijskih osnova muzikoterapije na podrucju humanisticke psihologije i glazbene pedagogije, kao i razvoj modela muzikoterapije koji su proizasli iz navedenih teorijskih pravaca. Modeli muzikoterapije koji se najcesce koriste u procesu obrazovanja djece s teskocama u razvoju zasnivaju se na improvizacijskim tehnikama muzikoterapije, a obuhvacaju: terapiju slobodnom improvizacijom, kreativnu muzikoterapiju poznata kao Nordoff-Robbins model i Orff muzikoterapiju. Improvizacija u ovim modelima ima kljucnu ulogu tijekom usvajanja i poticanja vjestina. Koristenje zvukova, sviranje instrumenata, stvaranje glazbe ovdje i sada, omogucava izražavanje i istraživanje, a djeci pruža mogucnost samoostvarenja na razlicitim razvojnim podrucjima. For the research purpose and according to the ADDIE model of instructional design, a multimedia application was created for learning to write and read the letters of the alphabet. This paper describes the application interface display, which presents the functions and the parts of the program code. In the focus of the research are the technical possibilities for the use of multimedia application, as well as the impact of its use on the awareness of pupils and teachers on the importance of the introduction of multimedia teaching content. The main research was focused on the effectiveness of learning to write and read the letters of the alphabet and was carried out by comparing the performance of pupils at the end of the school year in two primary schools. U svrhu istraživanja izrađena je multimedijska aplikacija za ucenje citanja i pisanja slova, prema ADDIE modelu instrukcijskoga dizajna. U radu je opisana aplikacija prikazom aplikacijskoga sucelja, opisom funkcija i dijelova koda. Istražene su tehnicke mogucnosti koristenja multimedijske aplikacije kao i utjecaj njezine uporabe na svijest ucenika i nastavnika o važnosti uvođenja multimedijskih nastavnih sadržaja. The establishment of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the social dimension of higher education dedicated to student support, ensued from the acknowledged need to advance higher education in the European Union. Along with different measures of student support (such as financial aid, streamlined administrative requirements for admission, institutional support in housing, transportation, food, and health care), social support services, such as guidance and counselling, equally represent a significant aspect of the social dimension. Dedicated institutional structures provide formal social support such as student counselling centres, which offer individual or group counselling and support students in overcoming the challenges of the academic experience. Finally, the activities concerning the social dimension of higher education focus on vulnerable groups, as well as the role and the importance of further developing counselling support at higher education institutions in Croatia. Keywords: counselling, higher education system; students --- Cilj je rada prikazati razvoj socijalne dimenzije visokoga obrazovanja te važnost razvoja socijalne podrske kroz strucno i profesionalno savjetovanje namijenjeno studentima. Svijest o potrebi unaprjeđenja visokoga obrazovanja u Europskoj uniji vodila je utemeljenju jedinstvenoga podrucja europskoga obrazovanja tzv. EHEA (European High Educatian Area) i unutar njega, posebnoga podrucja koje se bavi podrskom studiranju kroz tzv. socijalnu dimenziju visokoga obrazovanja. Uz razlicite mjere pomoci studentima u vidu financijskih potpora, jednostavnijih i olaksanih administrativnih pravila upisa, institucijske podrske u vidu stanovanja, prijevoza, hrane i zdravstvene pomoci. Važan dio te socijalne dimenzije odnosi se na usluge pružanja socijalne podrske u smislu usmjeravanja i savjetovanja. Formalna socijalna podrska ostvaruje se preko specijaliziranih institucionalnih usluga kao sto su studentska savjetovalista koja nude usluge individualnoga ili grupnoga savjetovanja i pomagana studentima u prevladavanju izazova na koje nailaze u akademskom životu. According to the p- value of the Wilcoxon test (p=0.014), the mean value (3.92:3.61), the mode value (4:3) and the frequency of the mode value (46:48) for the observed variables, the students attended PE classes when they were held regularly significantly more than online PE class. Furthermore, the p-value of the Wilcoxon test (p=0.003), the mean (3.72:3.41), the mode (5:3) and the frequency of the mode (57:46) value indicated that students were significantly more engaged in recreational activities before the lockdown than during the lockdown. Reading paves the way to success in school, which can build self-confidence and motivate your child to set high expectations from life. Children are “learners” by nature and they learn from the prenatal phase. The child learns by observing the environment and imitating the role models. Likewise, children learn to read encouraged by examples from the environment. Reading aloud to children is the best way to get them interested in reading. By reading, they will grow to love stories and books. Eventually they will want to read on their own. To research parental involvement in reading activities with children, we used Questionnaire of the Hanen Center for Evaluating Parental Involvement in the Development of Reading Skills. We wanted to investigate if there is a statistically significant difference in parents’ engagement in reading to children and with children with regard to their parents’ academic education, number of parents who live with a child, and financial income in the household. We