Social restrictions to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 eliminate the essential characteristics of humans and individuals who need to move to maintain their existence as biological and social beings. The effect of inactivity includes a decrease in health quality and an increase in the illness rate. Therefore, this study aimed to examine physically active behavior to fill spare time during restrictions in the Covid-19 pandemic. Related to physical activity behavior from a psychological perspective, motivation to practice in leisure time is seen as a predictor for involvement in physical activity. The participants of this study were Elementary School students aged 10-12 years old, seen as the critical transition stage of physical and psychological development. The number of male and female samples, each consisting of 50 people, were selected through convenience sampling. They were voluntarily willing to be a respondent to answer a self-report process using the motivation to practice in free time scale (MBWL). The construct validity of the scale had met the requirements as well as the internal consistency of each item. The results of the study showed that male students' motivation to practice in their free time was higher than female students. This research is qualitative descriptive research conducting a literature study. The steps taken were article compilation, data reduction, data analysis, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The researchers made an instrument for article determination criteria based on the PICOT criteria (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, and Time). The results of the study show that online learning, where the learning process could be carried out through video conferencing, could not only enable participants to interact through audio but also through an indirect face-to-face meeting. Nonverbal communication, including facial expressions and gestures, provided clear information from the speaker. Facial expressions, eye contact, physical appearance, and other aspects help the speaker express messages or information clearly. Facial expressions were more effective than other non-verbal cue modes. This research concludes that the online Physical Education learning in Elementary School implemented through virtual meeting media requires body language and gestures. The teacher should use special tricks in delivering practical learning materials delivered through virtual meetings.","PeriodicalId":441134,"journal":{"name":"TEGAR: Journal of Teaching Physical Education in Elementary School","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115285615","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the changes is the shift from face-to-face learning into online learning. This research was aimed at finding out the difficulties faced by Physical Education students in joining a synchronous online learning during the pandemic. The study was a mixed-method study with an exploratory approach. The instrument used in the study was a questionnaire containing close-ended and open-ended questions distributed through a Google Form. The link was shared through WhatsApp. The study involved 118 Physical Education students as participants. The result of the study showed that there were four major obstacles faced by the students in attending a synchronous online learning, including technical problems, internet coverage problems, internet quota problems, and environment problems. In addition, the findings also showed that an effort to facilitate online learning has been given by providing internet quota for most of the students. However, it was not sufficient to support a number of synchronous online learnings. The study concludes that those problems became a barrier for students to comprehend the materials optimally and to communicate interactively during the lesson. It is suggested that, to gain an optimal outcome of the synchronous online learning, the betterment and support regarding the technical aspect should be given, such as the development of internet service coverage and internet quota provision.","PeriodicalId":441134,"journal":{"name":"TEGAR: Journal of Teaching Physical Education in Elementary School","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131924927","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
