Dravya holds its identity based on the gunas present in it. Ayurveda Samhitas have detailed the panchabhautic composition of gurvadi gunas. We also find references regarding the evolution of Panchamahabhutas srushti utpatti krama their pradhana gunas specific properties and bhutantara praveshakrita gunas imbibed properties during evolution. The concept of pancheekarana explains the evolution of karya dravyas in specific physical forms with gunas imbibed during the process of evolution. Yet the concept is not elaborate and clear enough to be applied to understand a disease and treat it. Dr. Purushottam Hirlekar in his book lsquoShareeram Tattva Darshanam Naama Vaataadi Dosha Vijnanamrdquo has tried to put some light on the evolution of gunas. The concept of evolution of gunas from bhutasamyoga combination of mahabhutas explained by him appears to be more practical as a disease can be properly understood by applying this concept of evolution of a wide range of gunas from five mahabhutas. Though the Patolakaturohinyadi Kashaya is a very potent medicine its effect can be noticed only when consumed for the number of days as suggested by the physician. Many a times this becomes a challenge for the patients because of its bitter taste. Also as it is available in liquid form transport from one place to another becomes difficult.Aim To perform Pharmaceutico-analytical study of Patolakaturohinyadi Ghanavati Methods The present study was taken up for the preparation of ghanavati of Patolakaturohinyadi Kashayam of shodhaniya adhyaya of Astanga Hridaya Sutrasthana. The prepared vati was subjected to physicochemical and phytochemical analysis HPTLC microbial load analysis as per the WHO guidelines. Efforts were made to set the analytical standards for the Patolakaturohinyadi ghanavati which were not reported till date.Results Loss on drying 6.268 ash value 46.222 acid insoluble ash 1.925 water soluble extractive 77.972 alcohol soluble extractive 28.557 hardness 6.0 kgcm friability 0.164 disintegration 25 min pH 6.12 in HPTLC of Patolakaturohinyadi Ghanavati maximum four sports at short UV and long UV were noted. It not only is concerned with the treatment and cure of the diseases but also aims to allay one from all kind of miseries i.e. mental physical social and spiritual. Hence yurveda is not merely a system of medicine but also deals with all the aspects of life. The strength of any medical literature lies in its applicability and implimentation. For successful implimentation of medical literature periodical survey and evaluation is higly necessary. There are many such concepts in yurveda which may be of utmost utility in fulfilling the needs of mankind but the current trend of research is not much focused on literary research. Sugandha Cikits Aroma therapy is one such treatment trend which is having its application both in mantainance of health and cure of disease. Related references of Sugandha Cikitsand Saumansaya were collected from texts of Brhatray and other related sources to analyse the effects. Sugandha dravyas that are enriched with Gandha gua when enters nsa because oftheir Sukma amp Mrudu Gua does influence both arra and Manas. Karanjwa Caesalpinia bonducella Linn is an important medicinal plant used in the Unani system of medicine for a long time due to its multiple therapeutic properties. The present review aimed to explore the existing data of the drug about its conventional uses based on its phytochemical constituents and pharmacological actions. Karanjwa review was undertaken by exploring the bibliographic database viz. Science Direct Pub Med Scopus and Google Scholar. The search was carried out using the terms lsquoKaranjwarsquo lsquoCaesalpinia bonducella lsquoFever nutrsquo lsquoGajgarsquo. Moreover books published in Urdu and English were also used to gather information as representative literature. The plant is known for its use in the treatment of different systemic ailments due to the presence of steroidal saponins fatty acids hydrocarbons phytosterols isoflavones amino acids and phenolics alkaloids present bonducin a homoisoflavone. In the Unani system of medicine the pharmacological actions of Karanjwa include antipyretic anti-inflammatory antimicrobial tonic desiccatives antispasmodic immuno-modulators antioxidant anxiolytic antidepressant hypoglycaemic antiallergic and antihistaminic anti asthmatic hepatoprotective anticancer and nephroprotective activities. The present study explored the pharmacological phytochemical and therapeutic properties of Caesalpinia bonducella Linn. The prevalence of osteoarthritis among elderly as per the recent study is 56.6 making it a leading cause of disability. Considering all these the present study was undertaken. To evaluate the efficacy of Dashamoola Ksheera Basti in Janu Sandhigata Vata. It was a controlled clinical trial with pre and post-test design having Mahayogaraja guggulu internally and Ksheerabala taila Janubasti as control. The subjects fulfilling the diagnostic criteria of Janu Sandhigata Vata was assigned into two groups viz. Group AControl group and Group B Trial group each group consisting of 50 patients. Sandhi Shoola Sandhi Shotha Sandhi Atopa Sandhi Sthabdhata with grading and WOMAC- Index for Osteoarthritis were taken as parameters for assessment. The study consisted of three assessments i.e. 0 day 8th day and 20th day.