also wanted to find out if there is a statistically significant association between parental involvement in the child’s reading activities and their child’s involvement in reading activities. There were 716 respondents. Findings indicated that demographic data, such as parents’ academic education, number of parents who live with a child, and financial income in the household have a statistically significant impact on parental involvement in reading activities with their children, but also on their child’s involvement in reading activities. The results show statistically significant association between parental involvement in the child’s reading activities and their child’s involvement in reading activities, as expected. This paper points out the importance of reading to children, no matter their age, since the use of those kind of activities has been proven to be effective in promoting literacy skills, in previous researches as well as in this one. Key words: parental involvement; promoting reading skills; reading; reading activities; reading skills. - Sažetak Sposobnost citanja iznimno je važna vjestina. Citanje utire put uspjehu u skoli, koji može izgraditi samopouzdanje i motivirati dijete da postavi visoka ocekivanja za život. Djeca uce citati potaknuta primjerima iz okoline. Citanje naglas najbolji je nacin da djecu zainteresirate za citanje. Citajuci djeci, poticete ih da samostalno pocnu citati te da na kraju zavole aktivnost citanja. Kako bi se istražila roditeljska ukljucenost u aktivnosti citanja djeci, koristen je Upitnik Hanen centra za procjenu ukljucenosti roditelja u aktivnosti koje poticu razvoj vjestina citanja. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 716 ispitanika. For its formation and improvements, appropriate competences are expected. In this research we seek to highlight the need to strengthen the professional knowledge and skills of preschool teachers for building and developing partnerships with parents seen as a higher form of collaboration. Therefore, the aim of this research was to examine the perceptions and attitudes of parents and preschool teachers about their mutual cooperation and partnership. The sample consists of 203 parents and preschool teachers working in kindergartens in the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County. Hypotheses were set with regards to recognition or knowledge of cooperation and partnership concepts, the assessment of the role of preschool teachers as partners by parents and preschool teachers in mutual cooperation and partnership, and the assessment of the importance of cooperation through the participants’ own responsibility. Once the data was analysed, the obtained results showed that both groups of respondents did not consider the role of preschool teacher as partner as one that was the most important. Also, the results of the research have shown that parents, but also preschool teachers, do not understand the difference between the concepts cooperation and partnership. Although both parties have agreed on the importance of a partnership or the collaborative relationship, there is also a small number of participants who consider such a relationship irrelevant or less important. Keywords: cooperation; lifelong learning; parents; partnership; preschool teachers. - Partnerski odnos smatra se jednim od najvažnijih cimbenika odgojno-obrazovnoga rada za ciju se izgradnju i unaprjeđenje ocekuju odgovarajuce kompetencije. U ovom istraživanju želi se ukazati na potrebu osnaživanja profesionalnih znanja i vjestina odgojitelja za izgradnju i razvijanje partnerstva s roditeljima kao viseg oblika suradnje. Stoga je cilj istraživanja bio ispitati percepcije i stavove roditelja i odgojitelja o njihovoj međusobnoj suradnji i partnerskom odnosu. Uzorak cini 203 roditelja i odgojitelja koji rade u vrticima na podrucju grada Zagreba i Zagrebacke županije. Postavljene su hipoteze koje se odnose na (pre)poznavanje pojmova suradnje i partnerstva, procjenu uloge odgojitelja kao partnera od strane roditelja i odgojitelja u međusobnoj suradnji i partnerstvu te procjenu važnosti suradnje kroz vlastitu odgovornost sudionika. Rezultati dobiveni nakon analize podataka pokazuju da obje skupine ispitanika nisu ulogu odgojitelja kao partnera procijenile najvažnijom. Također, rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da roditelji, ali i odgojitelji, ne shvacaju razliku između pojmova suradnje i partnerstva. Even though modern technology is present in all spheres of children‘s education, the fact that reading has a significant role in children‘s future development and learning, both cognitive and emotional, should not be neglected. Children whom it has been read to since birth are most often given a good foundation for learning and reading successfully later on in life. The parental role is invaluable in early reading to the child because, in addition to developing the child‘s vocabulary, imagination and faster understanding, the time parent and child spend together is quality time. