Regarding the frequency components of these signals that occur as a consequence of this electric activity, different brain waves can be distinguished. The electric impulse alternations that generated during the operation of neurons can be measured by the EEG (electroencephalograph) device. In the past, devices that could measure these brain signal alterations were mainly used in medicine. However, in the past few years cheaper and user friendly brainwave signal processing units have become available and the use of this technology has expanded. In this paper, the so-called Brain Computer Interface unit will be presented that was developed for further brain wave analysis and ensures the detection of brain waves. Moreover, an application for visualization and further procession of the measured and processed signals will also be described. The application can be used for EEG data acquisition, processing and visualization which could be the base of several further researches.","PeriodicalId":441172,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121768428","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This model provides the specific fuzzy version of data analytical method based on the approach known as Formal Concept Analysis (FCA), which supports data tables containing the multiple types of attributes defined as fuzzy sets. The acquisition of the FCA models is computationally complex task and it is important to find more effective algorithms for their creation. Therefore, we have designed the algorithm for the reduction of the computation times, which is based on the simple division of input data table using bisection-based approach and then merging procedure compose the local models into one finally merged concept lattice for the complete input data. We present the illustrative experiments which prove the applicability of the presented algorithm for sparse data inputs, where it is possible to get significant decrease of computation times. More effective algorithm for sparse data can be useful for the application of FCA-based models in sparse domains like information retrieval or text analysis.","PeriodicalId":441172,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115206149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ferariu, Corina Cimpanu","doi":"10.1109/SAMI.2014.6822417","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/SAMI.2014.6822417","url":null,"abstract":"This paper presents a novel approach to multiobjective evolutionary robot path planning. The paths are designed for bi-dimensional continuous working scenes with disjoint, nonconvex obstacles. A new ranking procedure ensures a self-adapted progressive articulation between decision and search, performed in relation to the landscape of the objective space. The ranks are assigned by means of dominance analysis, while making use of adaptive grouping of individuals and adaptive control of diversity. The algorithm also accepts variable-length chromosomes and uses a new compatible crossover, which avoids the production of offspring longer than their parents. The unfeasible paths are repaired and shortened by means of a new corrective algorithm. This correction works only once on a specific chromosome and its main role is to guide the genetic search towards the feasible regions of the search space. The experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the suggested techniques on several working scenes with different maps of obstacles.","PeriodicalId":441172,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132210046","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this work is to create a 3D model with surface of real objects, for example 3D model of an interior and exterior of buildings, tunnels, roads or road surrounding areas. For that purpose we have developed a mobile measurement platform. It consists of two lasers scanners, seven cameras, GPS receiver, server, switch and UPS. The angular range of the first laser scanner is 360 degrees and distance which we can measure is about 250m. We use this scanner to measure surrounding environment. The second scanner is used for more precise measurement. Its angular range is 70 degree and measurement range is about 2.4 m. To calculate a cloud of points we use our own algorithm based on our equations. For visualization we use *.obj file type which may be open in many programs. The algorithm for surface creation is based on finding the nearest point. To find the nearest point, the algorithm uses distance and axis difference between points. From these data the algorithm can create surface.","PeriodicalId":441172,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"157 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114361486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper deals with automatic collision detection for manipulator arm mounted on a mobile robot - the goal of the system is to prevent any possible collisions between the arm and the robot or the arm itself. Implementation of the system uses the separating axis algorithm on pairs of oriented bounding boxes enveloping mechanical components of the robot. Practical testing of the whole control system was done on two existing mobile robots.","PeriodicalId":441172,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131298261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Examining even a very small region of the brain requires enormous calculational capacity. This is most effective with the help of an artificial multiprocessing neural network, similar to the living nervous sytem. In the course of our work we use a self-developed 128-microelectrode block to decode the firing matrix of the living nervous system. The signals have been processed with the help of a 9-processor neural network. We have established a two-way analog contact with the living nervous system. Already known algorithms can be applied to the system, whilst the unique hardware structure also allows new algorithms to be developed.","PeriodicalId":441172,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125326055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These pump does not contaminate the transported fluid, they are undemanding and ideal for shear-sensitive and aggressive fluids. Through their wide spectrum of use, there are many variants of these pumps based on their special needs, such as high pressure need, long tubing lifetime or low pressure deviation. The object of this paper is to review and summarize the most important properties of these pumps and introduce some of the special solutions of these pumps focusing on control engineering possibilities.","PeriodicalId":441172,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128950055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
