{"title":"Tecnologia come discorso sul metodo e sul progetto","authors":"Paolo Tombesi","doi":"10.36253/techne-14630","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.36253/techne-14630","url":null,"abstract":"Se da una parte è inevitabile porsi delle domande sul ruolo della tecnologia nella costruzione, oggi questo equivale anche ad interrogarsi sul significato della parola stessa, nonché della sfera disciplinare di appartenenza. Nell’accezione anglofona e sassone, da cui deriva molta manualistica di riferimento, il termine è ancora prevalentemente utilizzato, tout court ed ecumenicamente, per descrivere l’insieme dei mezzi e metodi della costruzione, ovvero le tecniche di produzione, assemblaggio e funzionamento dei componenti dell’organismo edilizio, di solito senza riferimenti espliciti alle manifatture di provenienza o al loro livello di avanzamento. Piú in generale, é il cono visivo degli studi sulla costruzione che sembra attestarsi su questa lettura, privilegiando la doppia connotazione materiale e immediatamente strumentale di ‘tecnologia’, indipendentemente dalla scala applicativa o dal grado di articolazione interno del sistema di lavoro corrispondente. Viene da chiedersi, però, se l’identificazione della tecnologia con insiemi di tecniche per definizione aprioristiche rispetto al progetto e tutto sommato autoreferenziali sia funzionale alle sfide odierne della costruzione nonché ai compiti di coloro chiamati a gestirla ed indirizzarla. In un contesto come quello globale attuale, in cui l’attività edilizia é tanto importante dal punto di vista dello sviluppo socio-economico quanto critica da quello delle pressioni ambientali indotte, una domanda sorge infatti spontanea: é possibile rimanere ancorati ad una visione essenzialmente positivista della tecnologia – risposta diretta a serie di esigenze produttive scorporate da esiti che vadano oltre il manufatto edilizio in sé – oppure é necessario pensare alla possibilità di allargarne i confini concettuali, che la facciano diventare metodo di analisi e di riflessione più generali? In questo senso sembra utile soffermarsi sulle sue due componenti etimologiche – tekne (tecnica) e logos (discorso), ponendo però l’accento sulla seconda piuttosto che sulla prima. In tal modo, tecnologia verrebbe a significare, anche retoricamente, ‘riflessione sulla tecnica’; il che, in uno scenario produttivamente avanzato, cioé con una molteplicità di tecniche a disposizione, avvicinerebbe molto la natura di tale riflessione ad una definizione classica di ‘economia’, piu precisamente quella avanzata dall’inglese Lionel Robbins nel 1932 – “la scienza che studia il comportamento umano in quanto relazione tra fini e mezzi limitati che hanno usi alternativi” (Robbins, 1932). Una tale sovrapposizione lessicale renderebbe perfettamente conto di una possibile, importante missione della tecnologia in quanto disciplina al giorno d’oggi, e cioè lo studio per una gestione efficace delle materie utilizzabili per costruire, non solo dal punto di vista edilizio ma anche da quello ambientale ed industriale. The research purpose is to develop accessible public places and indoor environments where the autonomous robot BUDD-e will act as guide for the BVI people. The modularity of the proposed solution allows the development of pre-defined usage scenarios for professionals: impact of modifications in technological design choices, model calibration, and performance gap between simulated and monitored building data. Technical applications that can harness this characteristic can have a great impact in the improvement of indoor hygrometric comfort. So far few applications have made use of this unique property. The natural hygroscopic intelligence of wood can lead to the development of a new technology capable of ensuring improved indoor comfort. The natural material can thus be engineered by creating responsive composites made from wood waste and transformed through 4D printing. The first workflow involves the attribution of spatial coordinates to the point data extracted from the CFD, the implementation of an SQLite database, and the connection to the database to visualise and use information on environmental and comfort variables. The second workflow involves georeferencing the CFD raster output, attributing an ID to the point data, creating a point grid in a GIS environment, and merging these with the point data on the microclimate. In this context, the Internet of Things (IoT) is identified as a potential innovation driver for the widespread use of circular approaches. The aim of the paper is to clarify the role of IoT in enabling five circular business models in the façade sector. The potential benefits of an IoT-based façade system are highlighted through a matrix underscoring the relationship between information produced and key actions to achieve the innovative business models.