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the parents‘ views on the importance of reading to a child from an early age, as well as to determine whether parents aspire to some form of lifelong education in the mentioned field. In the first phase, unstructured interviews were conducted with five parents whose children attend one of the early childhood and preschool institutions in Međimurje County. In the second phase of the survey, a questionnaire was constructed to examine the parents‘ opinions (N = 78) on the importance of early reading to the child. It has been found that parents most often state lack of free time as a reason for insufficient reading to or with the child. Iako moderna tehnologija prodire u sve sfere odgoja i obrazovanja djece, ne bi trebalo zanemariti cinjenicu koliko snažnu ulogu citanje ima u buducem, kako kognitivnom tako i emocionalnom razvoju i ucenju svakog pojedinoga djeteta. Djeca kojoj se citalo od rođenja, najcesce imaju dobre temelje za ucenje i uspjesno citanje i u kasnijem životu. Roditeljska uloga neprocjenjiva je u ranom citanju djetetu jer, osim sto se rjecnik, masta i razumijevanje djeteta brže razvija, vrijeme koje roditelj i dijete provedu zajedno iznimno je kvalitetno provedeno vrijeme. Stoga je cilj ovoga rada istražiti stavove roditelja o važnosti citanja djetetu od najranije dobi, kao i utvrditi teže li roditelji nekom od oblika cjeloživotnoga obrazovanja u podrucju navedene problematike. The author’s basic premise is the “linguistic frugality” as a definitive characteristic of the Internet, resulting in the formation of a written slang. The authors shed light at the respective forms used in internet communication. The study explores the main manifestations of the abovementioned slang and investigates idiosyncratic orthographic solutions dominating the World Wide Web. Due to the paralinguistic deficiencies of the written text primarily manifested in the lack of a metalanguage or mimicry, the emotional content of our messages is expressed in the form of smile symbols. Consequently, the phonetic equivalents of the written image tend to dominate texts exhanged via e-mail or chat lines. The increasing domination of the net language by images results in visible semiotic and grammatic consequences. Thus a new metaphoric language is being born as established textual forms start to become obsolete. However, one basic question remains: Will the new digital communication options lead to linguistic vitality, linguistic diversity and creative language use, or the net language will have a negative impact on the development of language and result in overall value loss? In sum, the authors explore the impact of net language or internet-based communication on the language use and linguistic expressions of today’s youth. Key words: creativity; net language; language norms; universal language. - U ovom istraživannju ispituje se nacin na koji prestiž konvencija pisanoga jezika oblikuje internetsku komunikaciju i utjecaj novonastale jezicne potkulture na koristenje i evoluciju jezika. Polazeci od premise “lingvisticke stedljivosti” - neosporne osobine interneta koja dovodi do formiranja pisanoga slenga, autori proucavaju povezane oblike koji se upotrebljavaju u internetskoj komunikaciji, glavne pojave spomenutoga slenga i idiosinkraticna pravopisna rjesenja koja dominiraju internetom. Zbog paralingvisticke manjkavosti pisanoga teksta, prvenstveno izostanka metajezika i mimike, emocionalni sadržaj nasih poruka izražava se simbolom osmijeha. Na taj nacin svakodnevno svjedocimo dominaciji fonetskih ekvivalenata pisanih slika tekstovima koji se razmjenjuju putem e-poruka ili u pricaonicama (chatovima). Sve veca dominacija slika jezikom interneta ima vidljive semioticke i gramaticke posljedice, vodi zastarijevanju uspostavljenih tekstualnih oblika i daje uzlet novom metaforickom jeziku. Objective assessment of knowledge is the imperative of the quality vocational education of healthcare professionals; in the evaluation of students’ progress and final assessment of students’ knowledge, the formative and summative methods are commonly used during or after the course of a particular subject. Modern higher education insists on objectivity and scientific foundation of the evaluation process, which is the main reason why the didactic docimology has finally received a deserved place in the pedagogical practice in the last decades. The aim of this paper is to emphasize the importance of the unconditional appliance of scientific principles in students’ knowledge evaluation, critically analyze elements of the existing objective methods of assessment in vocational education of healthcare professionals, and to emphasize the social and professional significance of the student’s final grade, which should be an unambiguous indicator of acquired professional skills of a graduate student of healthcare sciences. Key words: final grade; formative knowledge assessment; healthcare science; skills; summative knowledge assessment. - Raznolikost nastavnoga plana i programa u strucnim predmetima zahtijeva primjenu razlicitih didakticko-metodickih pristupa poucavanju, a samim tim i razlicitih metoda ocjenjivanja znanja studenata. Objektivno ocjenjivanje znanja imperativ je kvalitetnoga strukovnog obrazovanja zdravstvenih radnika. U vrednovanju napretka studenata i konacnoj procjeni njihovoga znanja, uobicajeno se koriste i sumativne i formativne metode, tijekom ili nakon pojedinoga nastavnog tecaja. Moderno visoko obrazovanje uvjetuje na objektivnosti i znanstvenoj utemeljenosti procesa vrednovanja, sto je glavni razlog zasto je didakticka dokimologija u posljednjim desetljecima konacno dobila zasluženo mjesto u pedagoskoj praksi. Cilj je ovoga rada naglasiti važnost bezuvjetne primjene znanstvenih nacela u evaluaciji znanja studenata, kriticki analizirati elemente postojecih objektivnih metoda ocjenjivanja u strukovnom obrazovanju zdravstvenih radnika te naglasiti drustveni i profesionalni znacaj studentove zavrsne ocjene, koja bi trebala biti nedvosmislen pokazatelj stecenih profesionalnih vjestina diplomiranoga studenta zdravstvenih znanosti.
